RI, or Rod Intercept, as measured by the AdaptDx is the time it takes in minutes for your vision to adapt from bright light to darkness. Dark adaptation is greatly impaired in the early stages of macular degeneration. As a result, your RI can provide the earliest warning sign of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) before it affects your vision.
Unlike a vision screening or other general eye test, comprehensive eye exams evaluate the entire health of the eye. They also help the optometrist or ophthalmologist determine your unique prescription. Comprehensive eye exams should begin as an infant to ensure proper eye and vision development. Ongoing eye health examinations at regular intervals are also important as many eye diseases and vision changes can occur without warning signs.

Talk about a bad experience. Got annual eye exam and glasses. They come across as being caring and great customer service. So far from it. Beyond billing for eye disease that I do not have. They are so over priced. I questioned the bill and Mary was down my throat. So rude. I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years and have never had a pair of glasses either cost so much but look so bad. Again when questioned Mary was so rude and abrasive. Can’t believe she can even treat customers this way screaming. All I can say is-go else where. Saw your response to my review. Your response makes no sense

I’m a nervous patient and this was the easiest and most pleasant experience I’ve ever had at an optometrist! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. All eye screens were super easy to do and very detailed. No air puff test! Dr Fowler was very kind and thorough. And Mary helped me pick out and adorable pair of glasses. Front desk (so sorry I didn’t catch your name) was super friendly.

How are these people getting good reviews? This doctor is only out for peoples money. I will never ever suggest this place to anyone I care about. The rudest staff, especially the older woman who works there, and the amount of tests I had to go through when all I wanted was a new pair of glasses. Tried to tell me I have "macular degeneration" yet, when I went to a different center, my eyes were perfect... yea money hungry.

With the lack of customer service we have all experienced the past few years I was very pleasantly surprised with the amount of care and professionalism of the staff.
Dr Fowler has a wonderful bed side manner and I felt she truly cared about how well I see and the health of my eyes. I was also impressed with their state of the art equipment. I have never seen most of the new technology Eye Ect Optical has in their office. I can not say enough about how well I was treated and my experience with all the staff.
I will definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

I have been suffering with dry eye for a year, not knowing for sure what it was. My friend Lisa works at Eyes Etc. She gave me a gift certificate for an eye exam which turned out to be the BEST eye exam I've ever had. Dr. Fowler explained to me how dry eyes can damage your eyes and can ultimately tear your cornea if left untreated. I had immediate relief the first night I tried the dry eye ointment, Retaine, in my eyes. I definitely recommend Dr. Fowler, and her very friendly, professional staff. Everything about my visit was so pleasant. From the time I walked in the door ,the friendly greeting from the front desk made me feel like I was a happy priority. I didn't have a long wait at all and the waiting area was so cute and comfortable. The kindness of the girl who worked me up and how knowledgeable she was during my work up was so refreshing. Should of listened to the bad reviews. Boy all was true. Sooo over priced. Don't know how they get away with it. Billing as emergency when was my scheduled annual eye exam. She bills as a specialist and is not. They billed my health insurance. For what---I have no eye issues other than glasses. And when you ask about bill (which you don't get itemized). Mary gets so offensive and rude. Glasses had to go back to lab 3 times...all due to ordering wrong. Was a fight with Mary to get done. Dr finally sent back . I've been going to Dr. Fowler for years . Have followed her from her previous location. She and her staff are amazing. I've had nothin but great experiences . I have dry eye so I go to her every 4 months and wouldn't ever go anywhere else . And her selection of glasses is truly amazing! This place is amazing. The staff is incredibly helpful and it is beautiful. I had tests that I had never had before. I'm not sure what the other reviewers are talking about but they have a MASSIVE selection of glasses and no one is pushing you to get the most expensive ones there. DO NOT USE THIS AWFUL UNETHICAL PLACE! This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had getting glasses! I got an eye exam and ordered glasses. They took 3 times as long as they promised and were utterly wrong, botched, unusable. They agreed to redo them and again, they made a mistake with the lenses. I was getting ready to leave town and wanted to cancel the whole order, but they were eager to keep my business, so they agreed to give me a second pair for free, once the first pair came back. Eye glass wearers beware. This entire business is built around scamming insurance companies if you have one and scamming you. Business objective is to get you to spend as much money before realize your insurance has not been billed. You will not receive an itemized receipts everything is handwritten and you will not receive with up front pricing. I was overcharge for an exam and and a contact fitting by $49.
