A decade ago, Jersey City's Little India stretch of Newark Avenue that descends rather alarmingly toward the Meadowlands swamps was really Little Gujarat. This bustling district teemed with immigrants from that far-western Indian state who patronized its temples, groceries, sari stores, restaurants, gold-dowry jewelers, and sweet shops.

Deccan Spice catered our wedding this year for 450 people and it was fabulous. We were looking for a caterer to do Indian food with good presentation,authentic taste and family style. After trying out a few Indian restaurants recommendations, which didn't measure up, we were lucky to find Deccan Spice. From the first phone conversation, they were personable and easy to work with and helped us think through the logistics and menu. We had a tasting session at their restaurant with some of our friends and they were very responsive to the minor changes we wanted. Deccan Spice was very thorough

Please don't order food from these guys. I had a very bad experience and ruined my party. I order food for 40 members and some items like sweets, Naan, Papad and Starters were not even sufficient for 25 members. These guys are so cheap that they gave enough quantity for the items, which cost very less and food was not even great at all and some items like Tamarind Rice, Bhindi Pepper, Bagara Baingan were worst and left untouched by most of the members.
