I have used NBKC bank for 2 home purchases now and their customer service and professionalism go above and beyond any expectations I have. Their interest rates are much better than any competitors and the communication is great with Mike Yarbrough informing me in detail of every step along the way. The customer service is great with Mike answering any questions my wife or I may have whether it be during normal business hours or a Saturday night, he was always there to help alleviate the stresses of home closing. The loan officer, Maggie, was straight forward, professional, and, most importantly, helpful. It was such a great experience working with Chad Barnes and his team at NBKC. Chad guided us through a seamless process to acquire our loan. The underwriting step was just so efficient as it worked with different parties without the need for us to submit a bunch of redundant documents on our side. I found Scott Benson & NBKC while researching mortgage lenders for a new home i wanted to build for my family & I in MA. NBKC scored very highly as a reputable, online mortgage lender, so I submitted my initial information to them and a few other highly scored organizations. Scott's was the first non-automatic reply I received - and that was within a half hour! I called him the next day along with the other two lenders that got back to me by then and chose to move forward with Scott. I definitely made the right choice! I had the same experience as Dmytro. I have tried to open a business account with this bank 2 months ago. They gave wrong information as to the required paperwork. After submitting all the information they argued with me about my business location.
It took them an additional eternity to open the account. Finally they opened it, and now they are putting holds on my deposits on checks that were issued by reputable institutions. Their employees; Erik, Amber and Sarah are irresponsible, uninformed and do not return calls.
Not only this is horrible experience, but thanks to them I am late on my mortgage

In 2019 we purchased our first home. Rhett from NBKC handled our financing. From start to finish was literally 3 weeks. Working with Rhett was amazing.

Fast forward to 2021, our loan was sold to Quicken. Quicken screwed us big time. In fact, I filed in official complaint against Quicken.

Anyway, I reached back out to Rhett, and he is handling our refi saving us a ton of money!

Robyn Geraci went out of her way to be helpful. Very professional and kind, it didn't matter the amount I was calling about - she was awesome.

My got my first ever home loan. I got it with an agent I thought I could trust. When I was concerned about the disclosure claiming they can sell the loan, he told me NBKC rarely sells the loans and maintains servicing. Yeah, guess what. It was instantly sold to a crappy company. I would've never financed with NBKC if I knew that was going to happen. I'm giving this company the number of stars of the company who they threw me to.

Don't get a loan with NBKC.

I was looking for a mortgage lender and found out about NBKC through Costco. Was assigned to Jeff Hiller (NMLS# 1017789), and could not be happier. He was fantastic to work with. Always very professional and cordial. My questions were answered in a timely manner. I would recommend wholeheartedly.

Never heard of this bank until I checked Costco. I was attended to by the most professional and straightforward Loan Originator - Wesley McDonald. I was getting a new-build, the preferred lender for the builder matched the really good NBKC rates and added some other incentives which made more financial sense for me. Else I definitely would have gone with NBKC - A bank I had not heard of because of the impressions of Wesley. Definitely worth checking out and make sure to ask for Wes!

Went through a strenuous process of identifying myself for a business bank account to have them receive the final documents and deny my application.

With the understanding from one of the reps that I would be able to apply for the account with a driver's license that expired during quarantine as long as I provided other materials (other forms of ID and a statement showing residency) to support my identify, I proceeded to apply.

I went through the process of verifying myself and was still told that I needed valid ID's so I paused on the application and I applied for a new license and

Applied for a business checking account on 5/9/2020. This is a Saturday. Called on 5/12/2020 to see status of the account. This was a Tuesday. Clerk said that because of Covid they are running way behind. This makes no sense. Told the clerk if they could not get back to me by Wednesday the next day, just forget opening the account. Today is 5/15/2020 and still no word. I have a 836 FICO score and am a CPA. Go figure.

UPDATE: I was called by nbkc about this review on Friday 5/15/2020. I was told that five days to open an account was not too long. If I expected it to be open faster I should

Edit: NBKC reached out to me and put me in contact with someone who listened and was able to address all of my issues and solve my problems. Policy may continue to hinder people who have certain requirements but at least there is hope. Just the fact that they went above and beyond to address and solve my concerns really makes me appreciate this bank even more than I already did. Finally a bank that has a department that listens to customers. THANK YOU NBKC for helping me and giving me solutions to my problems.



After a few recent interactions I find myself no longer as happy with NBKC. They went

I'm not only frustrated I'm extremely annoyed with NICK LINK. I feel like I'm being ignored. Nick told me that I would receive my lender credit check after 30 days of closing which was 27 Aug 19. I have all the text messages to confirm this. In do not wish for this to turn into a legal matter.

With Justin McGuire's (manager) help the misunderstanding is cleared up. He helped me reach out to the individuals responsible for the funds I am to receive and they were able to answer why I did not receive anything after over 30 days.

Although I was grateful for the refinancing of our home, the experience with NBKC was terrible.

Jeremy Bell was our contact person. He was very inconsistent and most of the time wouldn't return calls, texts or emails in a timely matter. His lack of communication almost cost our VA loan to not go through. I threatened to seek legal council. That's when Jeremy's supervisor, Kirby Hinton, stepped in and took over. It's because of him that this loan was put together and funded.

They immediately resold our mortgage to Dovenmuehle who is rated 1 star. Do not do business with NBKC!!! They seem great up front then dump you to a trailer trash mortgage "servicer."

Horrible experience on my jumbo refinance.

Started smooth, then Vic DeSantis my "loan originator" told me I had to buy a Costco membership for $250. After my appraisal was paid for suddenly they need to see more cash for reserves. Not an extra 2000 or 3000, but $28k.

I sell some stuff and have the $28k in about ten days, but a few days later, they want to see $50k cash. No explanation on why. Vic goes on vacation, rates drop, but I'm stuck with my current loan as NBKC has no rate guarantee. I need to pay $13k in points, which would have been covered by the rate drop. I tell Vic

Be prepared to have a "blanket lien" placed against your business ....regardless of then loan amount. For example, my business is worth over $1.6 mil and I borrowed $50k from NBCK but instead of placing a lien for the $50k they placed a lien against the entire business!! Didn't see this in the fine print which is why I'm warning you.

You are correct in that BHG prepared the loan. However the loan was transferred over to NBCK and the "blanket lien" is placed in NBCK name. I guess I should tell

I recently closed on a loan Feb 5th with Keith Andrew at NBKC bank! Let me just say Keith was wonderful. This was my second home purchase. I had another loan officer since April 2018 at another bank. Let's just say that person was not experienced in VA loans and my experience was horrible. After a 10 minute conversation with Keith, he knew I could not use the VA loan at the moment, but gave me another route to go. I would recommend this bank and Keith to anyone.
