There is nothing wrong with this hotel it is just dated. Think of it as staying with your 90 year old grandma 😉. Everything is clean & works.
Now there is the $20 fee that get tagged onto your price so for a little more money you can be in a newer hotel if the age of this one bothers you.

If you are looking for just a place to sleep since you will be gone majority of the day for adventures like Mt Rushmore, hiking, hunting, etc...then this is one of the top 3 places in Rapid City to stay at since it's one of the cheapest. I only stayed one night and was gone all of the day for my adventures. So this was a good place just to act as shelter for the night. There's nothing really special about this place. Place is outdated for sure. Old furniture and decor. I had a 2 bed bedroom. Spacious enough and much cleaner than I expected to be honest but I did see a big stain on one

We were too tired to totally care and change rooms. Our switches didn't work. There were rilly Polly's in the bathroom. My bed wasn't clean had black hair in it . Slept on top. Floor wasn't vaccumed. It was clean and I have no complaints. Locals told me we were staying in the bad part of town, but compared to where we live that place is TAME. Walmart is right down the road, there's a perkins restaurant in the parking lot to eat. They have breakfast foods in the morning including a Jimmy D's microwave sandwich available at the front desk. The beds were very soft which hurt my back but I sleep on a hard mattress. There's a small pool that we never used as well. Housekeeping was pleasant and they took good care of us for the week we were there. All in all it's not the Hilton, but the price was

This hotel is older and dated in decor (carpet coming up in places, blue shower, water droplets on the back of the bathroom door...). There is no elevator. Vending and soda machines are on the first floor only. Breakfast consists of bagels or cereal. The pool is outdoor. The beds and pillows were, in my opinion very uncomfortable. I didn't really enjoy my stay, and when in the area again, I would probably choose another hotel. With that said, the older lady who checked us in was a sweetheart. She had a pleasant attitude and was kind to my daughter and I. When we just wanted a couple bottles of

I wasn't expecting much from a small inn where we were staying just for the weekend, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The service and ambiance was better even than some big-name hotels we've been to in bigger cities. The place is cozy, quaint, and has a family feel. There is free coffee available at the lobby all day, as well as free breakfast. The breakfast consists of cereal, oatmeal, and bread, but it's something with which to start your day. You can't complain when it's free! The staff are all so nice and kind, they really have that midwestern charm. The

Great prices. Facility is a little dated and out of style, but it's clean and safe and close to many amenities. Only complaint is that the website didn't mention there's an extra charge for pets, nor did it ask if I was bringing pets when I booked online. Almost didn't have a pet friendly room for me but the nice girl at the desk got it sorted out. Had I known it was going to be $40 for my two dogs, I wouldn't have brought them. Oh well, now I know for future stays.

Very nice spacious and clean rooms, and believe under normal circumstances, we would have been somewhat pleased. I don't know if their Wifi has weak signal or they have it set up so video streaming is limited. It was not the hotel's fault that a water main broke, causing water not to work in the toilets, showers, and sinks; however, I feel it was a situation worthy of calling guests rather than sliding a paper under the door. Maybe other guests would disagree with me on this point, but I, didn't appreciate having to get dressed to drive up to the nearest gas station to use the

A Home Away From Home ~ Our family stayed for 3 nights and the staff was very accommodating. With 6 of us, they let us move tables around so we could play cards and didn't seem to mind all of the family competition!! The Inn had an older look to it but that is what I loved the most about it. The stairs were my favorite feature. The King rooms were the perfect size for visiting and lounging in the evening. I would absolutely recommend this Inn to anyone traveling thru Rapid City.

Stayed here for a couple nights and genuinely enjoyed it! The lady who checked me in was very sweet and I enjoyed the local feel of the Inn.
The room was very nice and spacious in size. The bed was comfortable and the TV had a wide selection of channels. I enjoyed the tub, as it gave me the chance to take a relaxing bubble bath. Water pressure was GREAT!!!
Breakfast in the morning was nice. They have cereal, oatmeal, and Jimmy Dean egg and sausage biscuits. I would’ve enjoyed if they had yogurt and fruit as well, but compared to other covid era breakfasts at other hotels, this one was good

Stayed at this hotel while I worked. Planned on staying for a week, but had to leave early. Apparently, since I'm a minority, I don't belong there. Assuming I had no money but walking around with a $1000 on me. They way the little girl spoke to me at the front desk was very belittling, but the manager thought it was acceptable. His eyes were so shifty like he was on something. I signed for a rate, and apparently someone made a mistake. Instead of honoring it , like they legally should have, I was verbally attacked. Put down in front of customers. The girl at the desk was screaming like

I found this place on hotels.com and it was at a reasonable price. The hotel itself is a bit dated but the service was great and the room (king room) was nice. The room as a bit dated as well but the set up was nice. The room has a coffee maker, microwave, fridge, hair dryer, flat screen TV that moved around and the room had space. The bathroom was set up where the sink was on the outside of the 'bathroom' and the toilet and shower were behind the closed door. The only thing I would say is negative is that on hotels.com it stated 'soaking tub'....it was a standard tub. I can

For the price, this place is actually a great road trip stop!
We came through in the summer when everything in Rapid City was CRAZY inflated. This hotel was the cheapest we could find that still had a decent rating. We were not expecting a whole lot, but I have to say it was pretty decent all around!

The room was dated, but it was clean and that is the most important. It had a big fridge, microwave, TV and super retro blue bathroom which is almost so vintage it's cool again.

We got a room on the ground floor that had a small patio area with 2 plastic chairs and faced the outdoor pool. This

Awesome serendipitous discovery as I spotted to see Mount Rushmore as part of my Tesla Great American West Road Trip 2017. Clean, friendly, with great Wi-Fi, what more could one ask for? Highly recommended.

This was a nice hotel. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. We reserved a room next to the pool and enjoyed our stay. The pool was a bit small but very enjoyable for our son. Very good location for Mt. Rushmore, Jewel Cave and Custer State Park. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Just some milk and a few cereals and a toaster for bagels. We didn't even get any coffee because it wasn't made. We would stay again at this small business and enjoyed it for the price. Easy in and then out for this family of four.

Three stars simply because the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

After that, it's a somewhat run down, dated old hotel. For the price, I would have expected more, but for an overnight... Purpose served. At least they let us put bikes under the awning out front because "it's the only place with cameras"

Not sure I'd be OK with this for a longer stay, but it is what it is. We used Booking.com for the room and it was "over-sold", so they put us in a downstairs room, so maybe that made the difference. Either way, just not sure it'd be the place

This is more like a 2.5ish review, because although the room was a-ok, breakfast and wifi were free, and the price was right (get that AAA discount), they had our arrival date wrong when we booked over the phone, so we were charged for a no-show in addition to our stay. It took almost a week before they reversed the charge. The manager didn't put up a big fight about it, luckily, but it was a lot of stress for me since I had to keep following up with them for a few days while I was on vacation elsewhere.

I would probably still recommend this hotel as an option when visiting Mount Rushmore
