I owe this spot 100 5 star reviews! I've been coming here for 9 years, and it's always wonderful with incredible, kind, gentle, and insightful teachers. They encourage you to listen to your body, so if you need to lie down during the practice or stop to drink as much water as needed, they make you feel comfortable in your choice. This is what is so special about this Bikram studio. They make you feel like a part of the community immediately no matter what level you are.

If you're looking for a physically demanding-yet-spiritual yoga practice, look no further. Yoga Loka takes a soft approach to an otherwise intense Bikram practice. It's a casual studio with a lot of charm--we double-park in the ally and shower outside. Come check out this authentic East Sac gem! Thank you Bill, Michael, Mercury, Sherri, Kally and Kayla.

Love this studio. No frills, good yoga, no judgement with kind and patient teachers. They sell water, have mats and towels to borrow/rent. Parking can be tricky if you park in the alley but you can park on Folsom Blvd easily. Micheal is such a kind and encouraging teacher. My favorite studio in Sacramento.

Went one time to check it out. I've only been to two other studios and this one seems more laid back than the first one I'd ever been too. They're friendly and will help you out when you need it. They accepted the 100% off one class even tho they had never even heard of this offer. Already better than the first place I have had ever tried. Hopefully they can keep my opinion at a five star level! Looking forward to it!

Yoga Loka was my first hot yoga studio experience. I purchased the intro deal at the studio ($30 for 30 days). My first class was on a rainy Saturday morning with a full group. I felt a bit overwhelmed by the amount of people and humidity, but I was assured it wasn't a normal day so I came back that week. With a lighter class and a bit more instruction I instantly fell in love. I tried all of the time slots and instructors and set my routine with Mercury (instructor) in the evenings. He very challenging but corrects you when needed. If you'd like feedback or pointers, definitely ask him

Beware of unethical business practices. After completing a 30 day Groupon promotion I decided to purchase a membership which entailed a monthly withdraw from my bank account of $81. I stupidly gave the owner my bank account information and the monthly withdraws began, on a month-to-month basis. After a few months I realized I was not going as much as I had intended and was wasting my money. So in August of this year I called the owner and requested a discontinuation of the withdraws as I would no longer be attending the classes. He said no problem. A couple of weeks later the $81 was withdrawn

It's been years since I last attended this place but since I'm back in town for a visit and have been battling some anxiety, I thought I'd give it a try again. Low & behold this class was just the trick to center myself and refocus my breathing. The teaching was well guided and the instructor was very helpful to newbies/ born again yogis like myself! Thanks yoga loka!

I started coming to Yoga Loka when my dad bought me the 30-day Unlimited Hot Yoga Groupon. I've been going every day since I started and finally decided I had a good feel for the place so I could write my review. First and foremost, this is a tiny yoga studio (emphasis on tiny). Parking can be a bit of a hassle so I always try down one of the side streets. If you're very lucky you may get a spot out front.
The layout of the studio is a little funky too but it adds to its charm. The men's changing room is located upstairs, behind the front desk. The women's changing room is

I have been attending Yoga Loka since November 2015 after I purchased a Groupon. This place totally change my perception of Yoga and had me wanting to come back, every day. It literally does leave your mind, body, and soul feeling cleansed and free. This place is worthy of 5 stars. But my 3 stars is for their membership policy. I paid a full year membership in advance in January and unfortunately suffered an accident in March causing several torn ligaments in my knee. I called several times leaving messages that were never returned. Luckily, on my last attempt I got a live person. All I asked for

Right off Folsom Boulevard near the Fabulous Forties is Yoga Loka, a funky little yoga studio that feels like being invited into someone's charming home (that happens to have a heating system that goes up to 105 degrees!). I was visiting Sacramento over the holidays and kept up my Bikram practice by trying a couple of studios in town. My aunt joined me as a first-time student. We went to a hot yoga class taught by Michael. His soothing voice and calm demeanor put me and my aunt at ease as we checked in. We paid $16 each for a drop-in class and it sounded like a lot of locals were using Groupon

I think I've been coming here the past 3 years whenever there's a Groupon deal. It used to be $20 for unlimited sessions for a month but the last deal was $32 for a month but Groupon had a deal where you get 20% off any deals so I used it for the yoga deal.
Loka yoga is a small yoga studio is pretty hidden. Its located in the alley next to this pizzeria, right pass Trader Joe off of Folsom Blvd.
When you first walk it, it is quite small and worn down but I think it has character. Typically a instructor will be at the front desk, and you sign in before heading to the dressing room.

I was a little worried at first because I've never done yoga before, let alone hot yoga. But joining Yoga Loka definitely made me realize that it was probably one of the best decisions I've made so far this year. (If it's your first time, show up 30 minutes before the class you're attending)
Instructors: you couldn't believe how wonderful they all are! Right from the very first class I attended, Bill was so welcoming and took the time to make sure I was doing the postures right. This goes for the other instructors I've had the pleasure of having as well! Sandy, Jihong

Quaint, quirky...and HOTTT as hell!
Thank goodness they got rid of their carpet!! Granted, it's been about 8-10 years since I was last there, I was really dreading that gross, smelly, sweat-stained carpet. But lo and behold, they have wood flooring now!
As hippy-esque as it comes. No frills about their studio, but quaint and perfect for what it represents. You walk into, what seems like a side/patio door of a house, and there is minimal spacing for you to hang out. The pseudo desk is like a mini table. Sign in and get ready for what yoga in hell is like (just kidding, kinda).

I'm back. Oh it's like coming home. This place is technically NOT bikram yoga, but HOT YOGA that follows Bikram poses, as stated on the website, which might be why some hardcore Bikram folks may be getting all upset over "being able to leave the room." As a health care provider and someone who's done bodywork for over a decade, I personally find their approach more open, friendly and healthy than the "stay in here and risk heat stroke to get rid of your toxins/go past your comfort zone to the point of injury" attitude that many purist Bikram studios exhibit.
