Dr. Hanson graduated from the Nova S.E. School of Optometry in 1997 at the ripe old age of 42. He has been practicing in the Fort Myers area for over 20 years. He is well known for his kind and gentle nature and personally discusses the unique visual needs of each and every patient.
Dr. Hanson is Florida Board Certified to diagnosis, treat and monitor many eye diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and many other ocular diseases.He uses state of the art technology like the Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) that is a medical cross-sectional diagnostic imaging of the retina and the Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) that measures the electrical activity of the entire vision system.

Hanson Eyecare was suggested by my daughter's pediatric opthamologist so thought we'd check it out since they accepted VSP & welcomed children. Since our first visit in 2020 we have had nothing but great, positive experiences & would recommend to others. This was a big change for my 7yo but Hanson Eyecare is always patient, accommodating, knowledgeable, welcoming, friendly, clean, COVID cautious and more which has been most appreciated & valued!!
They have a decent variety of options for all (infants, kids, adults, female/male, sunglasses, accessories, etc), at reasonable prices.

Dr. Hansen has a great practice. This may be one of the last places in Fort Myers where you have a private practice that still operates with patient care and customer service as their primary focus. After just one visit I am on a first name basis with everyone on his team. They couldn’t have been more kind and attentive when it came to helping me pick out the right frames.
Dr. Hansen takes his time, he is very kind, very patient and has had one of the most successful practices in our area for decades.

I found Dr. Hanson after having my appointment lost by one of the areas larger eye patient mills. Actually spoke with his staff rather than a semi-automated reservation service. His location is great with other frequently visited businesses right next door. My entire visit was a very pleasant experience from the friendly, helpful staff to the thoroughness and personal attention of Dr. Hanson.
