A native of Charlotte, Dr. Lisa Candon is thrilled to be practicing pediatric dentistry in her hometown! She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate studies and completed her dental training at the University of Maryland. Dr. Lisa then pursued her postdoctoral specialty training at Cincinnati Children's Hospital which is often ranked as one of the top children's hospitals in the country!
If you have ever interacted with a child who has recently experienced the curious effects of a local anesthetic, you quickly realize that it can be difficult to explain exactly what is going on. The child will be curious about the strange sensations that they feel. They will likely feel the urge to suck, chew or play with the area that had been numbed.

We love this office and I’m so thankful this is where we were referred to by our pediatrician. Staff is amazing with my son. They are very sweet and will make sure you have any questions answered before leaving. Today we had our first x-rays done and I was a little nervous bc I wasn’t sure how my son (3yrr old) but our nurse was amazing and patient with him;

Dr. Taylor and Raquel were incredibly kind and patient. My son was extremely anxious and they walked him through each step, answering questions and taking breaks as he needed them. We visited SPD today for my daughters first ever dentist appointment. She was nervous and cried at first, and wouldn’t lay back on the chair, but the sweet woman who cleaned her teeth before the dentist was SO kind. She explained all of the tools and let my daughter hold them all while my daughter was melting down. She made our experience so smooth! And then we got to meet Dr Taylor- she was so incredibly kind to my daughter and talked to her on her level and made her feel at ease. She was patient and and so sweet with her. The whole experience today went way better than I expected it to, and
