I've attended classes at Tough Love Yoga for a few years now. They are the only yoga studio that I regularly visited that survived the pandemic, and I'm so grateful for that.
Prior to this month, I'd only taken deep stretch or restorative classes, but I saw that a series for beginners was starting in January so I signed up. I'm not a beginner but it's been a long time since I've been in an active yoga class so I felt like I needed a soft re-introduction. I'm LOVING this class. I feel so good afterwards - more refreshed and alive. (The series is called Bare

You know, I decided to try and self heal by trying yoga after a slip and fall that really damaged my neck and spine. I went to tough love with my husband and we were excited to start something new. When we walked in, the young sister at the front kept asking my husband if he was in the wrong place. If he meant to go to the Cross fit Gym across the street. After saying no 5 or 6 times, and we finally signed up to class, the same gal was the instructor rushed thru the positions and LAUGHED at me while I struggled with the poses. I was in so much pain. Nerves firing in the back of my neck. I was trying

Wonderful studio with very down to earth vibe (which is a refreshing change from some of the other studios in Atlanta that are not only expensive but also cater to a very stereotypical, new-age, upper class yogi). It's obvious that the people at Tough Love value the practice and want to make it accessible and affordable for all.

Tough Love is amazing and these $10 drop-ins save me from spending all my money trying to do yoga to de-stress. I can't commit to a membership and all the other yoga studios around will charge at least twice as much for a single class. I've gone to Saturday morning metal yoga twice now and I'm in love. Neda is amazing and so is Greg. They talk about some things that really resonated with me during practice and I always leave feeling wholly renewed. I went by myself the first week but now I'm working on convincing all my friends to come with me. And if you've never tried

Okay so I've been practicing yoga at home now on and off for a few years . No real consistency but I've been getting better these last few months . I drove by this place and the name tickled me. I had to check it out! This is my second time visiting a yoga studio ever . Super pleased with front desk customer service . Parking is around back.. I did arrive ten mins early and I'm glad I did because I was able to get a feel for things as well as use the restroom before hand . Omg ! Once I got inside I realized I forgot my freaking yoga mat. But tough love looked out since it was my

Tough Love Yoga is located in the same plaza as Radial Cafe on the right hand side of the building (facing Mell Ave, by the Cross Fit gym). They have a private lot, so parking is not usually an issue.
A friend of mine recommended Tough Love Yoga to me because she knew I was working on my handstands. Tough Love Yoga teaches an one hour and fifteen min long inversion class every Tuesday. Sara was the instructor (but usually another instructor, Clay, also helps with teaching this class). Both are amazing instructors.
A fair warning - this is not an easy class - especially if you're new to

(review edit july 2018) I recently left a review of another yoga studio that I really like. I love Yoga...All types. But Hear This - Tough Love Yoga may be the absolute touchstone of high level, alignment based (I'm not sure that's the correct term) yoga in the Atlanta area.
The alignment cueing is second to none. and when I say second to none...I'm hard pressed to give you other examples that are even relatively close. You have lots of classes at very convenient times (one of the few in ATL with 8:00 PM Classes) and a wide variety of class types and levels.

One of the BEST Yoga studios in the ATL. I am all about accessibility. The teachers in this yoga community echo bringing YOGA to the community and actively support the community as a part of their practice. So if you are looking for a place to get your yoga on, feel comfortable, and feel supported in your practice you will not go wrong with TLY! Love the place and am committing to show up more! Thank YOu to Tough Love Yoga for Brining it and Living the Yoga Practice!

I've had way too many bad yoga studio experiences than I can think of. I stopped going to any studio for over a year because I couldn't find a place that made me truly feel welcomed and comfortable in my beginner stage of my yoga journey. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and given some background information on the studio. I got to meet the teacher before classes who asked if there were any injuries she should be aware of. This place just made me feel like I belong regardless of where I am in my journey. Will continue to attended classes here even though i have to drive 18 miles each

I love this place. I have only been a handful of times, usually on Friday evenings with Jen, and have thoroughly enjoyed every class. The instructors and staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. I don't practice yoga often so more advanced poses can make me feel self conscious but all the instructors are so constructive and friendly, I've never felt self conscious here. It's a fantastic place and you can't beat a $10 drop in class.

