At Laulima Physical Therapy we focus on treating patients with orthopedic conditions such as frozen shoulder, whiplash, rotator cuff injuries and more. Martina, is one of only 3 APTA registered members on the island of Oahu that specializes in using the Rapid Release Tool which breaks up scar tissues and adhesion without causing further pain.
Martina was born and raised in Czechoslovakia where her love for swimming and athletics inspired her to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. She completed 2 years at the University of Presov in Slovakia specializing in Geography and Physical Education. In May of 2012 she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Wayne State University, along with an Associates degree in Science from School-Craft College.

I have had 5 surgeries that include 3 to the neck involving 2 fusions. I have seen some wonderful therapists in that time, but none can compare to Martina at Laulima Physical Therapy. In the past, the therapists treated the injury and I thought that was great. But, what Martina taught me is you have to also treat the on-going injury and how it affects the body. So, one of my injury's is to the spinal column in my neck. Instead of just treating that injury, Martina also treats the area below my neck because the fusion is now affecting my thoracic spine. She is also helping to strengthen my shoulder

I am diagnosed with bulging disc s1 4and 5. My lower back hurts. I h a ve been to 2 different pt therapy and massage therapy and no help or proper balance and structure to strengthen and help me. Since I have been with Laulima I have really had a huge improvement on my problems. I have had a lot of learning new techniques to walk and stand properly for my back.
I'm still pursuing strengthen and getting my pain under control.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate Martina and the staff.

Martina has made such a significant improvement in my recovery that I actually find myself having the confidence to go out of the house more. For the longest time I was afraid to go out of the house for fear of falling down. I have the strength in my legs but, my knees would sometimes buckle and down I would go. Since I have been going to Laulima Physical Therapy I rarely fall. I use to fall 1 to 2 times a week. Embarrassing...
