The room was not cleaned thoroughly. There was dust accumulated on furniture, surfaces that were not wiped clean (tables, phones, doors/windows, etc.), and hair was all over the bathroom floor. The lamp was missing a light bulb, and the front desk did not have anything to replace it. I mentioned this to the general manager the next day at check out; he didn't apologize or seem concerned about it at all. It was definitely not worth the money that was paid for the room.

I do not understand why they charge 170 a night for what they offer. The front desk staff was rude and made us come down from the 4th floor twice to verify things that should have been dealt with while checking in. For the price we paid, I expected a ready and hot breakfast the next morning, and I was super let down by it. It was a standard cold breakfast or you could make oatmeal or heat up a Jimmy Dean sandwich. I would love my money back, or in return another 2 night stay and we will just plan for a different breakfast option. I won't hold my breath though. Overpriced, and not worth it. Should

The service was very disappointing. We paid for a full night stay and we were not able to check in until well after our check in time. I have never had this happen at any other hotel in my life. If it has, they quickly were able to get us a different room or compensate us. Staff was rude and did not offer any sort of compensation. We were late for wedding events due to this and being unable to get ready in our room. I understand being low staffed. However, I do not agree with paying full price for something that I was unable to utilize. This is not staffing but a management issue. Disappointing

This was truly a terrible experience. I k ow they were very busy this weekend. We had a wedding starting at 4pm and stopped in 4 hours before check in to get better check in time to get ready. All rooms are supposed to be ready by 3pm yet mine wasn’t until 3:45.
Once I got to the room it had the unmistakable smell of a room that previously allowed smoking, even though it doesn’t now.
The ceiling was smoke stained. You could tell the room haven’t been used for hotel guests in a while due to the layer of dust still on everything. This after I was told it “just finished being cleaned”

I was very impressed with this hotel and would happily stay there again if I happened to be in Winona. The staff were friendly and accommodating -- at the front desk, the restaurant, and the bar. My room was large, clean, and attractive. I have nothing negative to say about The Plaza Hotel & Suites.

Very nice place to stay, only stayed the night but the staff I encountered was very friendly, there was a lot of hockey families here and being a former hockey parent I know this could be a loud hotel but I didn't hear a peep. Very clean, large, comfortable room. It was less expensive than Holiday Inn right next door and I would recommend to anyone staying in town!

I don't usually vent and write reviews about things like this, but this hotel has been absolutely horrendous. There have been so many things that were off. The worst is the attitudes. THEY DONT CARE if your stay is good or bad. You can complain...they don't care. From running our room charges through a full day before we arrived, then what can only be assumed to be previously used shampoo/conditioner (since they were half full), to the bathtub that doesnt drain...not to mention the breakfast of a yogurt, poached egg and toast that took 45 minutes to arrive...COLD...followed by coming

We stayed overnight on Thanksgiving and this place is adequate. On checking our bank account online, however, we discovered that they charged our credit card twice AND added 20% to our bill for "potential damages and incidental charges". NOWHERE in the receipt or at the front desk did they ever say they would add those charges to our bill. Now it is up to our bank to release the extra 20%charges (there are no damages in the room, we even left a tip for housekeeping). Very unexpected and unprofessional. We have stayed in hotels all over the world and have never experienced this.

Everything was good, rooms are pretty big with 3 tvs. (bedroom, living room and bathroom). clean and comfortable. would stay here again, but be warned: the wifi is HORRIBLE. currently typing on LTE because the wifi gets disconnected after 30 seconds. fix that, plaza hotel, and you'd get a 5 from me.

My husband, myself and our two year old son stayed here. We really enjoyed it! The suite was not too bad--$130 a night. We wanted this so that our son could take his nap while we were still able to function and not tip toe around the room.
Beds were great. Our room was clean with modern bedding and furniture. They have free wifi, cable with flat screen TVs and an awesome pool area! The pool area is fantastic for little ones.
