Our funeral home has been family owned and operated for more than 100 years. Clair S. Bartholomew built his funeral home from the ground up based on an idea that one man can make a difference. His philosophy centered on providing families with a sense of honesty, trust, and service throughout the most difficult time of their lives.

As the funeral home grew in prosperity, the Bartholomew's saw the need to expand their facility size, and a new chapel was added in 1968, and William J. Althenn was hired as a full time licensed funeral director. Eventually Mr. Bartholomew retired and handed down the funeral home to his son, Clair J. Bartholomew.
Services
Family and friends getting together to honor a loved one's life is one of the most important steps in the grieving and healing process. You may opt to have a traditional religious service, or you may choose to have services that meet the needs of your family in a non-traditional 'life celebration'.
No matter if a death is sudden, or if it something that was a long time coming, the loss of a loved one makes us feel emotional and overwhelmed. No amount of preparation can fully prepare you for this loss. When you are in a heightened emotional state, even the most basic decisions can seem staggering.
Traditionally, a burial service involves a visitation, followed by a funeral service in a church, or other place of worship. The casket is typically present at both these events, and it is your decision on whether to have the casket open or closed. You have the option of having your loved one interred (earth burial), or entombed in a crypt inside a mausoleum (above ground burial).
Cremation is an alternative to the burial process and it is chosen by many people because of religious beliefs, the desire to preserve the environment or it was requested by the person who died. Cremation services can be handled in the same manner as a tradional burial.

Family and loved ones may still gather for visitation hours with a traditional religious service to follow, the difference is that your loved one is transported to the crematory in place of the cemetery. You may also elect to have the cremation take place prior to any services. In this case many families choose to have the visitation and religious services with an urn present, or perhaps a memorable photograph.
Giving a meaningful, moving eulogy can be a nerve-wracking situation for even the most accomplished public speaker, but it need not be. How can you summarize somebody's life in a few short minutes, while being both somber and funny at the same time? Writing and delivering a eulogy is a therapeutic tool to help deal with your grief, and being chosen to give a eulogy is an honor and should be treated that way.

Very compassionate, professional and caring from the beginning till the burial. Special thanks to Danielle and Mikaela for their empathy and the way they treated our family during this difficult time. They are a special team and I highly recommend the funeral home for anyone needing their services.

I have been to Bartholomew Funeral Home on multiple occasions and have been impressed by them each time. From the funeral directors to the door staff, they are nothing but professionals. If you are looking for first class service, this is the funeral home to entrust your loved one to.

This place has gone from bad to worse. I would never recommend these money hungry thrives to anyone I care for. They make bad situations worsen and seem to get off on it. Save your money here it’s nothing worth the aggravation. Terrible terrible group

I normally don’t review places but when I told a friend to go here for their arrangements I was told they had a low rating. I don’t know what anyone’s situation is but I have nothing but positive things to say about this place and Danielle. No matter how much I prepared for the passing of my dad, it still was an insanely difficult time. Danielle not only took the time to explain everything to me so I wasn’t confused or conflicted on arrangements but was beyond comforting and was a real pleasure to have during the whole process. They took my financial restrictions and still did more than

If I could give 0 stars I would. Despite paying for embalming and bringing clothes so the family could see my grandfather, they didn't embalm him. For a business dealing sympathy, they have none.
Useless. Utterly useless.

This place has long since forgotten it is supposed to be there to help people and now solely focuses on revenues received. If it wasn’t next to the church, no one would go here

I am taking the time to write this review because recently my Mom passed away and we have never been through this before and I had no idea what to do. We decided to call Bartholomew Funeral Home and it ended up the best decision we could have made. Todd, the owner, and his staff were so caring and compassionate that we really felt like they were a part of our family. They helped us through every step of the overwhelming process. I can't tell you how much this meant to me and my family. They helped get us through the worst time of our lives and I cannot thank them enough!

Danielle really went above and beyond helping my family plan my mother’s funeral. She was patient and understanding. She made sure every detail was taken care of. We chose C.S. Bartholomew & Sons because they are family owned, professional and really took the time to explain everything to us to ensure that we were comfortable and understood the process. They did a great job with our extended family members funerals in the recent past and we knew that they would take care of us in our time of need.
