Services
Beginning in the 1950's, Leo Crummy operated Crummy Funeral Homes in Viola, New Windsor and Reynolds. Meanwhile, in the 1980's, Lew Jinks purchased the Olin Funeral Homes in Joy, Keithsburg and New Boston. He later opened a home in Aledo. Mr. Jinks then purchased the Crummy Funeral Homes. All the homes became known as Jinks Funeral Homes of Mercer County.
You can review our General Price List to see an itemization of our services. Instead of going through and itemizing a service, we have many packages (discounted from itemized prices) that cover many different types of funeral services. We offer discounted package prices for many different types of service from VISITATION AND FUNERAL, GRAVESIDE SERVICE and IMMEDIATE BURIAL.
Jill attended Westmer schools, graduating in 1991. She then attended North Central College, Naperville and Worsham College of Mortuary Science, Wheeling, Illinois. Jill graduated in 1993, receiving the Alumni Award. She began working at Jinks Funeral Homes of Mercer County while in high school. Jill served her apprenticeship with Family Funeral Services.
In most areas of the country, state or local law does not require that you buy a container to surround the casket in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that you have such a container so that the grave will not sink in. Either a grave liner or a burial vault will satisfy these requirements.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.

I used them a number of years ago when my mother passed. They knew the second I walked in the door that this was a hard thing to do, and pretty much took my hand and made everything easier. I felt the value and price were very good. However, beyond the price... the people... the people were wonderful. Just what you need when dealing with a terrible day. Should have written the review then, was just thinking about them when I drove past today. Great people.

My husband is in a wheelchair. It is a smaller transport chair, not a regular size wheelchair. The bathroom at the funeral home is not handicapped accessible. He does not stand or walk. He is an amputee. I could not get the wheelchair in the bathroom. I had to have help. Once in, it could not be moved and therefore the door would not close I had to stand in front of the door. After he was done, two other people had to get the chair out. It was impossible for me to do it. It was really embarrassing for us.
