Protecting your eyes from sunlight and avoiding smoking are the best way to prevent cataracts. Wear sunglasses that screen out the sun's ultraviolet (UV) light rays. You may also wear regular eyeglasses that have a clear, anti-UV coating. Positive family history of parents, brothers, sisters, or other family members who have cataracts.
About 80% of people who have AMD have the more common dry form. Dry AMD is when parts of the macula get thinner with age and tiny clumps of debris called drusen grow. You slowly lose central vision. I had SMILE corrective surgery about a week and a half ago. On day 2 I felt comfortable driving and getting back to normal routines. At my one week follow up, my vision was 20/20! I was nervous to try a newer technology, but after a lot of research of the procedure and Dr. Malihi’s experience, I felt confident that it was safe and effective. I chose Nelsi for lasik eye surgery and so glad I did. They have smart technology and the procedure was quick and painless. It has been 1 month since my surgery and it is incredible to wake up and see without the aid of glasses or contacts. The entire team at Nelsi is fantastic and very caring with your wellbeing in mind. I have decided to get my vision corrected and had SMILE surgery last month. The entire procedure took 10-15 min atmost, it was painless and smooth. Dr. Malihi and his staff are AMAZING!! They made me feel very comfortable. Recovery was pretty quick. I was able to resume normal activities day after surgery. Huge thanks to Dr. Malihi for my 20/15 vision.

When I went in for my initial consultation for eye surgery, I was greeting with friendly and welcoming office staff. Dr. Malihi did a thorough exam and gave eye surgery options that he concluded were the best for me. I had SMILE surgery done, and I think it was one of my best decisions in my life.

I had a detached retina and and was referred to Dr. Malihi by my regular optometrist. I had a 930 am appointment and by 1030 he was performing a procedure in office to freeze my retina. It all happened so quickly but he and his team were wonderful and after seven weeks I can say the procedure was successful. He explained all of my options clearly and was very empathetic to my situation and I really appreciated that. He literally saved my eyesight which I am eternally grateful for. I feel 100% confident in his ability and would refer him gladly to anyone in need of his services.

I have had chronic dry eyes for the last 6 years and have not found relief, After a thorough exam, Dr. Malihi took the time to provide a detailed explanation of the cause and laid out a treatment plan that included therapy I could do at home. I finally feel like there is hope to find relief!

This was the first time I visited the clinic. My mom needed to get consultation with a retinal specialist.
The office is bright and cheerful. The office staff was wonderful. There was an issue with my mom's insurance and they explained that they needed to call the insurance company. After the call, they were very thorough and explained exactly what the insurance company had said and what we should expect and when.
The technicians and nurse inside were knowledgeable, kind and explained all the procedures and tests they were doing.
