Jen is owner and director of Lotus. She is 500 hour certified in the Hatha tradition and has practiced yoga for over 20 years. Jen teaches from a place of compassion and believes in exploring the deep mind/body connection. She encourages awareness of how the body works, incorporating mindful movements that will allow the practitioner to find strength, an open heart, and a clear mind.
Betsy has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. In 2012, during a fabulous girls' weekend in Georgia, she decided to make the commitment to become a yoga teacher. She started her training that year and completed her 200 hour certification with Jen in August of 2013. Betsy was in nursing for almost 40 years and a nurse practitioner since 1998.
Bob started practicing yoga in Dallas in the 1980's, but got out of the habit while raising his two children. After watching his aging parents' balance and range of motion decline, he decided that when he got old he was going to be an agile, sharp witted little yogi. He got back into yoga and practiced many different styles at many different studios in the Dallas area until he found Lotus and knew that he had finally found his "yoga home".
Liz is a dancer and choreographer with a BA in Art and Performance from the University of Texas at Dallas and an MS in Healthcare Administration. She took her first yoga class in college and obtained her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification in 2019 through Lotus Yoga Dallas with Jennifer Hensley. Experiencing some of the negativity in the dance world, she embraces the light and love she has received in the yoga community.

Lotus has become my home away from home. The day I moved to Dallas, I came to my first class here after driving across the country and have loved it ever since. For almost four years, Lotus has been my go-to place for both yoga and a wonderful supportive community after a long work day. I've made multiple great friends through classes and look forward to seeing the familiar faces. Jen does an amazing job of keeping the yoga classes fun, approachable, not stuffy at all, and affordable! I highly recommend Lotus to anyone in East Dallas looking for a yoga studio.

I tried this studio out for 7days/$7 how awesome is that? I LOVE it!!! I have a lot of injuries and this studio is very accepting of where you are in your practice and honoring your body. It's not about being the most powerful yogi in the room or doing all the poses, instead they really focus on giving personal attention and taking care of you. I don't want to tell everyone too much because I don't want this place to get packed,(kidding...kinda)! I come from years at Sunstone and so I will update more as I break away from hot yoga and transition to this. I really love the teachers

I have been going now for about three weeks. In that time I've lost three pounds and gotten off blood pressure medication AND anti-inflammatories. Besides being so healthy, it's just a lot of fun. Jennifer is so creative in her poses. I learn so much in every class. It's always new and different. Michelle is also an incredible instructor for restorative yoga. Having the both of them throughout the week is such good cross training: Jennifer for strengthening and Michelle for replenishment.
