Jeff and I have over 30 years of world travel experience between us. After returning home we realized the type of hotel experiences that we have enjoyed in remote places like Central America, Fiji, Tahiti, and Indonesia were unavailable here in the United States. Around the surf world you hear terms like, Ohana, Pura Vida, Aloha, Dolce Vida, etc.
There are many breaks within minutes of Nomads Hotel. San Clemente Pier and T-Street are just a short walk from Nomads but the main attraction for surfers in San Clemente is TRESTLES! Trestles is 5 short minutes away from Nomads Hotel and our "Travel All Trestles Shuttle" is available free of charge for surf groups of 4 or more.
Kick back on our ocean view deck with one of our 32 ice-cold draft beers, 120 of the world's best Tequila's, while enjoying one of our world famous poke bowls. Great place to stay and chill. Everything is so easy from here as well Ana I love the free trolley down to the beach every ten min or so.
If you do have an issue, Sean has been great seeing it gets fixed. Sean truly cares about his hotel.
Love the California room!

This is a really great hotel. I love the decor of the rooms. Very clean. Steps up to the bathroom very different. Comfortable beds. Nice Keurig coffee with Half and half for coffee with raw sugar. Soap dispenser hard to use, but nice walk in shower. A/C worked great. Sunset room very nice. History of Surfing book on shelf. Ear plugs and relaxing sleep machine of ocean sounds next to bed. No phone in room. Room was under the Canteen, but we didn't mind. Not that loud. Very friendly staff. Next time, we plan to stay and take surf lessons. Parking was a little stressful for us. We did not know

This place was awful. I asked for a refund after my partner and I were disrespectfully walked in on. The manager told us it was not her fault she walked in as we should've waited until the room was ready but one of the employees told us the room was ready and we could go head & head in. After we were walked in on we left since we felt uncomfortable and disrespected.

Perfect spot for a getaway! When I first walked through the entrance to the Nomads hotel I immediately noticed how clean everything looked and smelled. I followed the email instructions for self-checkin and in a few simple steps I was in a beautiful well appointed clean room. I loved the thoughtful touches (prepped Keurig, postcards, free drink coupons) and the decor was amazing. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were very soft.

The room is below the restaurant/bar and so we could hear the noise from upstairs but the owners are aware and thoughtfully provided ear plugs and a sound machine

Nicest people to work with, great location and fantastic rooms. It has a surfer hotel/hostel vibe, which is fine, but not what I was looking for in a get away. Husband and I booked for a few nights as a treat. The extremely loud a/c fan was awful. Using my own ear plugs and asking about it didn't help. Apparently this was mentioned in a review prior, but I didn't read ahead of time. Husband stayed the extra night and I went home so disappointed.
Very clean though.

Wanted to take off with the kids for the weekend and booked this hotel last minute....omg so much fun sleeping on bunk beds and coffee and amenities are right around the corner as well as the beach! Not to mention only 7 minutes from the San Clemente Outlets, will definitely be back and would love to check out the Bali room

It's a cool place, but has to be the right fit for you. If you're staying out late then probably no issue. If you go to bed earlier the noise upstairs could get to you. We happened to be under the kitchen so there was banging a rolling cart till midnight. The room is nice though and the location is great. Walking distance from a lot of great restaurants and the cigar lounge. I wouldn't recommend as a super luxurious place, but cool if you like the nightlife and want a clean place to sleep.

Great experience, vibe and decor. Very close to beach, downtown restaurants- walkable! Owner made effort to let us in arrive early. Appreciated two free drinks at the Cantina. Make sure to look for email w/ entry instructions for lockbox and door code- not a biggie, just take note. Totally loved it, just be mindful there is a Cantina above, which can be loud. They do provide a noise machine that makes ocean waves, along with ear plugs. We were alright, since we were out late anyhow. Thanks for a great stay.

We had an amazing surf adventure.
Booked a surfing package for 4 nights. The instructors were all super friendly and very proffesional. The room conditions were excellent, and the hotel provided 3 meals a day at upstairs restaurant which was amazing. (Breakfast was served at a near by Café).
Highly recommended, great value and not very expensive!

OK here is my review very cute I will give you that until I got in to the shower and noticed a very bright light bright blue light turned out to be a video camera I did not report this to the police thinking they were not believe me however I have a friend who's an FBI agent and it was confirmed !!
Unless you want to be videotaped against your will & without your knowledge in the Sunset room That was the room I was in then come on stay in it and spent 200 bucks and waste your money and have your naked body being filmed while you're taking a shower!!!!
although it's really hard

Starting with the good: The price was great for this area, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room (and hotel for that matter) was much different than anything you'd be used to- no front desk or anything. You just punch in a code in the front door and then a different code to get into your room (codes are emailed to you).

The bad: LOUD. I wish I could attach video to this, to show the loud banging that went on constantly during my stay, not to mention the consistent drone from a motor of some sort up in the ceiling. There's a restaurant above the hotel, so anything they

We visited Nomads Hotel on a friends trip a few months ago. Got to stay for a couple of days and had a great time in an amazing gem.

We ended up with two rooms for the amount of guys that came on the trip. We used the bigger room as our main hang out spot. It was equipped with a beautiful bathroom, convenient sink and mini fridge. It was the perfect spot to hang out and enjoy our time, when we were hanging out in the room. Our other room was the bunk room with, what felt like, a million bunks. They were roomy and perfect with a vaulted ceiling and sliding glass door to the outside. This room

Great place. This is my second visit. There is a restaurant right above the rooms so you do hear some foot traffic but the location, room cleanliness and hospitality are the best. Lots of surfers hang out here, your only about 3/4 mile from San Clemente pier. Awesome restaurants everywhere within walking distance. Sean one of Nomads owners is a down to earth cool dude and he is a great host.

Super fun hotel, great management. Keep in mind they have a bar upstairs so during the time the bar is open it's noisy, that said the bar closes around 11pm so it's not noisy all night! Each room is decorated awesomely. The maid is amazing and cleans your room every day. Colorful, hip rooms!

To me this is perfect. The room is built to the quality you'd expect from something extravagant. Everything from vintage themed artwork and sculptures, to reclaimed wood bars and counter space. Miniature kitchen, and friendly laid back staff. I personally enjoy that it has the feel of an AirBnB with the door and check in system. I was greeted by a friendly staff member who explained the system of key coded doors which I prefer to room keys personally.

One thing to know before booking, is that the restaurant and bar upstairs bleeds in footsteps. Not a big deal unless you're going to sleep

Per the previous review, it is true that the restaurant noise from above can be problematic if you plan to turn in early. The floors are hardwood and it seems there is little that can be done about it outside of the earplugs... OR...you can just go upstairs and spend some time getting to know the friendly locals who frequent the bar/restaurant. It's a very pleasant little place.

The check-in is quirky too. The front door requires a code to enter and there's no receptionist. I booked online and didn't read the email confirmation which instructs you to visit the restaurant (which
