I've always had an appreciation for individuality + ones balance in life. I want the same elements applied to my clients hair, finding one's individuality + balance to pair with their lifestyle. My career as a stylist began on Newbury St. in Boston in 2006 where I acquired foundational training from the Vidal Sassoon method. Hollyann is a phenomenal stylist and brings her own sense of artistry to everything that she does. She takes her time with you and will discuss several options based on what looks good on YOU, not what looks good in a magazine. Her talents go beyond styling hair; she is also an amazing colorist and make-up artist. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a specialized and consultative approach to looking and feeling their best .

I can't say enough wonderful things about Salt of the Earth Salon. The vibe is cozy and comfortable and I know I'm about to be pampered from the minute I step in the door. Racquel has been cutting my hair for at least ten years, and I trust her implicitly. I usually go in with a vague idea of some small change or experiment and she always knows exactly what I'm going for.
Racquel's color work is stellar - I always receive tons of complements! She knows I'm that gal who doesn't always keep up with appointments...and designs my color accordingly. It grows out so naturally until I'm ready for a refresh

I'm extremely happy with my service at the salon on Saturday with Courtney. I had the scalp analysis and detox treatment. I can't ever remember having such a more relaxing experience. I'm a former stylist and always looking for a new experience.
All the state protocols were in place. Temp taken as you enter the salon. Your shown where to wash your hands once you enter. The salon was exceptionally clean. I was taken right on time.
The service itself was amazing! From the scalp massage to the hot towels and the time spent relaxing.

As a hair professional myself I was very impressed with salt of the earth. I felt safer knowing they take temperatures when you first walk in the door and that covid protocols were seriously put into place and followed. I was taken in at my scheduled time and given a tour of the salon.
I received the microscopic scalp analysis and was amazed to see how some of my hair follicles were being suffocated. Raquel was very knowledgeable and the scalp treatment I received made my head feel amazing for the next two weeks. I was educated on proper ways to care for myself scalp that I didn't even know

I'm so happy that Raquel opened up her own place! I've been getting my hair cut and styled by her for nearly 8 years now, but she definitely took things to the next level when she opened her own salon last year.
Since Salt of the Earth opened up, I don't just get my hair "cut" anymore.... I take CARE of my hair. Raquel and her team are simply the best. The salon is beautiful and clean, using only the best all natural products. I have naturally curly hair and have always struggled with hair styling, until I met Raquel. Not only did she cut my hair in a way that complimented it's natural style, she took the time to show me how to style it and explained the hows and whys for all of the steps involved. Raquel makes you feel comfortable and cared for, and I always leave her salon feeling refreshed, with a beautiful head of hair.

As someone with thick curly hair, I literally never in my life had a good haircut until I met Raquel. And now? People literally stop me in stores (usually fellow curly-haired people, desperate for someone who knows what they're doing) and ask where I get my haircut.
She's that good.

Love it! Racquel is the first stylist who has taught me to appreciate and to understand how to work with my hair. On the first visit she asked me what I liked about my hair...my reply, nothing. After a much needed cut, two visits later, two repairing treatments, and two months later I LOVE how manageable my hair has become and actually feeling like my hair matches my face. The owner/stylist used thinning shears on my very wavy hair and cut many layers in an awkward way. It was a complete unmanageable mess. I should have said something before leaving but I didn't want to hurt her feelings. I had to have it fixed as best as possible by an excellent salon nearby. They couldn't believe she used thinning shears. My hair has taken months and months to recover into shape. Also, on the professional scorecard, she was not ready for my appointment at the scheduled time. When I showed my confirmation, she said well, she just wasn't ready and then instructed

I cannot recommend this hair studio enough! I started working with Racquel, the owner and lead stylist, when she was still as Vis-a-Vis in Providence. My first appointment with Racquel was my first ever hair consult! I have curly hair and never had a stylist cut my curls while my hair was dry. I cannot stress enough what a huge difference this makes! Racquel is so knowledgeable and passionate. If you have any hair woes, she'll take the time to help you research new products to try. I never knew it could be like this! What a wonderful place and even more wonderful experience! I feel lucky to have found a stylist like Racquel - she's so thoughtful and super sweet! My first appointment was unreal, complete with a scalp analysis using a microscope and custom treatment. Her attention to details like my aesthetic, lifestyle, beauty routine and at-home tools was amazing. We talked through everything from sleeping with wet hair to the *right* flat iron... I felt like I won something!
