I came in to get a room and I was turned away and the gentlemen that was working the desk stated that he couldn't get me a room cause I was local. I have never heard of this and it was quite upsetting to me , maybe I was in danger and needed a safe place for the night , or if I had my children with and my car was broke down and needed a warm place for my family , so many reasons why you would need a room. I am very unhappy with your regulations on this policy and I feel it should get changed . I will never send any of my family to stay at any and all grand gateway hotels !! I feel this isn't right

Overall this is a decent property, good sized rooms and clean. There are two issues that you should consider before booking your stay. First, is with the road noise. The hotels proximity to I-90 makes the noise almost unbearable. This is not a "rush hour" problem as truck traffic continues all night long and the crackle of air brakes from the big rigs could wake the dead. Second is the safety of the property, I had not even parked by truck the night of my arrival before I was accosted by a homeless individual. This was not an isolated incident and continued for the duration of my stay. DO NOT go

Water pressure and temp was good, entertainment room was decent, and AC unit worked well. Cheers was closed everyday due to "lack of staff" but Perkins was always open. The beds and pillows were not good, wifi speed was as expected (lets be honest no hotel has good wifi), and the decor could use some improvements. All in all it was a decent place to stay for the week I was there and had a better price than most hotels in the area.

Clean quiet place. Hotel bar was not open. Had signs up saying deep cleaning. Was told it has been closed because of lack of help.

I stayed in this hotel several times in the 80’s when it was a Ramada. I was MUCH younger and traveling with my parents. When planning this trip, I wanted to stay in the place with the water slide. I have so many good memories. I was excited when I found it. I could tell just by the pictures.
Yes, the hotel is dated. But from the areas I saw, it is still well kept. The room included a decent sized fridge and microwave, even a safe, which I was very pleased to see.
In my case, the “sameness” of it added to my glee in staying. I can remember my family and I walking the hallways, going to

The management claimed they don't accept prepaid debit cards, however their incompetent staff allowed me to pay with a card earlier in the day and assured me that I'd be able to check in at 3. So my money was already gone and the room was paid for. Upon checking in I was told I could not stay in their suite mind you not a room but a suite because their policy is they do not accept prepaid debit cards regardless if it comes from a legitimate banking source. They did not even apologize for the mishandling of the situation. Therefore I will not be staying with their establishment and advise any one

Would not recommend this hotel for several reasons. Inaccurate price given by front desk. Stayed 3 nights and was told taxes and everything included. 2 days later and leaving I was charged additional money from my account that I didn’t authorize. When I called they said it was the taxes and other fees that it wasn’t included in room rate pulled on date of arrival. Also, booked a pet friendly room when I arrived the room was unacceptable as it smelled of pets and mold. Two family members have lung problems and would be unable to stay in room. Second room I was moved to was the same and we eventually
