Palm Yoga
Palm Yoga is a boutique studio that offers a specific style of yoga instruction to our clients. We believe that knowing and practicing proper alignment in the poses allows the body and mind to unite (the actual meaning of the word yoga), creating health and healing on many levels. Rebecca Wood, the owner, has been practicing and teaching yoga for over 17 years.

For more information about her training and background, check out her teacher page. To further our yoga mission of helping any person interested in yoga to have a safe and productive practice, we installed a state of the art, one-of-a-kind Yoga Wall designed to assist students in learning the poses.
Services
Palm Yoga Classes for Beginners classes are 60 minutes long. In these classes, you will learn how to breathe as well as the details of each pose and how to perform poses properly. Yoga for Beginners classes focus on building strength and flexibility in the legs, hips and spine. We use props in YFB to have the pose fit your body, not vice versa.
Yoga for Beginners Technique (YFBT): In these classes, you will learn how to breathe as well as the details of the poses and how to perform them properly. We use props in YFBT to have the pose fit your body, not vice versa. This is very important, especially if you have special needs or injuries. Your instructor will offer both verbal and physical adjustments to help you experience the best pose possible for each student.
All Levels Technique: This class is a step up from our Yoga for Beginners class. Here you will refine the basic poses, learn new poses, and understand how to apply what you learn in class to life outside the studio. All Levels also introduces new breathing techniques (pranayama) to students and incorporates some meditation instruction, as well.
Level 1 & 2 Yoga Technique: You are expected to know the basics of the poses in these classes as we delve deeper into the poses and anatomical movement. Level 1 & 2 Yoga Technique students relearn the basics at a deeper level and get the opportunity to practice more complicated forward bends, back bends and twists, arm balances and inversions.
The Palm Yoga Flow classes are a place for you to practice the form and function of the poses learned in our Technique classes. The pace is faster than our technique classes because you will flow from one pose into the next without as much instruction, sometimes through a vinyasa and sometimes not.

Becky and her instructors are great. They take their time and explain the poses and offer alternate ways to fit the individuals needs. We look forward to going each time to learn something new.

I am grateful for Palm Yoga! I have been going since February and have regained mobility thanks to their phenomenal instructors. I was in a car accident and had a challenging time with pain and healing. Palm Yoga has aided me in my healing. The beginners yoga class is wonderful and the instructors instinctually know when to come to your aid and offer alternative positions. They actively listen to your needs and gingerly motivate you to continue your Yoga practice. I recommend that you take advantage of their free try out. I additionally recommend that you try different instructors to find chemistry

This yoga studio has been such a good experience because I haven't done yoga in 10 years. The teachers are very patient and calm. Their demeanor and patience is conducive to learning without the feeling of pressure because of speed. Each student is helped individually and accommodations are made to help each become successful. Poses are demonstrated then taught. I am really happy with how I feel when I leave each class; calm, refreshed and peaceful. I do wish they offered more classes on certain days.

Great place to learn Rebecca, Ryan and their staff are the best! I'm a recent graduate of their USF Health Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Yoga (Helping Veterans). I got assigned to the Yoga program, but since I signed up with the intention of doing Jiu Jitsu at first I'll be honest I did not wanted got continued. However, I'm glad I did and followed through with it because the practice helped tremendously with my anxiety and sleep issues to the point that I no longer need to take medications given by the VA as often to treat the symptoms. The best thing about is that they also provided the opportunity

I have been taking yoga classes from Palm Yoga for over 3 years and have found it to be one of the best experiences of my life. I have become much more flexible and agile and have learned a lot about how to reduce stress with different breathing techniques. Becky is an excellent instructor and takes an interest in each students needs.

There is no comparison from the yoga Becky teaches and yoga classes I have taken in the past. Past yoga classes at gyms or with "wanna be" instructors consisted of a sweaty up dog down dog type exercise with little if no instruction, while you gaze over at the limber person who can bend themselves like a pretzel.
At Palm Yoga we use the supplied props to work ourselves into different stretches and poses with instruction which allows us to get the maximum benefit with whatever flexibility you have.
I always have and will continue to recommend Palm Yoga to any one interested in yoga.

The classes at palm yoga is great - I get the flow on Mondays and technique on Wednesdays. The classes are structured which helps me get into the pose the right way. They provide alternatives when the pose is tough to get into. What I like about Palm Yoga is they make my practice valuable - my body gets the satisfaction it needed after a days work sitting and on the computer all day. The studio is well equipped with props and the yoga wall - a wonderful thing to hang & stretch your entire body without the effort. I've been coming to Palm Yoga for years now and my body truly enjoys the benefits

I have been a client of Palm Yoga since Jan 2010. I suffered a mild stroke in 2008 and someone suggested for me take up yoga. Did my research, found Palm Yoga and it has been a true blessing in my life. I spoke with Rebecca (the owner) and she welcomed me. I love her warm spirit. I was a little afraid at first, but Rebecca modified each 'yoga move' to suit me and I have improved tremendously with my balancing, flexibility, and strength. I also have learned how to relax more, and breathe; being stress-less as possible. I started out having to used two chairs but within 8 months I was on the floor

I've been a member for two years and can't believe how much better I feel. Becky, Robin and Donna are fantastic instructors. I get individualized attention in making my poses the best they can be, and don't know how they have the patience to continually give me hope that someday I will be able to do a tree pose without falling over. (we now know for a fact that a tree falling on a yoga mat does make a sound).
I'm stronger, more flexible and more fit than I have been in years (I am not a spring chicken by any stretch of the imagination). There are people of all ages in our classes. If I could lose

I have been going to Palm Yoga for a little over a year and I LOVE IT! I love how individualized they are....they get to know your issues and work with you in order for you to have a beneficial experience and don't make you feel left out if you aren't able to stand on your head yet. All the instructors do equally well at encouraging you to do what you can while motivating you to challenge yourself. I am only able to go once a week for now but I definitely feel a difference with my body AND mind. You get to know the instructors and the regular classmates and I feel like I belong to a little yoga
