Gerry Watkins started cutting since he was in grade school and as destiny would have it; all of his sons followed in his footsteps. Together they opened the first Toni & Guy salon in Scottsdale and in 2019 launched Society Salon. Services
At Society Salon we believe in constantly developing our stylists and improving on our craft. All of our stylists are required to go through advanced training before they can work with our clients. We believe our higher standards for education is what sets us apart from other salons in Scottsdale. A stylist that has completed Society Salon's advanced training and has been taking clients for 1-5 years.

I was really excited to try someone new for my hair and unfortunately ended up extremely disappointed. I got my hair done a little over a week ago and the following week had to see a new stylist who could not believe I just got it done. She had to give me a color correction and I had to spend hundreds of dollars fixing it. The stylist was extremely friendly but seemed rushed and the final product was nothing I wanted. The stylist I saw for correction said it was extremely brassy with harsh lines/damage and did not look like it had just been done at all/correctly.

First time here and really disappointed in my hairstyle experience. I needed to find a place to get my hair done for my best friend's wedding. Since I'm not from AZ I found this salon on Yelp.
2 weeks before my hair appointment:
I made the appointment over the phone and spoke to the receptionist. I asked if they were available for the day of my event and if they could do "glamour waves" or "Hollywood waves or "S Waves". Black owned but I wouldn't necessarily go there if you have natural hair. I have 3c/4a hair and though I had gotten a vote of confidence for this location by another natural, I was unfortunately disappointed. They didn't have products meant for my hair (many of them containing drying alcohol based ingredients and little moisturizing properties). Similarly the detangling process was rougher than I'd ever think of treating my hair (my hair was combed out dry with very little product despite my protesting numerous time ). I really wanted to love the place and Caleb in general was phenomenal

This place was so gorgeous and professional. Even the service over the phone was very polite and helpful, even when we got disconnected.
My stylist was fantastic, he understood exactly what I asked for, which was just an even-ing out of my current cut/layers. Having biracial type hair, I had a bit of anxiety about having another person aside from myself touch my hair given past negative experiences, but I was pleasantly surprised here.
I definitely plan on returning in the future.

Just had my first cut at Society Salon with Raul. It was my first cut since before quarantine, so I went in with hair down my back and left with THE CUTEST French bob.
Raul was so nice to work with and made sure to check with me before doing any cutting or adding products. Everyone I spoke to at the salon was very friendly, overall the salon has a very welcoming atmosphere. Already booked my second appointment!

Fantastic ! I come to the salon based on a few Yelp reviews that highlighted stylist Nekenya for her ability to work w textured and voluminous hair ! I have a lot of hair !!! I was not disappointed . She whipped through my hair and styled it so well in like 50 mins . Impressed ! So worth it if you are new to the area . Be sure to make an appt as the place is booming ! Lots of parking and close to lots of cute places to explore. Great all around and everyone had masks which I appreciated

I am so grateful for my experience with this salon and the people in it. I came in for babylites a few weeks ago. Having recently experienced a trauma, I was more looking for a chance to just escape and zone out and it wasn't even really about my hair. I got Felix and he was really kind and understanding. Also my hair looks amazing. I left the salon feeling so much better than when I came in and felt the need to say thank you. What a great salon with a positive vibe and nice people!

Meg Knowles is my colorist. I'm a blonde with a pixie cut.Today I decided to go with purple shadow root. I came in with questions and concerns and she answered and we came to solutions together. As always, she delivered. It even could have been darker but she didn't want to take any chances of doing too much and not being able to go back, because we can always add more. That's a great attitude to have! I recommend Meg... especially if you are blonde. I like a certain shade and she gets it right every time!

I found this place and my stylist Nekenya from the great Yelp reviews.
If you have thick/wavy/long hair and are looking for long layers I highly recommend Nekenya. She did a fantastic job at understanding what I wanted and what would look good on me. She was also friendly and made me have a relaxing experience.
The actual salon itself was also nice and easy to find!

I just moved here from another part of Arizona and was nervous to try a new stylist since I'd had the same one for years in my hometown. I booked a session with Cassandra to get blonded. I wanted a lived in look that could grow out nicely. Cassandra and the rest of the staff were amazing, my color came out beautifully as well as my blow dry and style done by the amazing Anthony. I was so happy with everything that happened today. After my experience with these new extensions, Adam (one of the owners) inspected my hair and I realized may possibly have been a bad batch of hair (which does happen unfortunately). My extensions were horrible at the ends but Adam is replacing them free of charge. I let him know that I wish I had a longer length and which he is replacing them free of charge (due to the hair I had bought which were ruined at the ends). I am new to AZ and was looking for a new hair stylist and read the wonderful reviews on Yelp and decided to book an appointment. I was able to book for the same day. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming! NeKenya did a fantastic job with my hair. I was so comfortable with her and she made me feel like I had known her as a long time friend! This is the BEST hair salon in EVER. I have been stationed in many different countries and states with the Air Force and I have never had a such a wonderful experience with such a great team...Adam ALWAYS keep me looking FLY and JoJo ALWAYS makes me feel PRETTY with with best color. I FOUND SHELLY!!!!! I have been looking for Shelly since this place was Toni & Guy 2 years ago. Obviously I didn't look very well because she was right where I left her at 7029 E First Ave haha Anywhoo....returned today and let me tell you it was as great as the first visit. Shelly is so good at what she does. She's genuine and honest in her opinions and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I walked out feeling so beautiful today.

So I came here for a blowout party with 10 girlfriends. I had Logan do my blowout and she was very pleasant and sweet! She had me do a sweet pea & pepper mint conditioning treatment since my hair was just a bit dry from my Yucatan Vacation!
The salon itself I felt lacked a bit of realistic scheduling when it came to timing blowouts. I typically get blowouts done within 30 minutes each of our blowouts here took at least 45 minutes
Myself personally I was not thrilled with this scent as I walked into the salon. I would recommend freshening it up by opening the doors and maybe getting a candle
