Hot Spot has truly changed my life--not only is it a beautiful space, filled with a casual and loving energy, but it's a true community of powerful, brilliant yoga teachers and students. Some of my dearest friends I've made thru coming to yoga classes here, and the variety of teachers, all of who have their own style and NONE of which have a patronizing attitude (rampant in the yoga world), are my favorite I've ever ever ever practiced with. I would truly stay in Oakland just to come to Hot Spot.
Plus it's Black-woman owned and run, by the *phenomenal* Adesina who is one of the best teachers out

Legit. If serious practice with serious students led by serious teachers sounds about right, this is top of the list. Hot enough if you want to sweat, but you have to earn that here. You create your own heat, the room won't do it for you. Music on the hip hoppy side - just so you know. With time this studio might turn into something seriously special. Make no mistake - a real find.

I *LOVE* this studio. I'm not typically into yoga or yoga studios, because a lot of the time I get done with the class and think "well, that was an hour of stretching, I guess" but at Hot Spot you WORK OUT and they somehow make it super fun. The beats are great, and the instructors are fantastic. They make you feel good in your own skin, even when you're toppling over onto your mat because you don't know what you're doing. I felt super welcome from day one. It's awesome. Barbara's classes are my fave, except maybe tied with Sunday Bubbles and Flow. And it's so cool that they're finding a way with

Hot Spot is truly a gem of a yoga studio. Great teachers, great vibe, great classes -- really a great choice for anyone looking to deepen their yoga practice.
The studio itself is clean, spacious, and tranquil, with a garden view in the main studio area. The temperature is more "warm" than it is "hot", so don't expect a Bikram-style class. Personally, I think the temperature is ideal for loosening up the muscles without being so intense that it makes you faint or light-headed. That being said, if you sweat easily, make sure to bring a towel. Also, since there is no carpeting

If you're looking for a studio that offers good customer service do not go here. I have been calling for two weeks and have not had anyone contact me back. Ive called the studio 28 times, left 7 voicemails, 4 emails, 2 Facebook messages, and no response. I was calling to inquire about their teacher training program. I had a couple questions that was it. By far the worst customer service that I have ever received at any studio. Super disappointed! ☮️✌️

I love Hot Spot Yoga! The Park Blvd location is welcoming, inclusive and peaceful. The studio space is clean with beautiful plants and an amazing alter filled with inspirational folks. The schedule is varied with several great and personable teachers leading different types of yoga/workout classes at convenient times. So happy this in my neighborhood and I get to visit throughout the week :) ps. lavender scented face towels at the end of every class are the BEST.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this studio. I've been going here for about 3 weeks now, and every class I am excited to go. All of the teachers have their own teaching styles, so every class is different. It is a really inclusive sense of community as well. The teachers make sure to introduce themselves before each class. Also, it is a good spot for all experience levels. I was very new to yoga when I joined and I didn't feel left out or confused at all during classes, all the teachers make sure to explain everything but also give modifications for people with more advanced practice. Definitely would recommend

I am fairly new to the area and discovered I could walk to Hot Spot Yoga. That's an incredible perk added to my practice. I started with the new student membership (which is a steal) and love it! Each teacher brings their own passion and playlist. I would highly recommend HSY to all stages and ages.

Oh, Hot Spot, you are so lovely.
The studio itself is small. Maybe 20ish students and the studio space was filled to the brim. Having practiced in many teeny studios before, I was just fine tucked in the corner with my face up against a wall and my neighbor basically spooning me (lol #yogiproblems?), but the space issue may be something to consider if you're used to having a ton of buffer space around your mat. I'd also suggest going early to grab a spot in the room if the location matters to you. The instructor walked around the room quite a bit so you could usually see her demonstrating

I deliberated for a long time before writing this review, because Hot Spot is a good studio, but this is just NOT hot yoga. I bought the $55 new student special and went to 5 classes that were listed as being heated. The hearing source is a space heater and I would say that the temp in the room barely makes the mid 70s. Anyone accustomed to genuine hot flow yoga, Bikram, or Core Power will be very disappointed. I sure was.
That said, the classes I attended were great, the vibe was good and the sequences were solid. It just isn't hot yoga. You'd sweat more in any given Yoga To The

Hotspot yoga has been a comfortable experience for me as a beginner.
I have always thought of yoga as a exercise for "in shape" people. My fiance has told me of other benefits from yoga such as stress release and learning awareness.
So my fiance invited me to check out a couple of different classes.
I first tried yin yoga with shandra and then Madoka, both awesome teachers at hotspot, and Yin yoga is perfect for those of you who sit in front of a computer all day or drive for uber/lift.
I then transitioned into Vinyasa classes. I've taken a lot of great classes at the other

LOVE THIS STUDIO & the different styles of yoga& teachers!
I love how no matter what kind of day I'm having I can come to class find relief & happiness on my mat.
I started here as a beginner, looking for holistic pain relief for my chronic back pain, not knowing what a yogi was or any poses... then transformed my whole life, health, attitude, and completed my yoga teacher training.
I've grown so much as a person just by attending HSYO! At Hot Spot, you can come as you are in any shape, size, age, or experience level and you will feel the love peace and warmth of their

ADORE THIS STUDIO!!
Hot Spot creates such a warm and inviting environment. Every teacher at the studio genuinely cares about their students and the community. I've learned so much from this studio.
You automatically feel apart of the family after your 1st vist.
I love the variety of classes Offered here. There are classes for people just starting their yoga practice and for those who've been practicing for 20+ years.
This studio is perfect for all Urban Mystics
& people wanting to take time for self care with like minded individuals.
Come as you are and enjoy the family; I'm so glad I did

While visiting Oakland to see my daughters, this studio and, the owner Adessina, were recommended highly to us. We thoroughly enjoyed the class we took on Thanksgiving morning led by Adessina. She kept us working, laughing, and entertained all while being the consummate professional. She monitored form, gave tips, as well as lots of encouragement. She also created a very friendly environment, encouraging students to greet each other, and there were smiles all around.
I can't wait to come back to Oakland to take more classes.