I go to yoga pretty often and enjoy visiting other studios to witness how they practice so when mom came into town and we were trying to find things to do, I suggested yoga. I found this studio via Yelp since it was close to where we were staying and it had a pretty good star rating; plus it was affordable. There were a lot of other studios who were charging $20 a head which to me was pretty expensive.! Twenty bucks must going rate for Downtown Atlanta studios which I wasn't willing to pay; considering I don't pay that much at my own studio! Tough Love charges $10. Cool. And the start

I've been coming to this yoga studio since I moved to Atlanta in 2015 and I absolutely love it here. They have amazing instructors and patrons alike. You never feel judged my more advanced yogis in your classes and the instructors offer many options for poses. Recently a friend had gifted me a 5-class pass and I had not realized that these expire after a month but when the staff members recognized my frustration over this they worked with me to understand the policies and even gave me an extension on my pass, which they surely did not have to do. The team here truly cares about their patrons and

Can't say enough about this place. Home away from home. The yoga hour classes are my absolute favorite... a perfect balance of butt kicking and grace. The owner, Neda, has poured her heart and soul into this place and it shows. It's hard to pick a favorite teacher here, so I won't. Shout out to everyone. Try it out if you haven't already. It's NOT hot, but it can get sweaty. And I'll see you on the mat...

I do have a great fondness for this little independent yoga studio on Dekalb Ave. The instructors are fantastic - Jenn is mentioned in a few other reviews - and she is the yoga-fun-bomb - and even the student instructors are really good ($5 class yippeee).
It was packed to the gills the night I went "Win(e)d Down" Friday & yes there was wine after, which may have brought more folks. But for some reason, it really worked - Jen kept the work pretty close to the mat and got us to squeeze in and be friendly with each other. She is funny and lighthearted and fun and gave excellent cues

Although I have not attended a Yoga class with Jen, I can assure you that she has the mindset to make you comfortable. There is a Warrior Pose that strikes you in the most gentle manner as she teaches you things that you didn't already know (in this case...about how to introduce puppies.
She gets five stars for being a great person, and you can check in with her about how to adopt a puppy from the Atlanta Humane Society.

TLY appears to be occupied by a different crowd than most studios. Maybe it's the location, at the quirky intersection of Edgewood, Little 5 and Candler Park. Maybe it's the neighboring venues, like a huge crossfit gym or LGBT center. Or maybe it's because Neda is very good at attracting the kind of people she wants in her studio.
Despite the cobras painted on the walls and Neda's fierce tattoos, she invites a beautiful sense of vulnerability and softness in her studio. I love that she promotes a very physical program without judgment or taking it too far.

Atlanta has plenty of yoga studios but I haven't been able to find the perfect one. Until now. Enter Tough Love Yoga. I've fallen in love. I'd heard of the studio plenty of times before through Scoutmob and Creative Loafing probably because it's so different. I mean who's ever listened to metal while you're trying to concentrate on tree pose? I was always intrigued but I didn't think it would be for me. I'm not into metal. At all.
In the spring however Scoutmob had a handpicked deal- yoga at the roof of the midtown W hotel with ginger margs after class and

We were in town visiting relatives, and looking for a yoga class to take. I am so glad my boyfriend found Tough Love Yoga. Everything about our experience here was great!
We took the Heavy Metal Yoga on Saturday morning, and not only did the desk staff make us feel welcome, but Neda was one of three teachers I've absolutely loved within the first few minutes. She was warm and welcoming, and there was none of the clique vibe that can happen in some classes (a very good indicator of an awesome teacher).
Both I and my boyfriend sweated our derrieres off, and even though there were moments

I love, love, love Tough Love Yoga. All of the instructors are so welcoming and chill, there's nothing intimidating about coming to a class. But boy, can those classes kick your butt. Through Neda's instruction, I've been progressing in my practice in ways I didn't realize I could: finally able to nail Side Crow, when a couple of months ago I could barely hold a standard Crow. And might I add, my muscles have never felt so sore after a yoga class - in the best way possible.
