Even during the Rainey season this place was nice. Loved the river veiw and room had everything we needed. The gal at the front desk was very kind and concerned that we may hear the people above us and we could but I've stayed in worse.

To be honest, I am not the type to truly put a negative review. However, I personally feel its good to express my opinions as well.
For starters - Pleasant front desk agent, Clean room, Towels folded neatly, Heater was blasting when I walked in.
Now lets talk about why I am giving a one star review - I stayed here on the 17th of December 2021. In my stay we encountered an issue with the TV not functional, called the front desk lady said yeah we have several issues in rooms with tv complaints. She offered to come in, and resolve the issue. We allowed her to do so, and she did fix the issue.

Room was clean and the view of the river was great. We woke up late to head to the airport, and had no hot water. Called the front desk and then informed us that the room shared the water heater with the room next door, and the neighbor must haves used it all. They offered late checkout, but this wouldn't work for us. Really would have appreciated a heads-up about the hot water situation upon check-in. Pray for people on the airplane who sit next to us!

The room was cold, so I doubled the comforter to keep warm. In the morning I was looking forward to a hot shower to warm up. The shower started off Luke warm and got cold very quickly. After taking a cold shower I got out into a cold room. I told the front desk about my experience and asked for a refund. She gave me the general managers name. Amy Graham and her email address and told me all disputes should be emailed. I asked to talk with her or the owner Ron Moor. She refused, however she called Amy the general manager. And the girl at the desk said thank he GM would come down and talk with me

Quaint little motel. Had a nice view of the river. Bed was comfortable. My only complaint would be the bathroom was built for people shorter then myself at 5'6".

The staff was the friendliest of the 4 motels we stayed at and had the best coffee out of them too! I just wish we had more time to explore the area in the daytime there. I will DEFINITELY stay here again in the future and would recommend it to people.
One small suggestion about the breakfast: A motel on the coast we stayed at just had out packaged food for guests. Eggs, bagels, waffles, cereal all packaged and stuff. Hope that helps.

Pros:
Nice location
Beds were decent

Cons:
No A/C
Yard sale furniture
Cramped room sizes
No elevator. Only had second floor rooms and didn't warn us. We had a elderly person.
Door misaligned. Difficult to lock and open.
Chipped water glass I cut my lip on
Broken extremely wobbly tiny ceiling fan.
Price!!!

This is a budget hotel charging mid-range hotel prices. If you are looking for comparable rooms check out the budget national chains for better value.

TV remote does not work. I purchased new batteries and still it only worked to it turn on/off. Pillows very small and not comfortable.

There's a fountain near room 240 that for unknown reasons is on all night, making it hard to sleep. Walls are very thin.

Room smells like old dirty bleach rags..very distinct.

not a good experience.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The view was amazing. The staff was friendly. The room was super clean. Showers had a great water pressure. Nothing fancy, but nice and cozy. The only thing I would add is to bring your own hairdryer because they do not provide those. I would definitely stay here again.

Four of us stayed here for an overnight on a coastal trip before heading back to Portland the next day.
The check in was fine and our rooms were clean. We had one room with a river view and one without.
When hanging out in the room before dinner, we noticed that all of the furniture seemed to be riddled with small holes. There was no rhyme or pattern to the holes and made me think that someone prior had vandalized the furniture, so I called the front desk about it. They said that was just the way the furniture came when they bought it new???
Also noticed a laminated card with instructions on

Need to apologize for leaving a poor review above. I do not know how to edit. But I was 'finally' able to cancel through Expedia. I will NEVER use a third-party to book accommodations again though. Hopefully, hotels will opt out of using them too. We look forward to going to River House Inn in the near future.

Highly recommend! Our family requested early check-in so our toddler could take a nap and while the front desk staff couldn’t make any guarantees, they went above and beyond! They reserved a room away from foot traffic so it would be quieter for our toddler and called us when our room was ready the day of our reservation. Huge thanks to the cleaning and front desk staff for raising the bar! Great room, great river view! Can’t wait to go back!

Nice, clean rooms. Great location. However - we reserved 4 identical rooms, when we checked in we were given two different rates with no explanation or corrections. We were stuck so stayed anyway. No breakfast:(
Please read River House's response. Excellent information and a good lesson. Thank you!! We will call YOU next time for sure.

Great room but the only downside was the house cleaning starts at 7 am and they don't inform you. 2 mornings in a row. The room above us sounded like there was a marathon in the room from 7 am til we left the room.

The location is superb. Our riverfront balcony provided hourly entertainment from cormorants, egrets, deer, seals and purple martins. High tide brought seals and spooky dorsal fins poking over the surface of the water. Low tide brought geese, deer and herons feeding in the mud flats.

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and all our requests were cheerfully met.

The room is not fancy, but it's clean and everything works. The bath/shower was a puzzler, however, as turning it on requires pulling the handle so hard you're sure you're going to break the thing. Walls and floors

Its a wonderfully situated motel, on the suislaw river at the base of the suislaw bridge. We loved the views of course. I thought the place was on the drafty side, and small for the price. It was super clean and everything worked. It was annoying to hear everyone on either side of me and above me opening and closing their ancient sliding doors. it sounded like people were moving big pieces of furniture around all day. I had an half empty box of Kleenex and half a roll of TP. (two people, 2 nights which they remedied when we went down to the office. The final straw is the small 3"x3"

3 stars meaning "A-ok" for staying on a Sunday night. The 1-night stay for a basic no-view room was $100. The desk girl was friendly. The only weird issue is a warning about if you loose your plastic room key they will charge you for that. That seems a bit ridiculous and reminiscing of a Motel 6. This is the first room key card I have ever seen that is blank with no advertising so maybe that is why they feel they should charge?

The best feature of this motel for me is the location since it's in Florence Old Town area and close to all the touristy gift shops and restaurants

Comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, deck, quiet and great view. Staff was friendly and helpful. My wife uses a walker to get around and staff let me see the room before checking in to make sure she'd be ok.

This review is LONG overdue. We stayed here on a whim during our road trip. We were on the road for close to 12 hrs on where looking for a place to rest. We stumbled upon this place and still reminisce about how great our brief stay was. The room was Very clean. The staff was very friendly and checked us in quickly. In the morning they had great breakfast and even had onsite laundry faculties.

The location is stunning as well. We took a morning stroll after breakfast and were taking back by tranquil setting.

If you ever find yourself in Florence, OR stay here! We still think about

Charming motel (normally an oxymoron), but really, you can tell these folks care!

I confess I didn't utilize my charming room on the second floor overlooking the parking lot more than several hours overall, as I was in town for the birth of my Granddaughter and due to a difficult delivery and complications, I checked in very very late. Fortunately, I had the sense to call earlier to let them know that I didn't know when I would be arriving. They were kind enough to understand and tell me what I needed to do when I arrived. This was very reassuring, and I appreciated it.
