Since 1993, Marysville Cooperative Preschool (MCP) has offered Marysville and surrounding communities an independent, parent-operated preschool whose curriculum reflects the latest research in early childhood development. MCP provides a child-led, developmentally appropriate, emergent curriculum in a learning-rich environment for toddlers and preschoolers ages 2 to 5 years.
MCP is located in a facility built specifically for community early childhood education. Separate spaces in our building allow children to engage in various different activities of their choosing. For example, one student can be playing dress-up while another student chooses an art project. A central gathering space for circle time and group activity which may include books, songs, puppets, dancing, felt board stories, group discussion, etc.
There are three classes at MCP that accommodate children from 2 years until they move on to Kindergarten or 1st grade. The Toddler class is for children between 2 years and 3 years of age. The Preschool class is for children ages 3 to 5 years. Below you will find detailed information about each class.
At MCP we understand that each child is unique and has varying needs. We encourage parents to attend class with their child until both feel comfortable with the parent leaving. However, if a child is wearing diapers, arrangements must be made with other parents to cover your child's diaper changing needs on your non-work days.
As preschoolers slowly venture out from their family unit and into the greater community, I believe developing a solid foundation of trust, in themselves and others, is so important! Through a supportive, attentive, and inquisitive environment I hope to encourage children to become courageous in their self-expression and curious about the world at large.

This preschool is great! We’re headed into year 4 and could not ask for a better start for our kiddos. The teachers are aweosme the program through Edmonds community college is supportive and helpful. We love the amount of time each child receives in the class room. The dues are affordable and resonance. There’s no pressure for academics or meeting any kind of standard. The coop mentality and values are truly empowering. The group of parents are the school are positive and upbeat. As a parent I live the coop because I get to be actively involved in my child’s learning. We 100% recommend this

My son participated at Marysville Cooperative Preschool from age 3 to age 5, where he enjoyed the learn-through-play philosophy.
At the same time, I learned the latest research-based parenting skills that are based on respecting the developmental needs of the child. Those same tools that I used on my preschooler, I use on my teenager, but with more complex language.
At age 14, Zachary is an expert at solving conflict between friends, asking for what he needs, being responsible for the impact he has on others, and creatively solving problems until the solution has been found.
