Mia Quintana-Sherman is truly an Artist who has been in the beauty industry for over 17 years, working and honing her distinctive skills. She completed her education and obtained her Arizona Cosmetology and Barbering licenses in the early 2000's. In 2012, she opened Mia's Hair Studio in the fashionable Down Town Scottsdale, and in 2016 the demand insisted she expand to her current location.

Everyone must go to Distinctions Salon and you will not be disappointed. This was our first time and I was so thankful that Distinctions Salon was able to schedule an appointment for me and my husband. We called on Friday and they were completely booked through the weekend but offered Monday (today) and I was relieved😅. We’re moving to Miami and we fly out Tuesday morning so Mia was a life saver for us. We’ve been so busy eliminating & selling our furniture & belongings these past few months. I went to Mia based on the reviews here, google etc and the fact she cites she does extensions. Unfortunately, I didn't find her skill set to match the reviews at all. I told her my hair had gone an extended period of time without getting the color done which was normally done every 4-5 weeks. I also was taking out semi-permanent extensions that I had done at the same intervals (for 15 years) and replacing it with a new, very simple clip-in custom extension I had made that just needed a trim/face framing. In short...the hair color is on par with what you might get at a Supercuts. My simple

Loved this salon! Upon entry, you’re required to have a mask and gloves. Mia, the owner, offered both in addition to shoe covers. When I got there, they were sanitizing the shop. The shop is clean, modern, and well put together. Mia fixed up my poor dye job in a matter of no time and matched my hair color exactly. (I got 3 compliments within 10 minutes of leaving the shop!). She spent her time cutting and styling my hair, even though I was the last appointment of the day. New clients get 10% off their first service. Prices were really reasonable, and Mia was so personal. I've been coming to this salon since I moved to AZ about 2.5 years ago. The salon has consistently been clean and organized. Mia is always very accommodating to my scheduling needs and I've never had a bad experience here. They even add in a little masssage while washing my hair which is very much appreciated! This salon is calming for me, too, as there aren't always a ton of people/10 hair dryers and 20 conversations going on at one time like many of my previous salons. Distinction Salon is one of the best salons I've ever been to! Mia was wonderful she handled my hair with such care and did the most incredible job with the Balayage and Ombre hair coloring. Mia is personable and talented. I enjoyed my first time at her Salon. She retouched my boring lash extensions from another salon and gave me that wow factor that lashes should give. Mia also helped me with my hair extensions. Taught me how to apply and style them. She really is helpful. I’d recommend her without hesitation.
