The story of Cargo Eye Care of Las Colinas can't be told without telling the story of its founder Dr. Jonathan Cargo. A metroplex native, Dr. Cargo may have received much of his formal optometric training in Florida, but when it was time to established his own optometry practice, he came back home.

We are always on the lookout for skilled, dependable people to add to our growing team. If you are energetic and hard working with a can-do attitude, we would love to hear from you!
Get up to a $210 rebate on Bausch + Lomb BioTrue contact lenses when you purchase an annual supply! Call us at (972) 432-2020 to get more details about this awesome offer! You know the sound. That unmistakable "crunch" when you've unknowingly stepped on your glasses or perhaps even took a seat only to be reminded of where you left your glasses (a little too late, unfortunately).

Cargo Eye Care of Las Colinas offers comprehensive eye exams adapted to your unique circumstances and takes into consideration all the concerns associated with the season of life you are in.

Well, first of all, Ashleigh had to assist me to this page. She helped me all throughout my transition to see again. 😭I broke my glasses and wasn't able to function at all. BUT THEN Blake helped me w/ the pprwrk. What a joy. She downloaded my insurance card from my phone bc I left it home. I was a simple wreck!
Lisa gave me all the necessary tests bc I hadn't had new glasses since 2009. (Please judge me bc sometimes he can hurt ourselves.) I was nervous, but everything was so calming. I guessed when I couldn't see the letters, but Cargo Eye Care helped me to help me.
Dr. Cargo gave quick results

I have come to Cargo Eye Care for several years. I often see Dr Cargo but have see Dr Patel a couple times. Both are good. I actually tried to get an ophthalmologist closer to home but they all wanted to charge extra ($45-50) for glasses prescriptions. My appointments are for medical reasons and at Cargo I get my prescription included with my medical eye exam. Cargo has its own marketing methods in that they have an in office eye glasses shop and they up charge you ($39) if you want to use a machine to avoid being dilated. Also there is often a significant wait for appointments, so plan for that

My husband came into your office for an eye appointment and after multiple attempts to call afterwards about ordering contacts with no response from your office, he ended up ordering them from somewhere else. Today we got a bill in the mail trying to charge us $650. The only thing you guys did was the exam, which is covered by our insurance at 100%. And no agreement was made to purchase them since we never spoke with an office rep. In addition, the bill doesn’t even give an itemized list of what each charge on the bill is for and only has the letter A on each line. We will be calling this week

Good collection of frames, but we were made to feel UNWELCOME having entered the store 15 min before closing on 9/24. We told them we won't be longer than 5-7 min, but the ladies starting passing comments such as you can come back, you don't have to buy now multiple times.
Felt disrespected as a customer, we've all stayed at work 5 min extra many times, but staff here is very unfriendly.
Note to management - instead of replying and apologizing for our bad experience, it would be great to train/talk to your staff to treat customers better, so it doesn't happen to the next customer. Thank you!

My child was taken back for initial tests and we, the parents, were asked to remain in the lobby. I had to push my way to the back because it was taking too long and she had him in the exam room when she was supposed to get us when she was taking him back. Then they performed a test on my 10-year old that didn't need to be done and wasn't covered by insurance just to get payment. It's sneaky and disrespectful and she is lucky I felt merciful and didn't raise hell. The doctor is good but the staff including front desk is deplorable.

The response below does not address the issue

I had a great 1st appointment at Cargo today and I'm sure future visits will be as pleasant. I was able to get what I needed and wanted and sometimes that combination of service does not happen in many places. Everyone was super nice and I felt welcomed. I am big on positive energy and Cargo was an energy match for me. Much appreciated 🙂

I called on Friday to let them know I was coming in to get my new glasses. Very rude person said "Call when you are outside.". Called when I arrived. Was told they would meet me outside. Came outside and handed me a bag. I said "Is there not an expectation that some adjustment will be needed?" She said "Oh yeah! We can do that out here. We are trying to control the number of people in the office." There were 4 cars in the parking lot besides mine and a lady came got in one of the the cars while I was standing outside.

