Hi, I'm Bob Moody, a Licensed and Certified Maryland Home Inspector and owner of Diligent Home Inspections.
I have a wealth of experience in the construction industry over many years, starting out as a carpentry apprentice to owning a home improvement business, performing home energy audits, installing home improvements as a sub-contractor, and writing specifications for and supervising commercial and industrial concrete repairs and rehabilitation for a local chemical manufacturing company.

I employ a thermal imager in an assortment of applications during the inspection; from identifying moisture intrusion into the home from outside sources or from interior plumbing leaks, to inspecting radiant heating systems and evaluating radiator performance, or to check for air leaks and inadequate or missing insulation.An aerial drone can be especially helpful in instances where a roof cannot be accessed safely.

Bob Moody arrived right on time to inspect a house we were considering purchasing. He showed his identification and went to work immediately explaining what his service would cover and what it might not. Purchasing a house we had been living in as a rental for several years and wanted some peace of mind before we made such a large purchase. Bob was that piece of mind. He came highly recommended by a friend he more then earned that recommendation. Thorough, knowledgeable, and professional are, as others have said, exactly how I would describe Mr. Moody. We recently had him perform a home inspection where he was kind enough to explain both what he saw, as well as, share general home maintenance information. Along with the detailed inspection report Bob included recommendations of local contracting companies to contact for further follow up. We had a great experience with Bob. He was on time and professional. Also, he was very thorough and paid attention to every little detail. Bob practically bent over backwards and looked in every nook and cranny, in places I would never have thought to check. I don’t think we could have found a better inspector. Bob was great to have professionally and is very easy to talk to especially for a novice first time home owner like myself. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a home inspector.

Bob was exceptional. He was professional, meticulous, and pleasant through his inspection. I was expecting a quick pass through the renovated house, but he was patient and took the time to clearly explain what he was doing to do and how he would use his drone, thermal camera, and other tools to thoroughly survey the property.
By the time he had finished, I fully understood what he was looking for and what his recommendations would be. Nothing on the final report was a surprise or unreasonable. We will certainly use his service for our next home inspection and will recommend him to all of our friends

Bob went above and beyond on our new build. As a FTHB, he showed us the ins and outs of our new house and gave us professional advice on maintenance and upkeeping. He was honest with everything and was very thorough with his inspections. Bob was on site early and we even rescheduled our inspections even though he was already on site because the house wasn't completely done by the builders. He recommended it at his own expense and had my best interest in mind. Extremely professional! He was more than "diligent" in his services and I would refer him to anyone looking for a reliable and honest service

During our home-buying experience in preparation for moving to Baltimore, Bob walked us through the home inspection process in a professional and personable manner. He did not mind me accompanying him at every step of the inspection. Throughout, he patiently explained everything he did and found. Thus, I learned a lot about the house I would be calling home and felt more comfortable with the purchase being made. And the pens! The pens he gives you with the inspection are amazing.
