It's an exciting time for this charming and unique property, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel has recently celebrated its centennial anniversary. The Monte Vista Hotel is located just outside Asheville in Black Mountain and is home to a lush landscape, world-class dining, arts and entertainment.
Our Lodge Queen rooms are cozy, rustic rooms in Lodge Annex, added to the Monte Vista Hotel in the 1950s. We have fourteen Lodge Queen rooms available. We have one set of two Lodge Queen Rooms that connect via an interior door. This is a good option for families who would prefer to have a television.
Most guestrooms at the Monte Vista Hotel contain one queen or king bed. For groups or families with children, we do have a few additional options. These rooms are in very high demand, especially on weekends from April through October, so please plan to book well in advance of your intended arrival date!
We look forward to helping you experience everything this area has to offer. From world-class outdoor sports to family-friendly activities in our mountain rivers, forests and trails, the options are virtually limitless. Our region is also a food-lovers paradise, and the depth in award-winning chefs rivals any city, large or small, in the country.

It's a beautiful little hotel, friendly staff and nice decor. We did have a few issues with our stay. First, there is no TV in the room. We weren't expecting that. Second, we selected this hotel because it had a bar, but the bar was closed 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. Overall nice but I probably won't stay again.

Wonderful, accommodating staff (requested an early check-in and my room was waiting for me), interesting hotel with plenty of places to hang out and explore. I enjoyed the privacy but then again I was there mid-week. The room was simple but spotless and cozy. I could hear music and voices drifting up from the first floor but it didn't bother me. (If total silence is your preference, there are a few chain motels nearby.) Not to mention the Beekman 1802 amenities in the bath. I loved it!

The hotel is gorgeous! But the little things added up which bothered us. The room didn’t have a phone so you have to call the staff on your cell phone or walk up to the front, the tub didn’t drain properly, and the walls are a bit thin. The staff was all SO very nice, especially Ren who checked us in. The lack of views is a little disappointing too if that’s what you’re looking for. Manage your expectations if you’re planning on staying here - it’s not a bad experience by any means though.

Nice older hotel with restaurant downstairs. Staff seemed friendly and bed was comfortable. If you are younger or looking for a TV or central air then this might not be the place for you. Also the floors are super loud. If your upstairs neighbor is walking you will hear it. No cooked breakfast options

If you are as spoiled as we are, this historic hotel is not the place for you.
The rooms are clean and the staff is wonderful and that’s about all I can say that’s positive.
There is no elevator so if stairs are a problem for you, you are in trouble. Just so you know, there is no one to help you with your luggage.
The room was as stark as I have ever seen. No TV, no coffee pot, no microwave, refrigerator or safe. No night stand. No telephone. No USB ports. The bathroom has zero counter space so getting ready is a challenge. The floors squeak, the small queen size bed creaks. If you do more

We stayed at The Monte Vista sort of on accident, but we will go out of our way to stay here again since it is a short drive off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The front desk associate (Wren) was an absolute delight and went out of their way to make our stay great. The in-house restaurant was closed during our stay so we zipped down the street and grabbed a wood fired pizza, and sat on the patio between The Monte Vista and the Red Art Gallery and watched the bats come out for the night and fly (way) overhead. The rooms are nice, comfortable, and vintage-inspired. Think of The Monte Vista as somewhere

On balance our stay was OK. The ambiance gets a 5 for a nicely restored historic inn (1919). The comfort rating is only 2. The rooms are small with only one wicker chair. There is no handicap access. Be prepared to drag your luggage up to third floor stairway. There is one thermostat per floor so you have no control of room comfort (we were freezing). At least the bed was comfortable. The food gets a 4 star. They do have a very nice attached restaurant on the first floor.