I put the glasses on and knew immediately

I was already happy with Cargo Eye Care as my yearly optometrist, but today I had a panic moment when I thought I scratched my eye and got my contact stuck! They were able to get me in, and I know this has to be an incredibly busy time of the year so I was super appreciative! The staff and doctor were extremely patient and comforting. Luckily nothing serious and some drops were all I needed but I am super appreciative of the team at Cargo!

Very dissatisfied with this place. Rescheduled my appointment just so they could reschedule my appt again. Won't be back. Office staff are rude and annoying. Patients are a dime a dozen to them. Wouldn't care less if they lose you as a client. Prescription caused me to have headaches and migraines. Won't be back!!

Great customer service. Dr. Patel is awesome and so is the staff. They have a great selection of glasses. Modernized equipment and a state of the art facility. Glad I chose them for my optometry needs. Good, honest doctors who fully care are hard to find. I highly recommend Cargo Eye Care

What a great experience! From checking in, to paying at the end of my visit, every single person was very courteous and friendly, and clearly wanted to ensure that I had a good understanding of everything! The staff are knowledgeable about the equipment and products and answer questions readily. There was almost no wait time throughout the whole process, from being brought back from the waiting area, to the different staff members who entered the exam room to perform their various tasks. The icing on the cake was the cleanliness of the office and each room I passed. Will definitely be back, and

Went for my yearly checkup yesterday and decided it was time to move on. After 45 mins (from appointment time) I had not seen the doctor. When I called to make my appointment, I was offered to see the new doctor. I wanted to schedule with Dr. Cargo (which I feel is still a great doctor). I arrived for my appointment 15 minutes early because I knew I needed to update my information with a name change. I had no problem waiting until my appointment time but as time slipped by, I had to inquire how much longer. They came and got me 20 minutes after my appointment time. The devices they have now are

I went to Cargo Eye Care because they carried the Crizal lenses, which I was interested in. I had the typical eye exam and selected the Crizal Saphire lenses for my progressives.

I had to send my current set of glasses with progressive lenses in (for some reason they couldn't trace the lenses). I asked that they return the old lenses as a backup when finished.

About 10 days later, I got the call that my glasses were back. I tried them on and immediately, I knew something was not right. They suggested that I wear them for a week since there was a small change to my prior prescription

Great experience!

The office was neat and tidy.

I was geeeted and my visit was explained in detail before I ever walked into the exam rooms. They had, what seemed like, advanced technology, things I hadn't seen before. Also, avoiding the eye drop dilation test with a more advanced test was a great bargain!

Kimberly put me at ease and was very thorough as well as kind.

Dr Cargo was very knowledgeable and patient.

Denise was a helpful decision maker when it came tonpicking out frames.

I want to start off by saying that the doctor was great - only reason for the 2 stars, else it would be a 1 star. The low rating is primarily for the staff at the checkout counter.

They did a regular eye exam for my allergies but refused to give me a prescription. The reason given was that the appointment was not for a routine eye exam. I was asked to come back and do the same tests and pay them again. This visit was coded as an emergency even though I did not state that and I was charged $100.

I showed the $20 Yelp discount coupon and was informed that it will be a credit for the next visit

I started seeing Dr Cargo when he was in Irving Mall. Then he transferred to Las Colinas in a bigger place as his customers grew. He is a wonderful and caring eye doctor. And very thorough at what he does. His staff is very friendly and helpful. I recently had the pleasure with Phyllis, Gabby and Blake. Who were very patient with me as this will be the first time I will be having to wear glasses all the time. And not just for reading. I have also found through my own research that his prices are pretty hard to beat. I literally checked all the eye places around Irving one year and still would have

I used to go to this practice a few years ago and went back after switching employers. I was happy to come back since they were usually very helpful, the Dr. was friendly and patient. The experience was pretty good until it was time to pay my what I thought was, $20 co-payment.
I'm really upset that I drove over on my lunch break from Dallas to Irving. I was charged an additional $30 for a dry eye exam that was not properly explained to me. And I don't even have dry eyes! Really sucks because I planned on purchasing a pair of glasses but after this experience, I won't be back and
