The heating barely comes through, it'll be in the 30s and maintenance people refuse to turn the heat up. The little bit of heat that actually comes through is so faint you barely be able to tell its heating the room

Conveniently located between Shaker Square, Larchmere, and the RTA train line, Shaker Town House has been my best apartment experience yet. The staff has been nothing but friendly and genuinely helpful (the two don't always go hand-in-hand) and for young folks like my partner and I, you really can't beat the price or the choice of hardwood flooring.
Plus, there's a great view from the rooftop. While the laundry room could definitely use some love, they did finally upgrade to an app to operate them.
I will say that during COVID, the office staff became way less attentive and available. I hope

I lived on the 7th floor of Shaker Town House for 2 years. I lived somewhere else my first year in Cleveland, and I can assure you that Capital Properties Management is far superior to the others in Shaker Square. Cheryl and Eryca are great, hard-working women, and I'm sad I had to say goodbye to them. I have thoroughly enjoyed living here, and because of that I want to address the silly complaints I see others have made.
1. Raise rent every year—yeah, every apartment building in this area does. Guess what? Rent increased $5.
2. I have never seen a single cockroach. I’ve seen a few spiders

ROACHES. No AC so your apartment will get up to 100 degrees, you’ll need two ac units. My kitchen has no outlets besides behind the fridge so I can’t plug up any appliances. Car broken into even though I pay to park in the garage. Package stolen they told me they weren’t responsible. Constant plumbing issues someone else’s water was being drained into my sink. Did I mention the roaches?? This place is just not worth the money. The location isn’t even worth it anymore because the neighborhood is getting too bad to walk around. I’ve been here for two years and can’t wait to move. Did

Warning!!! Not a good and safe place to live. It does not accommodate the elderly, both elevators brake often and it is not repair right away, it takes three to four days. No heater 24/7, it gets turn off at certain hours of the day, most of the time at night. When temperatures where in the 30-low 40's the furnace was off. I was never told that the paint has lead, and when I moved my parents; my dad is blind and mom has issues falling, to the newly painted apartment, few months later, the paint started pupping out like pop corn from the ceiling and walls. Told the office "office told me, oh no

I've lived in shaker house for two years in that time the maintenance was rarely done and when done wasn't done properly. The staff was nice but uncaring and they never give proper 24 hour notice for entering your apartment(which violates the lease and the law mind you) .I would work 10am to midnight and there would be no note when I get home but the next day when I leave at 10 there would be notice to enter at noon to 5 that same day. The apartment are I was paying 574$ for a studio/efficiency apartment and had to pay over $1600 just to move in with a credit score of over 700 and I can't stress

I will tell my little story about this apartment complex. Stayed at Shaker Townhouse for 20 months, but I have just recently left due to finding a job not within the Cleveland area.
On the 7-story building, I got a corner apartment on the 6th floor. I bring this up because the upper floors of the building get hot all year round. Predictably, it is the worst in the summer. My first summer at this apartment I had to move my pet out due to the risk of them dying from a heat stroke while I was at work during the day. Even with windows open, there was little relief for them (or me).
Since the building

I lived in the shaker house building for five years. I need to move for a new job. The Shaker Square location is terrific. The building is safe and very quiet. The apartment has lots of closet space, though the kitchen was a bit small. I have had little maintenance issues since then. The few maintenance requests I did have were always promptly dealt with. Overall, I would highly recommend this apartment building to anyone.

Ron Fritz's review is completely accurate. These people are crooks and want to squeeze as much money from you as possible. As a naive kid fresh out of college, despite good credit and rental history, my security deposit was doubled. This, mind you, was after we waited TWO MONTHS to get our applications approved. We were told our move in date only two weeks prior, and were moving in from out of state. I attempted to renew my lease this year with a new roommate, and I had to get approved AGAIN despite living there already, and this time (despite better credit and income) they wanted a TRIPPLED security
