Meditation teaches us to quiet the busy mind and listen to the abiding reality of our true identity. We begin class with mantra and/or kirtan, and learn basic meditation techniques as well as discussion on daily practice, working with resistance, and other keys to developing a strong meditation practice.
Meditation on an image can help us to focus on being rather than doing. We offer images of the natural world as vehicles to quiet thoughts and subdue distractions, allowing us to enter into a deeper state of mind. Click EARTH, WATER, or LIGHT to enjoy a choice of meditation images for these elements.
Clara began studying yoga out of her love of dance and comparative philosophy. She became devoted to yoga practice as a high school student, completing intensive coursework through Himalayan Academy, and traveling to India, Nepal, and Japan to experience the connection between Yoga and Buddhist wisdom first hand.
Forest, horticulture, abundance - a natural place to grow, drawing on natural diversity and the care offered by nurture. At Wild Garden Yoga, practice finds expression in community awareness and sustainable local gardening. We aspire to create community through shared community permaculture projects.
Throughout our lives, we encounter from time to time individuals who deeply inspire us. Some we meet, some we may never meet in person, but still we feel they have helped us on our path in an important way. Meet some of these 'spiritual friends' - great souls whose teachings continue to influence the lives of those who seek understanding, offering encouragement and wisdom, though they may no longer be physically present or living.
