Neil was born and raised on Oahu and graduated from Moanalua High School. He attended the University of Hawaii and obtained a B.A. in Psychology. Neil earned his Master of Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California and went on to receive board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.
As an owner of a yoga and fitness company, I strive to maintain a well-balanced body and mind. After I injured my neck and shoulder, Mari helped me understand the injury, taught me how to fix the problem, and made changes to my posture and mechanics that would prevent the injury from occurring again.

I can't say enough good things about Chantelle . She is knowledgeable, friendly , warm, flexible and knows exactly what she is doing. I was referred to her by my doctor after 3 months of PT with a different group who seemed to have no idea what they were doing . Chantelle really helped me and I noticed a significant improvement in my pain and other symptoms in a short period of time. 5 stars for Chantelle .

Unfortunately, this company does not have administrative support for their physical therapists. This means, if I needed to make, change, confirm an appt or ask a question , I had

Today I had my second physical therapy appointment to break up scar tissue and try to get each bone in the foot and ankle to move fluidly. Neil Shimabukuro is wonder-full. Kind, patient, knowledgable.... to do something that's very pain-full with just enough pressure to get results and not have me jump off the table. He uses the graston technique, and it works.

Then Neil showed me exercises that will help strengthen the weak areas, and others that will bring me my ability to balance again. Yay! I'm so happy. I already can feel and physically see results in how I'm walking. I had

Neil got me from not being able to run due to calf tightness to finishing the marathon in 6 weeks!!! Neil carefully explained his diagnosis, applied treatment appropriate for my condition and goals, and thoughtfully answered all my questions. Previously, Neil successfully helped regain full use and range of motion for a broken bone in my right hand.

Neil is an amazing! He not only pinpointed the cause of my knee pain, but found a hamstring issue that my Orthopedic surgeon had missed! So glad he was referred to me

I am very happy and im a lucky guy eventhough im dealing with a long lasting injury. i have moved from florida to hawaii and i knew it was going to be a task to find a good physical therapist. i got the name of holomua pt thru http://www.grastontechnique.com/ i have neil perform this therapy using the graston tool and break up some intense hard core muscle tension and scar tissue of my neck, shoulder, peck, ribs and lower back. i was able to go back to surfing the next day. i truly believe he dedicates time and interest in one's injury giving full attention to the affected area. i cant wait

I've been a runner for a couple of decades and have a long list of injuries throughout the years. I've been in and out of many PT gyms in Honolulu and Holomua is simply the best. You get Neil's 100% attention during your appointments and aren't handed off to a specialist or intern.

I severely injured my arm and was scheduled for Tommy John Surgery which typically takes 6 months to a year to recover. My surgeon wisely sent me to Neil to "see what he could do". Neil got me healthy within a month and helped me avoid surgery.

Recently went back to Holomua to see

I've had lower back pain (L4/L5) and have seen a number of orthopedic doctors/physical therapists and it wasn't until Neil worked with me a few years back, did I see results. I recently saw Neil again for mid back pain (was taking 800 mg ibuprofen), and after an hour w/Neil; no more ibuprofen! Neil's knowledge/education and many years of training has made him one of the premier back physical therapists. I do not hesitate to recommend Neil for any type of physical therapy.

I've struggled with back pain my entire life and consider myself to have a high pain tolerance but in the past year, I've noticed that my back pain, which I considered to be somewhat a constant dull ache started to be more severe and interfered with my daily routines. Working full time and with four small kids, I need my back! I didn't know much about physical therapy besides sports injuries or for rehab from accidents so I was a little skeptical at first but I am now a believer! Not only does he know his stuff, he's funny and instantly puts you at ease while educating you
