The Animal Hospital of Barrington is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. Drs. David and Michelle Harriton built the hospital in 2003 in response to a growing need for compassionate, family-centered veterinary care in Barrington.
The Animal Hospital of Barrington is a full-service veterinary hospital. We are proud to offer the highest possible level of veterinary medicine to improve the lives of the pets we serve and their families. We also offer surgery and dentistry to a wide variety of animals, so we are equipped to meet the needs of your pet, whatever those needs might be.
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate by appointment only. Emergency cases for our current patients always receive top priority, which is why very occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

Not at all! We are a complete veterinary care facility, providing physical examinations, vaccinations and preventive care; medical and surgical services; dentistry, radiology, pediatric and senior care; orthopedic and laser surgery; in-house specialists, laboratory services and more! We do see our fair share of emergencies, but that is only the tip of the iceberg!

Last week, my golden retriever was pretty sick. I showed up at The Animal Hospital of Barrington without an appointment, hoping they could see my dog. They told me they were short staffed and only had one… doctor on that day, BUT, within one hour, my dog was seen, diagnosed and I had medicine in hand. Amazing service and I would highly recommend them!

We brought our dog to The Animal Hospital of Barrington for 15 years and had him put down there too. Two years later we were getting a puppy that needed to be brought in within ten days of purchase. I called for an appointment and they didn't have any. I explained that we were former clients working with a short window of time and asked if there… was any way they could squeeze us in. I was told no. I said we would need to somewhere else and they said ok. What bothered me was that they didn't seem at all interested in trying to help, and we're completely fine with us going elsewhere. The

I feel good about bringing my pets here. The Vets are very good at explaining details and very kind. I don’t feel like I’m being over charged here or being sold on things I don’t need. I do wish I could come in with my pets during the pandemic that’s my only gripe. I hope that changes soon.

I have been bringing my little dog to this practice since we first adopted her. She has had a few health issues that were dealt with as soon as I discovered them. And one big emergency when she was attacked and needed repair surgery. We have been treated with kindness and respect every time we come to the Animal Hospital.
