The counseling experience consists of a unique blend of relationship, soul searching, and decision making. In my practice you will be both accepted for who you are and encouraged to become more of who you want to be. If you include your phone number I'll be happy to give you a call to set up your first appointment. Please let me know if you are looking for individual, couples, or family counseling, whether you would like to use insurance, and briefly the issues for which you are looking to receive help.
Services
Individual counseling is for personal growth and development. You'll work with me to identify areas for change in your life and set goals to make those changes. At times people find it helpful to invite family members to participate in their individual sessions and I encourage this inclusion. Couples counseling occurs between two people who are in an intimate relationship.
Insurance Options: I accept many Highmark insurance plans as well as Optum (United Behavioral Health), and Aetna. Please check with your insurance company to ensure that Erika Anderson is listed as a provider. If I am not yet a provider for your insurance plan, you can choose to pay the cost of the session and submit to your insurance company for out-of-network benefits.
This is (or will become) a collection of information, links, apps, etc. that I find interesting or helpful. Do you enjoy talking with your partner? How well do you know your him or her? Want a playful way to spend a little quality time together? I found this app which was developed by the Gottman Institute.
Beginning 3/20/2020, and until the state shutdown is lifted, all counseling sessions will be conducted online through the service doxy.me or through Optum's unique site. You can attend the session using a computer or your cell phone. Payments can be made via Venmo or Cash app; if you do not have my code I can send this to you.

Erika demonstrates rare and precious skill as a counselor, moving gracefully between support, encouragement, and accountability, all with compassion, professionalism, and wisdom. I'm deeply grateful for the role she's played and continues to play in my personal well-being and in the health of my marriage!
