Harvest Table Restaurant
At The Harvest Table, we work with seasonal produce and meats from local and regional sources, offering the best of each season. Our creative recipes are designed to highlight freshness and quality. We favor real foods prepared in a healthy way; nothing on our menu is deep fat fried. We prefer to serve foods with a low carbon footprint.

All our meats are pasture-raised and finished, and our trout comes from a sustainably farmed source in North Carolina. In addition to the produce grown on our own Harvest Table Farm, we offer the products from over 50 regional farmers, gardeners and ranchers. Even our beer & wine menu is from local and regional sources, offering wines, beers, and hard ciders from Virginia.
Services
Our menu changes daily, which means we cook our meals from scratch. Our kitchen is stocked with fresh ingredients, and our creative chefs happily accommodate those with special dietary needs. Dietary restrictions should not keep anyone from having the experience of farm to table dining at the Harvest Table.
The Harvest Table Farm is located about two and a half miles from the restaurant, nestled among the rolling meadows of the town so aptly named Meadowview. The farm sits on 3.5 acres of land where our farm managers, the Root family, reside. The farm was developed as an addition to The Harvest Table Restaurant in 2010 to meet the specific needs of our dedicated farm-to-table operation.
The farm serves as an educational center for growers new and seasoned, young and old. Our farm would not be a success without the help from seasonal farm workers. Each one brings invaluable ideas. As they learn from our methods, we learn from them. The farm is ever-evolving towards a completely sustainable operation that preserves the health of the land and invests in the health of our community.
Our newest locally sourced take n' bake is now available. Try our delicious frozen pizza take n' bake in your own home! This take n' bake costs only $12 for Goat Cheese Mozzarella and $13 for Pepperoni. Each pizza contains local ingredients and comes in a large 14 inch size. The pizzas will also be available for purchase at Blue Hills Market in Abingdon, VA.

Stopped by during our road trip for lunch. The location was extremely convenient for us as it's right off the I81.
I had carrot ginger soup (the soup of the day) and house salad. Both were delicious and fresh. My husband liked his pimento sandwich as well. We shared a carrot cake which was one of the best carrot cakes I've had in my life. It was a bit pricey, $9, but I think it's because the portion was huge and definitely too big for one person.
There is a cute little shop attached to the restaurant. It was interesting and fun to look around as well.
Overall, recommend this place.

Excellent service, wonderfully seasoned food and cute little store attached to get gifts or little snacks for the road. Great location right off of 81 for road trips. They also serve wine and beer. Great little spot in a sleepy little town.

This is a wonderful little place. We were looking for a late breakfast or early lunch and got both. The shop was very cool, filled with lots of things from local artists. The restaurant was excellent! Not what we expected in a small town with not a lot around. The staff was friendly and the service was great. The food was excellent as well! I had the steak omelet and my wife had the steak soup and a salad. It's very cool they source everything locally. Don't know if we will ever be traveling through this part of the country again, but if we are we will stop in.

Stopped in for a good local meal while driving Hwy 81. Wow, much better than expected. Great flavor, unique dishes and the Sunday brunch portions were larger than we could finish. Great local business.

We were allowed to try the grapes growing above our table, which was really cool. They were delicious and didn’t taste like the ones in the store. The shop was nice and had a lot of local stuff. The food was local and just a really great lunch, and it’s super close to the interstate. Can’t complain!

Excellent farm fresh and local. We just added this to our regular stop when traveling in SW VA. The food is wonderful and the people are so friendly. We had chicken salad on freshly baked bread with farm fresh salads topped with homemade dressing. My favorite- the coffee.

Excellent farm-to-table food concept, you definitely get what you're paying for in terms of quality. My waiter was a little head-in-the-clouds but sometimes you just have days like that. Friendly service regardless, with everything from the ingredients, to the beer and coffee being as locally sourced as possible. Recommend stopping here if you're in the area.

The food is so delicious and fresh. New dishes are always being added to the menus. We were happy that they have a few vegetarian options. Have you ever seen a persons face who is totally 💯 % enjoying the taste of a dish? Well I see that look often their lol! We will be bringing our entire family and guests! It’s so nice to have a place that offers home cooking instead of commercial restaurants finally!

We used to frequent the Harvest Table when Philip Hargrove was there. Our Wedding was in Meadowview so, we thought it would be a great place to go to for our Wedding Rehearsal, BIG MISTAKE!!! We had a reservation for around 17 people and we were assigned two servers. It took over 30 minutes to get drinks, each person had to ask for a refill when… needed and most didn’t even get one, the food…fair at the best. Our son and nephew’s hamburgers were RAW and when I say raw, I mean brown on the outside and raw ground beef in the middle. It was not noticed until he had already

A diamond of a find 2 minutes off Route 81. Fab farm to table restaurant using only produce and quality meats, fish from a 50 mile radius. Daily menu changes. Delicious scallop and trout chowder and their burgers are to die for. American - but not that type of cheese of course! With bacon, onion, lettuce and aioli. And the Black & Bleu - with fab blue cheese. Delicious. Serves breakfast too, southern grits & sausage & gravy. A must stop place with a charming store attached selling local artisan wares and local foods. Barbara kingsolver fans are in for a nice surprise with her books for sale here

We happened to find Harvest Table Restaurant on a long trip to Florida. Absolutely loved this place and its food. It is hard to find "Real Food" on a long interstate trip filled with fast food, so this was a… pleasant surprise. Thanks and come visit our Biodynamic Dairy Farm in NY State -
