Dr. Lynn Polonski has been performing cataract surgery since 1997 and have performed perhaps close to 8,000 of these surgeries with excellent results. A cataract is a common condition that causes a clouding of the eye's natural lens, and affects millions of people each year, including more than half of all Americans over the age of 65.
Cloudiness develops as a result of a buildup of protein in the lens. Cataracts cause a progressive, painless loss of vision. The lens clouds naturally as we age, causing people over the age of 65 to see a gradual reduction of vision. The exact cause of cataracts is unknown, although it may be a result of age, injury, certain medications, illnesses (such as diabetes), prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light and smoking.

This place is very difficult to find. Google maps tells you it's in the opposite side of the road. The parking lot itself is a giant cluster of madness. I finally located the office and came in to be greeted by very friendly staff. She hands me a clipboard of paperwork to fill out... mind you, I'm here because my eyes are messed up. The papers are small in front and has a few black lines thru the text! This made reading what I needed to fill out a big challenge. Hopefully I did it right

So far my experience has been very good with one exception. It’s quite nice in there and I didn’t have to wait long at all both times I went. The techs, staff and one of the younger male doctors was absolutely amazing (I think Dr Anteone)?
Also Dr Weintraubs assistant was lovely and personable but Dr Weintraub herself was not great. Not very friendly, barely looked at me and just overall not personable at all. Didn’t even do the normal polite Dr thing where they show you out, she just let me awkwardly leave while she sat typing away and didn’t hardly acknowledge me. She was short and robotic

This is your go to place for all eye care in Tucson, hands-down. Prompt, attentive service - everyone here was genuinely friendly and helpful. The fact that this practice is growing, yet still provides personalized service is another good sign. Their brand new building and state of the art equipment are signs of a successful expansion. I’ll be back.

I work in the healthcare field and I understand that Covid has put a strain on everyone, but I feel the need to provide a bit of feedback for the office. I checked into my appt early as requested and ended up waiting over 1.5 from my appt time to be seen by Dr. Tsai. Everything just seemed cluttered in the office and not very functional. During my exam I was given a new set of contacts to put in and basically the sink to do that at is right in the middle of a waiting room with several other customers waiting (seems like an odd place especially during Covid). Once my appt was done I checked out

From the minute I walked into Catalina Eye Care, I found the front desk
to be staffed with unprofessional personnel. The seven page patient paper work handed to me was ridiculous. I had my health card and ID, and yet this paper work requested my social security number. Along with signature for unknown payment if certain test were given. I was there for
a eye examine. I refused to sign or give my social security number!
The waiting time was also ridiculous.
My examine was performed by Pam who was outstanding. Leslie Weintraub OD was very informative and I was pleased. I went to order my

It's sad to see all of the negative reviews because I've had great care at Catalina Eye Care! I saw Dr. Weintraub in August complaining about these recurring styes in my eyes, which just started to happen in the past eight months. She did an eye exam on me and told me that it seemed like I had excessive lipid deposits in my eyes. I talked to her about how I just got prescribed new bi-weekly contacts by my old doctor in January 2019 (after having dailies for 3 years in the past). She looked at my eyes with the contact lenses and found out that my eyes were scratching them up (despite me

I had a miserable experience at this office. When I attempted to make an appointment with Dr. Patrick Tsai some weeks ago I was told there was nothing open until March. Dr. P. Tsai has been my eye doctor for several years and I already had an appointment with him scheduled for January 30. Since this could not be honored at the new office I was assigned to Mai Tsai for a 9:15 appt. today. I waited for one hour and was told I would be seen next. I again waited but no action. I asked to be rescheduled with P. Tsai as soon as possible which will occur next week. If this next appt. does not go well

I tried to get a appointment with a Opthamologist but they insisted I see Dr Weintraub. I was having reoccurring eye infections. The first visit I was seen quickly & was given a eye ointment which I was already on. The prescription did not say how long to take it. I was referred to the Surgeon Dr Polanski as I had to get a Laser Iridotomy. I waited forever to see him no place to sit which was uncomfortable as I am disabled. Surgery was scheduled 1.5 months in future. In the meantime my infected eye was still bothering me. I called the office 3 times & never got a call back. I finally did

Dr. polanski put my eye back together after a tear in my eye tear duct in 2016. The surgery went well and the end result is that you cant even tell it was torn away. He was compassionate and caring. My eye is perfect still today. However i do get headaches in the eye and rapid movement pain due to the stint that was put in place.

Wait time is ridiculous, standing room only. Sitting here for 45 minutes. So many people waiting, there's a line to use the restroom. Girls in office touching patients should not have 2" nails (Gross) or touching anywhere near someone's eyes without washing hands or wearing gloves.
Now we are going on 2 hrs of waiting.

