One carat equals to 0.2 grams or 200 milligrams. Carat weight is the prime factor that determines the weight of a diamond. Larger diamonds are undoubtedly costlier. Carat makes expressing diamond weight easier as compared to milligrams. Instead of giving three labels to diamonds weighing 20 milligrams, 211 milligrams and 220 milligrams, carat offers a category for fitting the diamonds in a one category, placing these diamonds in one-carat range.

My boyfriend and I have been shopping around for engagement rings over the last few weeks. I was particularly interested in vintage or estate pieces. I stumbled upon the Merkley Kendrick website and thought we should check it out. We went in hoping to get inspiration as I’ve not been able to find the perfect vintage engagement ring. We worked with Matt who is so helpful! He took his time explaining each piece and answering all of the questions we had. Needless to say we ended up leaving with a ring that I couldn’t love more. Matt is wonderful to work with. He made the experience very personal

Contacted MK about the availability of several watches in which I'm interested. Received a very welcoming email from Rachel inviting me to visit the store. Stopped in and met Alex and Matt. Everyone was very friendly and a pleasure to speak with. Ended up working with Alex and buying a watch for my wife, who was beyond happy with it. Excellent experience!

Recently as we thought about what to get our daughter for her 26th Birthday, we naturally thought of something special in the way of jewelry. There was only one store that we had confidence in having the variety and selection that would allow us to find that perfect gift; Merkley Kendrick, of course.
We were met by Rachel who took the time and interest to determine what we were wanting to find and she then did a wonderful job showing us those pieces that reflected that goal. She hit a home run in her selection and we were delighted in the experience and care she provided us.

My grandmother didn’t have much of a wedding ring when she got married in the 1920s, but years later, she upgraded, and her new, multi-diamond ring was her signature piece...she was SO proud of it!
Eons ago, it was promised to me to use as an engagement ring, but, well, life got in the way, and I didn’t marry until I was nearly 40 years old.
In the meantime, it made its way to my aunt, who turned it into a pendant necklace.
It has now made it back to me.....and Brian Merkley and his team crafted it back into the ring it once was. I am truly so happy that this story has come full circle and

Wow. Couldn't be happier. You hear about these giant jewelry stores on the radio and TV and it makes you feel like an election again. Each one taking stabs at the other. While this little "Louisville's Best Kept Secret" jeweler sits back and just kills it with service.
Matt took care of me and his personal service and attention to detail to help me get the perfect ring was second to none.
I upgraded my wife's ring fir our 25 year anniversary and it was all perfect. The center diamond is better than I could have imagined and my wife looks at me like I'm a hero again.
