At Ogata EyeCare, our goal is promote good eye health and enable you to have clear and comfortable vision. We accept several types of vision and medical insurance, cash, checks, and most credit cards. We inform our patients about exam and treatment costs at the beginning of your appointment. If you require a breakdown of costs, please let us know.
Optometrists complete pre-professional undergraduate college education followed by 4 years of professional education at a College of Optometry. Some Optometrists also complete a residency. To examine, diagnose, and treat visual conditions such as Nearsightedness, Farsightedness, Astigmatism, Presbyopia, Lazy Eye (Amblyopia), and Crossed Eyes (Strabismus).
Caring for your eyes and vision is every bit as important as the other parts of your body. Failing to take action when eye troubles arise could lead to an escalation of symptoms. My contacts prescription expired a few weeks before I was eligible for a new exam with my vision insurance. Ogata was unwilling to work with me and extend my prescription or provide additional samples to fill the gap. They wanted me to pay for an eye exam out of pocket. I went to Costco for a less expensive eye exam. It is disappointing that I had to pay out of pocket because Ogata has poor customer service. I'm never returning to Ogata.

I am a new customer to Ogada eye care and I have scheduled an appointment they cant even wait for 5mins for customers as I got stuck in the traffic and they called me and told me that they can't wait for customers when I almost reached their clinic and I don't know they have 10mins late policy. I had a reason to be late but I feel like they should really work for customers. Please do that. Thanks

The receptionist and the technician were very so nice. The Dr. was amazing. Having shingles in one eye before, I had to see many doctors for quite awhile. She was one of the ones I wish I had seen. She explained everything, and still, so nice! I’ve always preferred LensCrafters to all other eye Drs., and still do. Thank you!

Lisa is hands down once of the nicest pre-screen nurses that I have ever had the chance to interact with. Words cannot express how nice she was to me, and her positivity put me in a good mood for the rest of the day. She is an absolute joy, and this office is lucky to have her.
My experience with Doctor Nguyen was also fantastic as she put up with my dumb questions and took the time needed to ensure everything about the tests undergone were correct.
I would definitely recommend this office if you're on the fence about it.

I had been going here for years for both contacts and glasses. I was always happy with Dr. Avruskin, but decided to try another place to save money. So regret that choice! I am back with Dr. A. Contacts and glasses are back to the correct prescription. She is thoughtful, caring, and so skilled with her work! I will never go anywhere else!

I was a patient of the same eye doctor (Dr Jon Russell) at the Lloyd Center location for 15+ years. When that doctor left the practice for a better opportunity, I began to see Dr. Ogata or his son or whomever was there. They always had high turnover, but no one even suggested I select a preferred replacement - including the owner himself. Even though Dr. Russell had told me I was their longest continuous client, no one knew who I was every time I came in. I made a same day appointment to come here for an eye exam after recently purchasing glasses for my son at the LensCrafters that they are located within. Upon giving my completed paperwork to the front desk after 5 to 10 minutes of waiting I am told or asked are you the primary subscriber. I clearly stated on the paperwork that my husband was a subscriber and included all requested information. This was my first indication that things were not being handled very efficiently. Then, for whatever reason, The front desk told me that they are able to see that I have benefits but not how much my benefit

My experience with Ogata has been nothing short of amazing. Although most of my appointments are scheduled on a short notice, the scheduling process is always quick and easy. I last visited a few weeks ago to get updated glasses/contacts prescriptions since I noticed my eyesight had gotten worse and I wanted to get a new pair of glasses. My initial exam was done by a very kind and professional older woman (unfortunately I don't know her name) and afterwards by Dr. Nguyen. Great experience. Appointment set up online. Follow up text reminders were terrific. Got a call from a human to confirm. She was very nice.
Insurance was confirmed before I showed up.
Paperwork was fast. Didn't have to wait at all for the exam. Linda, the eye tech was terrific. Doc was very good, asked the right questions.
Check out was quick, didn't have to ask for my Rx, they just gave it to me.

I stopped in here on my lunch break (traveling from Lake Oswego) to order contacts. When I sat down no one was at the reception area. I waited for ten minutes finally the optometrist comes out and says the receptionist is doing a prescreening but she'll be right with me. No one comes until another 15 minutes. I have waited a total of 25 minutes. Someone comes over and I tell them I need to order contacts and I have my prescription which I can email them. The phone rings and the person helping me continues conserving on the phone rather than assisting the person that had been waiting 25 minutes

Dr. Anna Nguyen is amazing -- she's knowledgeable, patient, and helpful.
I booked my appointment online and received texts to remind me of my upcoming appointment. I received a copy of my prescription after the appointment, and a follow up.

I have been a patient at Ogata EyeCare for the last 3 years, visiting once per year. Dr. Meghan Malensky and Dr. Dale Ogata were my optometrists.
I was dissatisfied with my previous optometrist (a stand-alone office in downtown Portland) because the office staff was disorganized to the point of affecting patient care, the staff/optometrist made it not so simple to get a signed copy of my vision prescription, and they tried uncomfortably hard to "sell" me glasses I didn't need/want.

1. They do not tell you of a new patient fee, which I have never had an optometrist give me.
2. They did a "special" eye exam without notifying me beforehand. Even though I was not notified of a fee, or that I was even taking a different type of exam, the charged me for it and told me that they don't have to tell their patients if they see it fit.
What would normally cost me $40 turned into over $220 dollar exam. NOT including contacts or lenses. This was really difficult for me as a college student, and

When getting an eye exam most places will provide you an eyeglasses prescription that is good for two years.
Such is not the case here- your prescription will only be good for one year.
A waste of time and a waste of money- highly recommend going elsewhere.
Everything else was fine, beyond that bad policy.

I have seen many optometrists and Dr Carla Avruskin is the best. She is the only Dr that has every completely diagnosed the root of my vision problems. You can tell that she prides herself on her ability to solve and treat your vision. I am thankful that I have met her and been able to work with her.

I've been seeing dr. Dale Ogata and he is is so nice and friendly! Last Friday I saw dr.Daniel Ogata he explained every thing to me , and he answered all my questions in a simple way. Omg did I say that he's so handsome !!

Jeff is angry, I get it. Having to pay $78 for an eye exam is a lot. Maybe next time Jeff will ask a business what it charges for a service instead of assuming it's the same price WalMart would charge. I had a great experience here, Dr. Ogata was fast a and professional. I'm an extremely happy with the service I received and will definitely be coming back regardless of what Walmart charges.

I've been coming here for many, many moons. I go out of my way to come here, despite moving kinda far away-ish.
Dr. Avruskin is my favorite! Actually to be fair I've not seen any other doctors at this office, but I've seen a fair number at other practices over the years to have a frame of reference for the quality I experience here in comparison. She is very professional, friendly, thorough and attentive. I've always gotten perfect prescriptions from her. At other clinics I've had poor experiences that left me dissatisfied and feeling stuck with a mediocre Rx.
