Services
The health of your eyes is as important to us as we know it is to you. Therefore, in addition to measurements for glasses or contact lenses, our routine examinations include a thorough medical evaluation by an eye physician for the presence of early stages of eye disease. Diseases of the eye such as cataracts, glaucoma and most other conditions, are most successfully treated when discovered early, often before symptoms ever begin.
Our optical dispensary is on site with a wide selection of quality and fashionable eye wear. Our licensed Opticians will help you select the right frame for your appearance and prescription. They will ensure that your custom-fitted glasses are comfortable and help you to see well, and that you look your best in them.
For your convenience, the Family Eye Care and optical department are open from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. If you need to cancel an appointment, please give us a 24-hour notice so that we can give that time to another patient. Our first concern is the health and well being of our patients. We will gladly work with you concerning insurance coverage and payments. If your visit is covered by your health insurance or a separate vision plan, we can assist you in filing your insurance claim. Please bring your medical insurance card with you to your appointment.

My husband saw Dr Lett after getting what we thought was an eye infection. Dr Let himself is a nice, pleasant person. I question his skills as a Dr tho. He prescribed antibiotics and eye drops. I questioned the fact my husband had been told he had macula degeneration. Dr Lett chuckled and said he doesn't have macular degeneration. He gave him a new prescription for glasses, which we just got the lenses and it was close to $500. When we went back to pick up the glasses my husband told them they weren't helpful. He was told it would take a bit to adjust to them. Come the second month, after 2 rounds

Great doctor! All of my visits have been quick and efficient and he really trys to help his patients save money if something happens and you are going through a hardship. I had a blister on my eye, he distracted me with conversation, and just like that, he was done with what he needed to do. Very experienced and friendly. Recently moved away from Knoxville and one of the things I will miss is my eye doctor.

Lett gave me a quickie no dilation exam. Purchased glasses bifocals Lett said I had early cataracts ,I was already aware of that . Glasses cost $460 one pair . Picked them up , terrible outcome no good to read no benefit distance . Went back to resolve , Lett asked me ,where did you get these glasses ? Right here ! He checked my eyes again , said early stage cataracts prevented my glasses from helping ,and another prescription won't help . So basically I can't glasses that will work and it's too early for removal of cataracts . Lett said you are screwed. Yes I am for coming to you

I've visited Dr. Lett's office twice now, both for emergency reasons. He was able to quickly assess my problem and provide a solution. He ended up having to lance a cyst from my eye the first visit and did not even give me time to worry about it. 30 minutes later I was good as new. I highly recomend this office, and would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends. It's a great place to be treated with an emergency!

We brought my daughter in because we were concerned about her eye crossing and a stye. He performed a simple (no dilation) exam and prescribed glasses. He didn't even address the stye. When we called other opthalmologists in the area, they referred her to pediatric opthalmologists at Children's Hospital. I wish we had taken their advice and skipped Dr. Lett altogether. My daughter received a full and thorough exam with the pediatric opthalmologists and didn't need glasses at all.

Dr. Lett is a great guy who is very humble and sharp. His quirky, but funny personality is good for a laugh. Just don't take things too seriously and you will have a good laugh while getting your check up. The front desk personnel is great as well. They keep the place running like a well oiled machine. You can tell that everyone cares about doing a great job and taking care of patients.

My exam was strange too. He had very peculiar behavior. I needed three sets of glasses. Safety glasses, sun glasses, and regular glasses. After I filled my prescription at an eye glass store, all of them felt like my vision was blurry. Had an exam done over by a different and very trusted optometrist and he found that the prescription that Dr Lett wrote was a full point off! Had to reorder all my glasses. Was able to use the same frames but had to pay all over again for the lenses. Do not recommend him to anyone and advise to stay clear.

I had a stroke and it affected my eyes bad. Everyone tried to help me and no one could. I heard about Dr. Lett. I had given up hope, but I went. I will never forget, he put me on a machine and I said "I Can See!" I was so happy. He gave me perfect vision with contacts only. I am forever indebted to him. He gave me sight when no one else could. I was prepared for him to be very expensive, but he is so reasonable. He is cheaper than my regular optometrist. I cannot say enough good things about him and I think everyone should go!
