According to the American Physical Therapy Association, back pain is the most commonly reported pain across the nation, and one out of every four Americans has experienced back pain in the past three months. Back pain can be debilitating when you want to have a normal life and can cause a great deal of uncertainty and worry.
When I first came to Moon Physical Therapy I had 3 bulging disks, one which was herniated, a pinched nerve (c5-c6). They worked closely with my doctors and my neck pain was effectively treated, requiring no additional procedures. I am happy to say I am well and I believed it's thanks to her patience and treatment.

Moon Physical Therapy is the place to be! The staff are VERY courteous and make you feel like a part of the family rather than a patient. Julie and her PTA are knowledgeable and will safely guide you in your recovery and pursuit of your desired goals. This therapy experience is THE MOST comprehensive one I have ever had. Aquatic therapy in the Hydroworx and large pool GREATLY assisted me in my recovery and allowed me to have a more dynamic experience during land-based treatment.

When I came to Moon Physical Therapy as a graduated PTA. I had the privilage to open a brand new clinic at Mililani with Julie. I enjoyed being mentor by Julie, she is kind, patient, and so great as making you feel part of team. Julie also helped me understand how important a PTA can be part of helping our community get healthier.
Aqua therapy is a unique and a great way to help patients with our awesome Hydrowox system. I would reccomdend anyone who is thinking of getting into aqua therapy and land to join our team.

Thank you Moon Physical Therapy for taking care of me over 10 years ago (at Honolulu location) and currently taking of my husband! I have just completed my second round of HydroWorx & Laser physical therapy at your Kailua facility.
This is not my first encounter with physical therapy at other clinics - I have had previous PT for knee, shoulder, back, hand, and post-anterior disectomy and fusion conditions.
At age 76, after a year of restricted physical activity as a result of pandemic precautions, I found myself weakening and plagued by shoulder and lower back pain. I had difficulty getting out of bed; I was awakened several times a night by sharp pain in both shoulders; and my back ached while walking.

Definitely made a big difference in my recovery. I've been injured since June of last year & tried regular PT but it actually made me worse. The weightlessness & warmth of being in the hydroworx pool was amazing. Walking on the treadmill while in water is such a cool experience and a boost in activity I normally wouldn't tolerate. Neck floating let my spine relax & stretch in no way I could have ever achieved otherwise and I know it's what contributed to finally getting a good nights sleep. I have gone to this center 3 years. Each time was in different calendar years. I am a current patient. This year, when I went to start therapy, I was met by Dr. COLLIN SMAY, who evaluated me and set up my therapy plan. I really feel that he listened closely to my goals and limitations. I’m an 80 year old, retired RN with Arthritis. In March I visited with my PCP and complained of severe pain in my knees and ankles. He noted I had extreme difficulty walking due to the pain. He suggested I try physical therapy to help with the pain and mobility. Definitely highly recommend this place! The staff is wonderful and they did the best they could to make sure I was under the proper care. They do a great job at asking where your pain level is and try to work with your individual issues maturely and effectively to get you into better health! I would like to personally thank Shanna who took care of me today at my appointment with moon therapy on Ward Avenue, I have been to many a physical therapy office. over the past 10 years. Today was day 1 of recovering my life. Due to life circumstances for the past nine months I have done nothing for my back pain issue because of my husband's illness. I truly loved the therapy I got from Moon Therapy. Julie is Amazing! I've been coming here for years when my arthritis is really bad. It's the only place that's made a difference because of it endless water pools that allows me to move my joints and increases my mobility without any pain. I don't know if any place other than one skilled nursing rehab (and you have to be admitted) that utilizes advanced water therapy at comfortable temperatures. I'm so happy they have been around for many years now and even expanded!

I recently completed my therapy sessions at Moon Physical Therapy and would like to express my complete satisfaction with the treatment I received . The therapists were very professional and helped me with my problem offering different ways to correct my posture and encouraging me to continue with exercises and stretches at home. I felt like a part of a little family by the time I had graduated from my 8 sessions of PT. I will miss them greatly, and while I don't desire to throw my back out again, I wouldn't be too disappointed if I got to go back and spend more time in their office.

I progressed very well in water therapy, my favorite is the hydroworx. Not only does the hydroworx allow you to really get down into the core but you do it seemingly like magic. In water, your limbs and ability to move is challenged on another level, making it easier to achieve accomplishments quicker and easier. The hydroworx is no easy feat, but if you are willing to keep on striving, progress is achieved in a relatively short time.

I like MPT, and Julie, the owner, is awesome. I've worked with her multiple times and always found relief. However, they are terrible at answering the phone! It's rare to call and speak to an actual person! I'm not sure what the reason is, as I thought Cami was their receptionist and therefore should always answer the phone. Unfortunately, there have been many times when I had to keep calling and calling because no one returned my message or I needed to speak with someone urgently. If you expect to call and speak to someone immediately, MPT is not the place for you.

I was treated for an unusual back pain that really affected my ability to stand and walk. Moon Physical Therapy helped me to strengthen the appropriate muscles that were affecting my pain and after a month of treatment, I'm now back to regular activities without any chronic pain. The lead therapist, Julie, is incredibly knowledgeable and you can tell that she really cares about the ability to help her patients get better. I hurt my back lifting weights last summer, and every morning for two weeks as soon as I got out of bed I was in pain.
