Physical Therapy is a conservative intervention that addresses the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems of the body. If a patient complains of pain and there is no pathology or disease found, typically a muscle or nerve dysfunction can be the culprit. Therapists conduct comprehensive evaluations in private treatment rooms to test the function, quality and tone of each muscle involved and locate the cause of the dysfunction.
The New Dimensions Physical Therapy physical therapists are all specially trained. Together, we have taken numerous courses with emphasis on the spine, sacrum, coccyx, pelvic floor muscles and general chronic pain management. Our diverse backgrounds create the perfect environment for healing. While these courses are above and beyond the normal physical therapy curriculum, the dedication of our therapists is unparalleled.
Becoming pregnant is an amazing process. The body is an incredible machine where at the successful end, you have actually made a human being. For the woman and her body, it is a fantastic journey. It can also be incredibly nauseating, incredibly sweaty, incredibly uncomfortable and maybe even downright painful.
Pelvic Girdle Pain during pregnancy can be quite debilitating for many pregnant women. In United States, roughly 33-50% of women experience pelvic girdle pain before 20 weeks of gestation and 60-70% by the late pregnancy.
