Powdersville Animal Hospital was originally established in 1990 as Zink Animal Hospital. In 2006, Dr. Sanders became the new owner and veterinarian of the newly re-named practice. Just as our community has grown and changed, so has the level of veterinary care and services offered to our clients and patients.
We are committed to the continued education of our staff and community and we welcome the excitement and challenges associated with maintaining a high standard of care. Not only are the veterinarians fantastic, the entire staff is very welcoming and they really go the extra mile to help.

Services
Our veterinarians and staff at Powdersville Animal Hospital are ready to provide your dog, cat, puppy, or kitten with services from wellness exams and vaccines to advanced diagnostics and complex surgical procedures. We are also proud to offer grooming and boarding services at our facility. In any emergency, seconds count.
Our doctors are here to provide your four legged friends high quality and compassionate care. When your pet comes to Powdersville Animal Hospital they become our best friends too! Dr. Sanders received his doctorate with Honors from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine, after receiving his Bachelors degrees in Biochemistry and Animal Science, summa cum laude in 1982.
Thank you, staff at PAH for the great care you gave to my cat Rocky! I had no idea his condition was so bad, so thank God you were open on Saturday so we could come see the vet! The staff and doctors were wonderful with him, and got him all set with medication and a plan of care. I'm so grateful for you all.
Your pet can greatly benefit from regular wellness examinations or checkups. Our veterinarians are ready to examine your pet at any stage of their life. We will take a look at pet's major organ systems and use the wellness visit to ask you questions about your pet's behavior, appetite, exercise habits, and regular activities at home.
Dental hygiene is an important part of your pet's health. Bad breath, drooling, discomfort while chewing, and loose or missing teeth are common signs of dental disease. When left untreated it may lead to other serious health problems such as heart disease and kidney disease. Routine dental exams are a core part of preventative healthcare.

My puppy was ill and I was told all doctors were at lunch and they had no appointments available and referred me to Craven Creek Vet. Thank God for Craven Creek who’s doctors were also at lunch; however, a vet assistant did look at my dog and scheduled me an appointment for 2 hours later. Note to all Vets, stagger your lunch hours so you can provide care. What if all the ER doctors went to lunch at the same time, we would have a lot of dead people in the world!

This was my first time bringing my dog to this animal hospital. She is an extremely anxious dog around new people and environments. She peed everywhere when we first entered, and the staff was very kind and understanding. The vet and assistant were both amazing, and after interacting with them my dog's nerves were calmed and she was no longer shaking or peeing. This was a fantastic experience from start to finish, and I am so thankful to the entire staff for creating such a soothing and welcoming environment for my little girl. I will definitely continue to utilize their services for future appointments

Last month we had to make the sad decision regarding our old family K9 companion.
It was one of the hardest things for us to do but through it all the staff and doctor were very professional and understanding. We couldn't have asked for a better send off. The doctor and assistant went out of their way to explain the options and the current situation to us with no pressure and nothing but support.
Thank you to the staff and to the Doctor, it really meant a lot to us and to my whole family.

I scheduled a quality of life evaluation for my dog that was getting worse in health. By the time of the appointment, I had decided that it was her time to go and when I got there and called to check in and begin the process, I was informed that not only could my family not come in, but not even I was not allowed. They wanted to take my dog of 11 years to end her life alone.
I understand staying safe with Covid, but the whole point of bringing your pet to the vet to take them out of their pain is to do it with them, so they’re happy and with their family all the way to the end.

My pup developed a galloping heart. I had to drop him off for xrays before seeing a cardiologist. I picked him up at the end of the day. He suddenly collapsed in my backseat as I was pulling out. The Dr. was leaving for the day but recognized something was happening. She worked with him in the backseat until she got him stable. Her heart is is big as her smile...and the staff too. They were all so compassionate and concerned about me as well. This is a great place for your fur babies!

I love to write good reviews when I can. Unfortunately this is not one of those times. My wife had been out in Powdersville running errands and someone had hit and left a dog in the roadway. Not knowing what to do... she picked up the animal a German Shepard and took the animal to basically any clinic that would see the animal. Powdersville Animal Hospital is not one of those places! Not without extensive file compiled to get background on our family to acknowledge and assume liability of the bill on an animal that was left in the roadway they basically did not would not see the animal. So some

I was very thankful for getting our daughter's puppy in on short notice, but due to Covid of course we can't go in. I understand covid precautions, but we have been twice through covid and the fact that the veterinarian themselves will not reach out to discuss things with you is very disappointing. It's almost like they have become too busy to be interpersonal.

Took in a 3 week old kitten we found to be checked out. It has some potentially serious issues but is doing well. The receptionist asked the vet if she could check the kitten since they had no appointments for over a week and the vet said No immediately. That really shows me how concerned they would be about my pets and their needs. The two other area vets were happy to work kitty in for a checkup. Very disappointing for our local vet.

A few months ago while we are at my cat Jasper's yearly checkup. After we were finished with the checkup, I put him in his cage and we were headed to the car when all of a sudden his cage broke and Jasper got loose and almost lost him, he headed for the main highway, luckily he was a little startled so he hesitated for a moment and I grabbed him and ran back inside the building. One of the technicians went outside and grabbed the cage along with my purse and zip tied his cage back together for me! They didn't have to do that, but were so very kind and patient with me! They take very good

The support staff at PAH is very nice! We won't be back though. Dr. White was very condescending and rude. We were there for a yearly check up for our lab mix. We told everyone that he can be slightly unpredictable, yet she still got an attitude with us when he growled at her for not so gently yanking on his ears. I find it funny that he only growled at Dr. White. Funny how dogs know who to like and who not to like.

This review is for BOARDING only ....
Visit #1 - I was told incorrect information about extra play time on Sunday when I made reservation. When we checked in, the attitude was "oh well". No attempt to make it righ.
Visit #2 - check in was crowded , to be expected on sat AM. When my turn was up, the receptionist took the lady after me (who tried to let her know I was next).. She said "well I have you pulled up already" and never apologized or even acknowledged the mistake. Maybe not a problem except 7 other people were waiting on her to finish her 20 min visitation.