My daughter was the first to see Dr. Lynn Polonski. After hearing from her how comfortable she felt with him I scheduled an appointment for an eye issue I was having. Walking in the door of his beautiful office, I was greeted warmly. The waiting area was clean, modern, had up to date reading material including the daily paper, and plenty of seating. The Ophthalmic Technician Ernesto took my history and did all tests needed. He was very professional, kind, and seemed sincerely interested in my problem. He put me at ease. Dr. Polonski was also very professional, thorough, and honest. My eye is on

The last 2 times I have been here I have waited for over an hour. When I was in today, I waited to see Dr. Weintraub for 45 minutes while 3 people who came in after me went in to see her first. I came in and paid to have the special eye test so I wouldn't have to have my eyes dilated BUT I had to have them dilated anyways and she still charged me for the special test. Very frustrated. Do not recommend.

I was referred to Dr. Polonski for a tumor that was found located behind my right eye. I was so extremely happy with the care that I have been given by Dr. Polonski and his staff. Having to undergo a tumor removal was one of the most frightening experiences of my life, Dr. Polonski was compassionate, caring and his follow up after my surgery was amazing! He really shows that he cares about the patient and how the patient feels. I could not have asked for a better Dr. My parents were also happy with him and my Dad ended up booking an appointment for his eye issues. If you are looking for a caring

This is one superb eye care clinic. My cataract surgery was a complicated one. The entire staff treated me as if I was the only patient, even though others were waiting for their appointment. The staff were caring, professional, knowledgeable, personable, understanding, patient, thorough and the very best! Dr. Villavicencio was amazing. His complete interest and ability in performing the intricate work on my eye as well as the thorough follow-up care. I regret having selected Dr. Polonski to do my cataract surgery. I feel that my vision is worse after the surgery compared to before the surgery. To me, he seemed extremely cavalier about my emotional well-being in terms of not returning calls. In addition, I felt he did not accurately represent my outcome in my records.

Receiving treatment from Dr. Lynn Polonsky and Catalina Eye Care is a roll of the dice. Probably this Dr. is an adequate surgeon, but he's not a great communicator and when someone is going to come at your eyes with knives and needles, you probably want someone who is forthcoming about what to expect beyond the nuts and bolts of what the surgery itself will entail, like what to expect after the surgery and clear instructions regarding how to care for yourself after. His office offers a paper with a few instructions on the back of a map to the hospital and this differs greatly from instructions

By far one the worst doctor visits I have ever encountered. I was told to plan on being there for an hour and a half, 30min would be for filling out new client paperwork. I was there for 3 hours and 15min & the paperwork took me less than 10min to fill out. This being said... The Optometrist Assistants were very kind and helpful and took the time to listen to my eye concerns. Where as the doctor (Leslie Weintraub) seemed very rushed and made me feel as though I was wasting her time.

Ophthalmologist Dr. Lynn Polonski performed cataract procedures on both my eyes and I no longer need eyeglasses! As mentioned by previous reviewers, Dr. Polonski is an approachable and caring physician in addition to his medical skills. And talk about going the extra mile ........he opened his office on a Saturday (!) to perform his follow up exam the day after my second procedure, just to accommodate my long-planned vacation trip.
It's a pleasure to recommend the ophthalmological services of Dr. Lynn Polonski.

Beware of their billing policies! They tried to charge me an additional $50 for contact lens fitting, saying that EyeMed insurance never covers fittings, just materials. I said that I'd never had to pay $50 for fittings. The ladies at the front desk repeatedly told me that Eyemed doesn't cover fittings and that one had just gone to a training session so she knew their policies. Well, I called the insurance company up and they said they do cover fittings. If you have Eyemed, call the insurance company and do not pay the amount up front. Have them bill the insurance carrier directly

Our four year old was recommended to see an opthamologist at her four year check up due to astigmatism.
catalina eye care was on our provider list with my insurance and it was very easy to set up an appointment with them. the wait was only one week out, and they were flexible with the times they offered me.
when i arrived, i checked in and we waited a short time before being brought to a room. i was a little nervous as a parent because i wasn't sure if my four year old would understand what was going on, or if they would even be able to diagnose her prescription for glasses.

Catalina Eye Care really saved the day. On a Friday at 3:30, I found out that my insurance was ending that day. Beth, who works in the office and didn't know me from a hole in the ground, was beyond helpful on the phone. When I explained my situation to her and told her where I was coming from, she actually suggested Alvernon Optical, because it was closer. However, Alvernon Optical on Campbell & Grant did not have any openings, and three of the other locations did not even have an optometrist on site that afternoon.
I frantically called Catalina Eye Care back and Beth said to hurry

Dr. Lynn Polinski is the Opthamologist at this practice. I believe he has a female associate with him as well. I've never had the occasion to see her( if that's not a pun I don't know what is) because most of my needs are met with the Opthamologist. Just basically been going for a couple of years for a yearly check up. I really like Dr. P a lot. He has a nice way about him that makes you feel like he really gives a darn about you and whatever problems you might have. I'm super sensitive because I had Lasek surgery performed around 2001 and had a horrible experience
