We sent one of our company vehicles here to be fixed. After not repairing the vehicle for almost six weeks we were told it was because it was the normal time to have a vehicle for summer time in sag harbor. They day we went to pick up the truck he decided to eat his lunch when we arrived and proceeded to have myself and another employee wait a hour until he finished eating. Anyone with positive feedback is definitely friend or family from the area. The guy is completely rude and disrespectful. Absolutely crooks. I went to get my car tires filled with air. I asked for help, and they took my car for a joy ride, and refused to give me my car back unless I paid them $60 for filling with air after I tipped them $10 for filling it with air. Had to have my husband come get my keys back because they refused to give me my car keys unless I signed some document.

I have just had the most unpleasant experience with B&B Auto Service located at 144 Hampton St. Gulf Gas Station today (8-2-21). I called them earlier today for an appointment and was told that it would take 30 minutes to repair. I dropped off my car. After waiting for two hours, the car was still not ready. When I pointed out this is taking much longer than what I was promised, I was told by the owner that "I cut into his lunch break" and "patience is a virtue". Following his incredible rudeness, he charged me for $145 for one tire repair. I had visited them in Winter 2021

I brought in my car for an inspection which they failed due to old tires, windshield wiper was partially torn (2" of a ~18" blade), etc. Bobby said he is super focused on safety and told me to fix those items plus an oil change would be $1,100. Having previously experienced garages trying to rip me off for unnecessary repairs during a routine inspection, I said I would fix it at my regular garage that doesn't do inspections. Besides, both Bobby and his colleague Lisa had both told me "Bobby doesn't the money"...

Bobby is now at the Gulf station outside Sag Harbor. My advice is to insist on getting an estimate before getting ripped off. He was more expensive than if I took the car to the dealership for the repair. Just saying. I don't wish him harm but being upfront is important in business and not taking advantage of customers if you want them to return.

The positive reviews here for B&B Auto must be compensated locals. There is something wrong going on here. We couldn't get a straight answer out of him about whether he looked at the car, what was wrong with the car, etc. I think there's a certain approach taken to tourists and another with locals. If you're a tourist and the auto repair place on the main street in Montauk is too busy to fix your car, have it towed to another town.

B & B Auto Service is the place to go for any repairs you might need. They literally saved us when we had some brake problems before leaving town. They provided expert analysis with quality service and all of this was done for us in an emergency situation. I recommend Bob and his crew at B & B whether you are in town or need work and are from out of town. Engine light turned on after jeep compass was stalling on my way out from Brooklyn. The owner Bobby was a no nonsense kinda guy, good humor. I was in a bind for a quick turnaround only being in Montauk for 3 nights. Bobby gave me a comprehensive diagnostic and quote in about 24 hours and proactively had the engine mount shipped. I opted to get the critical components fixed, left some others for another time. He and his team stayed about 3 hours late on a weekend and i had the jeep back Saturday night.

This was the second time B&B Auto has gotten me outta a jam. The first time a few years ago my vw windshield wipers had rotted and I couldn't find the correct replacement at the hardware store in town or that other auto place on the main drag. My 1998 low-mileage Volvo had the blower burn out on the way out to Montauk for vacation. A bummer because I was on a tight budget. Stopped by B+B after closing time on a Saturday night and was greeted warmly (scoring points right there), where the office clerk took my VIN#, and description of what I thought was the problem (from reading my owner's manual) Told me to come back Monday morning, and they would take a look. My car was towed here after it was totaled in an accident (the police called B&B to tow it). I called the next day to find out what needed to happen and the employee didn't even know if the car was there. She said she'd find out and call me back, but never did. I called later in the day to see if she'd found it and she said she had, and would get back to me about a price. I asked (twice) if she would call before they closed that day, she assured me she would, but surprise! Never did.

No stars!!! Awful place! I wish I read these reviews beforehand. B&B is so unethical and unprofessional. It's a wonder they are still in business. They should be shut down. Terrible experience. Disgusting owners and organization. Do yourselves a favor an avoid these money-hungry liars like the plague. They took our car in for inspection, kept it for days, then announced it would be $400 to pass and when we said that we'd take elsewhere they damaged the car! They should be in jail. Complete crooks!
