Your eye's natural lens sits behind the iris and pupil and works similarly to a camera lens. This natural crystalline lens of the eye is clear and is primarily responsible for focusing light on the retina. Any clouding of the natural lens is called a cataract. Cataracts cause blurry vision that affects the person's ability to see clearly and function effectively.

As a corneal graft patient (Univ of Illinois 1982), I have been fortunate to have had doctors on the leading edge of corneal medicine. So glad I found Dr. Sanan when I moved to Tucson. For me, Pima Eye Institute is the best eye clinic in Tucson and as a research scientist, I have checked them all. They care!

I had an appointment there today (12/28/21). My experience with Dr. Tovares and her predecessor were great. I am diabetic and so the Dr.s were on the lookout for any complications. On one of my visits Dr. Tovares say something she didn't like and sent me to Retina Associates. At that practice you are a number, not a patient. So after several yrs I made another appointment with Dr. Tovares. They couldn't seem to find me in their records. After some time the lady I was speaking with found them. I was not surprised that PIMA EYE INSTITUTE more than met my expectations. The Institute is highly recommended by Tucson loyalists.
Dr. Lindsey Tavares takes her time and with knowledge and kindness explained very carefully the care I will need as a patient with newly diagnosed Diabetes 2 and as a senior citizen. There are others in the office that I would like to recognize but don’t have their names as yet. AMY ROBERTS, the Office Manager, was particularly helpful and gracious.
All in all, I will recommend this wonderful Institute to everyone who needs visual care.

Dr. Sanan is a great eye doctor but his time management skills are terrible. Your 3pm appointment can be 2 hours later. Have been left sitting in his office while he went and took care of a water leak at another location. He does NOT respect your time. You state in your answer he did not leave during this last appointment....I did not say during this last appointment, it was a previous appointment he left and when he returned HE told us he left over a leak at another location. You have others sitting in your office and upset they are missing appointments. You need to just tell people their 1:00

I had very strange viral eye infection and nobody could diagnose my conditions. I went to 5 different doctors, including eye specialist, urgent cares, and ER. Nobody didn’t even try to listen to me, few wrote a wrong records. Finally I got lucky to meet dr. Sanan. He is very attentive, polite, and professional. He prescribed me steroid eye drops, exactly as asked from 5 different drs and nobody honored my request, but wasted my 3weeks time and gave me wrong eye drops and caused even worse side effects. I would highly recommend dr. Sanan for your precious eye care. And also all stuff in office

My husband had lasik with Dr. Sanan about a month ago. We loved everything about it, the staff and Dr. We went to 3 different places for consultations. He was the last one and we knew this was the place. I went with his to all of his appointments. Dr. Sanan explained everything asked if we had questions. Eyes are nothing to play around with, we did find a place that was less expensive, however, we rather pay more knowing my husbands eyes are in great hands.
I can't recommend him highly enough.
