The sunset view is spectacular. The food is far from. Our server, Alek, was redeeming. Great service, and a local as well.
We are locals so we frequent restaurants nearby, for a change from the amazing Portland restaurant options.
We started with the Brussel Sprouts, excellent. Huge portion, so share.
Next, a medium rare NY Strip was well done.
The baked haddock with butter shrimp was a huge disappointment. How can a chef destroy our Maine haddock? The shrimp were "popcorn" style, tiny, drenched in butter and cream.
Next night out.....Portland.

Despite a beautiful setting, a charming waitress and generous pours on the wine, our party was underwhelmed by the experience due to the very bland and very expensive food. The baked haddock was tasteless and lukewarm, the scallops (all 3 of them!) were rubbery, the salmon was overdone, and the short-ribs stroganoff was too starchy. The whole experience might have been saved but they were out of crab cakes!

Over the years I've dined here with friends annually to celebrate our friendship circle. On this occasion we were greeted by a wonderful hostess, Iris, who gave us the best outdoor seating to watch the sunset. Unfortunately after that, the experience rapidly went downhill. Our unnamed server presented our drinks timely. However we then ordered apps and our main course at the same time, she returned in a timeframe that made me know the food was just on a heater and with both the main course and apps together. Being outside in September of course the main course would be stone cold by the time

A bit outdated, but in a beautiful location. The room was not great (kinda moldy smelling and fully carpeted), but the staff and the breakfast were awesome. I also loved the pool area and the landscaping.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. The view was very nice. We sat at the bar as we did not have reservations. We met some nice people there. The food was very good and the bartender was very nice but it was a bit overworked. That is understandable though that they are short staffed just like everywhere else and you have only a couple people trying to take care of everyone.

Slowest restaurant on the face of the earth, and the food isn't particularly anything special either. If you go you're paying solely for the view and ambiance. No chance I'd ever return

The restaurant was good overall, but then I got the chocolate mousse to go and came home to find... a miniature pudding cup? Two bites of mousse for like $10+ feels a little insane.

The view at sunset is stunning and peaceful. Dining here also can give access to cliff walk at prouts neck, which is beautiful.
Delicious starters, OK mains. Brussel sprouts were incredible, as were crab cakes!!
Very friendly and accommodating staff, abided by all Covid-19 rules, too.

Anniversary plans made for 2:30 with a reservation. When we arrived they said there were no tables available and that they would be switching dinner shortly. Disregarded the fact that we had reservations and no effort or attempt to compensate. First time and time trying to go to this establishment. What is the point of having a reservation if it will not be honored or even attempted to be honored!?

Good service. The fish in both our dishes were a bit overcooked. Which is odd since the place was not busy at all. Good wine selection.
Maybe early season kinks being worked out

Disappointed with our visit here today. We golfed at prouts neck golf course and came over to the inn at 4:30 for drinks and appetizers. No one sitting in the high tops out on the porch and 3/4 of the inside bar tables were vacant. We were told we could not sit on any of those tables because they were saved for people who wanted to eat dinner.... they were not reserved just sitting there waiting for someone who wanted dinner. What is the definition of dinner? I'm pretty sure ordering salads and appetizers is a dinner....they stuck us in the sunroom and we ordered food and drinks. Not as much

I came here on an extraordinarily beautiful sunny Maine day. The view is absolutely breathtaking and fantastic. After waiting for 20 minutes, the very competent host seated us outside as requested. The cocktails from the bar were delicious. Service, though friendly, was slow. Additionally, the food was mediocre. Given the reputation and history of this place, they could do better. It should be an absolutely wonderful experience to dine at this establishment.

The food. The view. The atmosphere. The overall experience. 5 stars. I eat here often over the summer. Whether I sit at the bar, inside dining room or my favorite location, the outside deck, the service is always great. Slow and reserved. Nobody is going to rush you. Take your time. Enjoy the experience.

Great wine list. Lots of specialty drinks and beer too. The oysters are clean and flavorful. The clam chowder is not my favorite but it's flavorful. I've also had the crab cakes and the salads. All good. Main meals are excellent too. Lobster roll and fries. Lobster ravioli. Chicken

I was at this establishment 3.5 weeks ago for a small gathering, 7 people. We called in advance (days in advance) and asked if there would be a need for reservations for a get together having drinks (weekday 4-6p) - with the potential of there being a max of 12 (all accomplished, mature professionals)- they responded, "yes, no problem at all!" We were greeted by a rude hostess who made it very clear that a small portion of the bar could be used only- this occurred two times, making us feel unwelcome. There were two high top tables that were "off limits" - and we noted as we were

Ok - I decided to give the place another try. One of the most inviting features is the spectacular view. However - if you are sitting in the back room - the view is not accessible. When I was there earlier in the week - I was stuck in the back room because the hostess told me I didn't "request" a table with a view when I made my reservations. So I just called and requested a table for 4 for lunch ...and this time I requested a table with a view. I was told they could not guarantee me a table with a view. I can't sit there with a reservation if I haven't asked for the

I was so excited when I found this inn while hunting online for the perfect place to spend our 15th anniversary. I was able to call and get clarification on the different types of rooms they offered because I wanted the perfect one for our one night in Portland. Kyle answered all my questions in regards to the different types of rooms that were available before I booked online. I immediately booked the Commodores Chambers - king/deck/bay view B&B option (vs the Admirals Chambers king/deck/limited bay view)- and we were all set for our arrival the following week.
The Inn was easy to find, parking

We were so disappointed in our meal last evening. Our food came over 30 minutes after our appetizers were finished and it was luke warm. The waitress never asked how our meal was or attempted to fill our water glasses. Not that we would have known because we couldn't hear her. The haddock dish my husband had was so heavy coated with bread crumbs, you could hardly taste anything else. Definitely not worth the $100 tab.

We love this place. The views are amazing and the food is good and reasonably priced. The hostess we had last night was horrendous, though. There were tables open reserved for potential hotel guests that never came and so we stood there with no options from the snobby hostess. The policy they have is strange but the attitude coming from the hostess was completely unacceptable.

I make an annual visit here. With the water views, it's really a must see spot. if possible, get out on the deck, which we did today. It was beautiful. As for food, I started with a perfectly made Tanqueray martini, and 1/2 dozen Pemaquid oysters. A perfect match that was accented with the shallot mignonette that accompanied the oysters. Clean, with just the right amount of briny goodness, I should have ordered a dozen.

I also had the haddock taco's. They were lightly battered with avocado and crème fresh. It was tasty with the freshness of the haddock coming through. I nice luncheon

This is for the restaurant as well as the inn. However, I have not stayed here.
Excellent, gracious, attentive service. We were a bit early for lunch/bloody Mary's on the veranda but the staff accommodated us w/ o attitude.
The inn is perched atop a well manicured knoll overlooking the bay and gorgourse views of Old Orchard Beach.
Chelse was our fabulous server. She promptly acquired our spicy amped up bloody Mary's which are accompanied by shrimp - perfect!
The chopped salad was very crisp & tasty- good portion. The coconut cream pie was decadent & expertly prepared as was the
