T L Spa & Wellness was born out of the love between mother and daughter. While Tyrla and her sister were growing up, Linda put herself through school as a single mom. She started her own practice, and Tyrla always looked up to Linda's strong work ethic and the relationships she had with her clients.

The daily grind takes its toll on our skin and bodies. As women, we work so hard, giving and giving to our work, our families, our friends, our commitments. It's who we are, and it's who we want to be. But when you're starting to show the effects of that work on your skin, maybe it's time to slow down, if only for an hour, and focus on you.
Acne is an inherited inflammatory skin condition, medically known as retention hyperkeratosis, which is a build up of too many dead skin cells inside the pore. A normal skin cell sheds one layer of dead skin cells a day, where as an acne-prone skin cell will shed 5 or more layers of dead skin cells a day.
We provide expert waxing and use only European hard and soft wax made with raw ingredients of the highest quality. The use of this high quality wax provides maximum effectiveness in the removal of all unwanted hair, from stubborn coarse hair to the finest fuzz. Our wax is more gentle on the skin, less painful and doesn't leave residue.

Tyrla and Linda are both amazing! I don't live in San Diego anymore, but I lived there for many years, and Tyrla was my waxing MVP!! She is amazing! She always did a terrific job, used wonderful products and best of all is among the kindest people I have ever met. When she took maternity leave, her mom Linda stepped right in and did a great job, and was a hoot to talk to! Tyrla is also a wonderful facialist. Best of all, Tyrla and Linda are honest, good people. You will look -- and feel better -- each time you visit.

Hands down the best spa/services/people EVER! Tyrla truly goes above and beyond for her clients, she is extremely well educated in her craft and she makes me feel totally relaxed and beautiful (even during Brazilians. That's how you know she's super good :) ). Some added bonuses: booking online is a breeze, there are always awesome skincare products available, Tyrla always has new cutting edge techniques/ cool gadgets to maximize results and prices are sooo good for the services you receive. I love TL Spa & I will forever be a customer.

Tyrla is AMAZING! I first went there because I bought a Groupon, but I kept coming back because of Tyrlas professionalism and enjoyable conversations. I have been going to Tyrla for almost 15 years!! (Almost monthly!) She is always professional but welcoming. She has truly become a friend over the years. I recommend Tyrla to anyone! I've gotten to know her over the past 3 years for different services and she's the best. She's kind, welcoming, and knows how to keep conversation light and engaging. She's professional, treats you like a friend, and always gives great beauty advice! I look forward to my monthly appointment with her. she truly does it all and takes care of you! The facilities are so nice and relaxing, and they have great products but don't oversell. Tyrla and her mom run the spa and you can tell by how much of their heart goes into everything they do. I went to Tyrla for a Brazilian wax, and she was great! She was gentle, and did a thorough job at removing everything, including tweezing any strays at the end. We had a friendly conversation throughout, which helped distract me from the pain. She even sent me a handwritten card in the mail to thank me for coming in- such a sweet gesture, which goes to show that she cares about her clients and values their business. I will definitely be back.

Such a beautiful and well decorated salon. Peaceful, tranquil and relaxing.
I had my Brazilian done for the first time and she did an amazing job. Very little discomfort. I would highly recommend this salon for facials, waxing and massage. They use only the highest grade of products and have high personal integrity. Will be a lifelong client.

A little gem in a busy town. The atmosphere is cozy, calm and beautiful, the staff are attentive, caring and sweet. The spa offers a wonderful array of services from daily care to transforming your body and health. I would recommend a visit to Tyrla, she's beautiful inside and out and cares about everyone she meets. Her knowledge and skills as an aesthetician and business owner set her apart from all others. First timer for a Brazilian wax here ! T L Spa and Wellness were quick to respond and I was able to schedule a next day appointment without any problem. I'm not going to lie and say that my first Brazilian wax experience didn't hurt because it was definitely painful but totally tolerable. Tyrla made my experience so much better as well through her outstanding customer service and comfort. Loved this place and I'm glad I came here for my first wax! Thank you T L Spa and Wellness!!!

TL Spa is the best Ive been to in San Diego. I've seen Tyrla for waxing for years and she is among the best estheticians out there! The brazilian wax is as painless as Ive ever experienced. But its the customer service that keeps me coming back; highly professional and friendly. I would recommend TL Spa again and again, I wont be going anywhere else.

This is my number one place for waxing. I will not go anywhere else. The pricing is decent and it's in a good central location. The facilities are always clean, presentable, and inviting. Not to mention their service is excellent (thank you Tyrla!). They are professional, fun-loving, and very welcoming. I would highly recommend coming here!

I have been loyal to TL Spa for years...dare I say 5+ years? Tyrla can correct me if I am wrong. Tyrla is the reason why - she makes me comfortable, is efficient and clean. I love Tyrla, she's easy to talk to and is a perfectionist. She uses hard wax, which is less painful. Facials are relaxing. Thanks to Ellene for recommending Tyrla years ago. I end my appointment with a sweet hug and sometimes...a piece from the candy bowl.
I've also been here for massages with Linda, who is the spunkiest, coolest lady! I really like this duo :)

Heidi is my wife's acupuncture therapist. She's done an amazing job with her for about... 2 years now I think. But back then she was working somewhere else. My wife like Heidi and followed her to her new gig, so I definitely recommend this place.
Parking usually isn't that bad, but Sundays are kind of touch and go, especially cuz the "Mexican mall" (I can say that cuz I'm Mexican and I shop there) [Kobey's swapmeet] is right next door and the overrated Phil's BBQ share the same parking lot, makes it kind of hard to find parking. So plan accordingly.
