The Beachcomber Inn is a quaint, cottage-style inn situated steps from the Pacific Ocean. The inn was built in 1953, and offers vintage at its finest. The Beachcomber is believed to be the oldest continuously running businesses in town, and it retains its lodging typical of this time. The property has not been substantially updated, to maintain its charm and character.
The rooms are small and do not meet modern standards for accessibility. We may be able to provide accommodations, please call to discuss your particular requirements. The blissfully secluded Beachcomber provides the perfect window through which to experience the California lifestyle. This inn, due to the properties' unique position, offers unparalleled views of the waters below.

To the Management! This place is always excellent.
But the new front desk check in girl is terrible!! She’s really cold, and very unfriendly to the point of rude!!!
. I tried booking rooms and she told me every month next year was full and won’t even open her computer!! !
. We got home and booked several stays next year in the months she said we’re full ! We were looking for one night stays and she said they were all booked! I would highly recommend you get her out of there as soon as possible she’s lazy, rude and losing business for you. We stayed Monday, September 13th. You can find

Amazing experience!!!
Beautiful views, beach decorated rooms and awesome staff.
I stumbled on this place by chance and we loved every second of it. Bookings are hard to come by and a bit steep in pricing, but you'll understand why once you stay.
They have BBQ and a Fit pit for guest. All rooms have their own kitchen and restroom. And a big window to watch the sunrise and sunset.

We have been staying at the Beachcomber inn for over 6 years. Every year we enjoy it, in till our stay these last couple days.
We booked 2 rooms a year in advance. 6 days ago my sister that was going to come from Utah tested positive for Covid-19. We called to cancel one room. The gentleman said that we would be charged half the stay because we did not cancel 14 days in advance. When we booked the room the rules were 72 hours in advance. In May they sent us a email confirming our reservation and in the fine print changed the cancellation policy to 14 days in advance for any reservation after January

To me Beachcomber Inn will be a FOREVER FAVORITE as I was recently engaged there! The staff went above and beyond to everything was PERFECT!
The walk on the beach and pier were highlights. Waking up and sleeping to the crashing of the waves reminded me of living on the islands. Paradise I tell you!! The view from the room was MAGNIFICENT! There are plenty of cozy places to sit and take in the view, including personal patios! There are jackrabbits running around in the wee early morning which made me happy to see. So many stores and eateries around, you can't possibly be disappointed!

Beautiful place to enjoy the views and relax. Villas include full kitchen. Perched on a small cliff that overlooks the beach and ocean. Surfliner train passes through your view. Very cool to see it at night. Once you exit the gated grounds, just a quick walk down to local restaurants and the pier. Access to beach also! Highly recommended!!

The hotel was nice (hence the second star) but their staff member was horrible. I would like to write about the beautiful view and location but our experience with the receptionist ruined the whole trip. Her name starts w a M. Power tripped and millennial condensation. I feel bad for the owner as I have employees... did not represent well.

I did not stay here, but I would like to share my experience. We took a day trip to San Clemente with our dogs and got caught in the rain. One of the dogs started to shiver. I noticed the hotel and went in to ask for a towel. I offered to pay for it. The front desk assistant, Marjan, said that there was no need. I offered to pay again and she said no. I am so grateful to her for helping us out and being so gracious. Next time we come back for an overnight trip, we will stay here.

So we just got back from our trip to the Beachcomber. Two glorious nights in a great place. Again the place is very clean and well kept. The rooms all have fully equipped kitchens - so we go and bring all of our food to prepare and stay "Quarantined" here. We never got within 10 feet of anyone and had a great time.
The rooms are very nice. The view is incredible. This is actually the first time that I rated it less than a five. Everything was really good - but two things tipped the scale this time:
1) POOR COVID PROCEDURES - When we got there and I walked up to the window, the man at

I have been going to Beachcomber several times a year for the past 20 years! I have always loved this place and has been the place I go for a quick get away from home in San Diego. The service is always great! Joey and his staff there have always taken such good care of me every time I stay. The recent renovations and decor make it even more beautiful. I wouldn't change a thing about Beachcomber!!!!

Rooms are definitely small but hotel is cozy. As for me - it could be better to have a little more privacy- there is only on pedestrian walk are in from of everyone's windows. But from view perspective - it's nice. Fireplace, tables for picnic and chairs on the grass are so convenient for all guests.

Location Location Location! I can't even begin to say how much I loved my short stay at the beachcomber; the views were stunning and as much as that's a big deal it's not just the views that make this place 100%. It's the fact that you feel like you are transformed back to a slower pace, simpler times. You can sit back, enjoy life and everything around you. As I sat down, watched the waves roll in and people enjoy the beach I was taken back to a place that I longed to be, somewhere I hadn't been in quite some time; I was at rest.

We stayed in the deluxe villa, which has lots of privacy and two separate entrances at the far end of the property (closest to the pier). It has a second room with bunk beds for the kids (bottom is a full-size, top is twin) with a TV. The main room has a king bed, kitchen and bathroom. The lady at check-in was so personable, accommodating and sweet. The fire pit and all the lounge chairs peppered over the property were fabulous! Outdoor shower has hot water...Amazing! Walking distance to everything! Views speak for themselves!

The view from every porch is beautiful, the chairs are comfortable also while you are lazing the days away watching the waves crash. The staff was great, even called to say they found my hat and on a second visit had our room ready early and called to let us know. This is an older yet updated property with lots of beachy charm.

This place is soooo awesome! Fyi their booking site is way more user friendly recently, if your date is booked it shows you what other days may be available.
