At Arizona Primary Eye Care, we are not just a place to buy glasses, we are a medical facility. If you have an eye-related emergency, please come to us. Many of our patients are sent from urgent care centers and primary care doctor offices. We offer same-day appointments. Whether you're looking for some simple, straightforward reading glasses, or want the latest in high-fashion rims on Hollywood's red carpet, we have the designs for you.
We carry exclusive brands and have years of experience in knowing the difference between brands that have the right names, and brands that have what you need. We have all the necessary tools, technology, and expertise to diagnose your optical issues on site. From basic eye exams to visual field analysis, and even eye emergencies, we can help.

Services
Arizona Primary Eye Care was founded in 2010 by Dr. Schmitt and Dr. Nichols. We employ dozens of people over our 3 Tucson locations and 1 Benson location. We are proud supporters of the Arizona Wildcats and have teamed up with Coach Barnes to support the women's basketball team. The ENTIRE staff at AZ Primary Eye Care are top shelf.
Taking care of your vision is essential to your quality of life. We offer a full range of Eye Exams for Tucson to suit all of your eye care needs. We would love to host your first eye exam appointment or be your new destination for your annual eye exam. Every Eye Exam includes a professional and comprehensive evaluation of your Eye's health.
Hospitals, urgent care, and primary care doctors don't necessarily know how to treat eye injuries or have the best equipment to handle them. We are in our Tucson optometry clinic six days a week and prepared to address eye emergencies. If we determine a referral needs to be done we will help set up an appointment and send over all information needed.
It's important for parents to realize that the pediatrician and schools generally are only concerned with basic screenings to check for serious and obvious problems when it comes to eye care for kids. They will not be looking inside the eye, beyond basic structure. It's up to parents to bring them into an optometrist at 6 months and 3-4 years old to check for less-obvious problems.
Quality frames make a huge difference in your optics and your overall satisfaction with your eyeglasses. We sometimes are frustrated by new patients who come in and have never been told 'no' on frames that did not fit them. By the time we see them, they are frustrated, have headaches, or generally are just "making do" with their look.

Almost every time I come in, There’s this pretty young lady there, and she’s always so bubbly!! The good kind of quirky, and always smells delightful! Raelene is her name. She is always greeting and bidding a fair well that makes me want to to return. While I’m there waiting to be assisted after her assistance. I see how she gives everyone equal affection and courtesy a client deserves!! You guys will always have me as a patient. As long as Ms. Noriega works there. Lol

I had the pleasure of having Jackie assist me in picking out a new pair of glasses, when all was said and done she showed me price comparisons between out of pocket vs insurance. The difference in dollars was amazing of course i went with her suggestion and she saved me several hundred dollars.
I have been going to Az. Primary Eye Care for approximately 5 years and this was by far my best experience.
I sure hope this young lady gets promoted to mgmt some day because she has everything you would want in dealing with a business like thus.
Thank you Jackie!!

Dr. Romero was amazing, she was friendly and thorough, thus the 2 stars. If just on office staff would be 1 star. However the rest of my visit was not very good. My insurance covers lenses and gives $200 credit towards materials but the office would not honor my plan. They told me I was wrong about what was covered. I called my insurance and they confirmed with me my coverage and so I had them talk to the office staff to advise them and the staff said they do not honor the insurance and that the only way to get coverage was under age 21. I am going to have to go to Nationwide to get my glasses

I switched to Az Primary Eye Care about 3 years ago and absolutely love this location and their employees. They have awesome customer service and treat patients like family. Dr. Nichols strives to provide the best care to her patients. She was able to adjust my prescription after many years of other providers leaving it the same for some reason. I'm very happy with this location.
