Chef Raymond & D'Arcy Arpke followed their passion for fine food and purchased Euphemia Haye, a tiny 28-seat restaurant on Longboat Key, in 1980. In the forty years since, they have expanded the restaurant, added the Haye Loft, and built a family of staff. Most impressively, their care for our guests and the dining experience has never waned.
We invite you to come dine with us and "let go." Enjoy a glass of wine and feast on our award-winning global and American food while you look out onto our beautiful tropical grounds. Enjoy a drink, nibble on a few appetizers and a dessert in the more laid back upstairs Haye Loft!. The Haye Loft was formerly the apartment of the restaurant's original owner, so when designing the lounge, we gave it a swanky "bachelor pad" style.

Services
Euphemia Haye was established in 1975 as a dining establishment that combined a warm, friendly ambiance with outstanding service and an imaginative menu that used only the finest foods available. We continue that tradition to this day. Downstairs, you will enjoy our eclectic a la carte menu in one of our fine dining rooms overlooking a tropical garden studded with twinkle lights.
We are located on Longboat Key. Depending on traffic, we're a pleasant 30 minute drive along the Gulf, from both downtown Sarasota and downtown Bradenton. From Bradenton, take Cortez Road heading west. Once on the island, make a left on Gulf Drive and follow it heading south. Pass Coquina Beach and head over the Longboat Key Bridge.
We are available by phone from 10am-10pm most days of the week. However, it is best to call between 10am-5pm, Mon-Fri when a member of our friendly office staff may best assist you. Please call if you would like to make a reservation or cancellation, as we do not accept reservations or cancellations via email.
Chef Ray integrates classical training with his innovative flair and a love for fresh foods to provide consistently outstanding global and American cuisine. Our foods are all made-to-order. Our breads, stock, sauces, soups, dressings, and desserts are all homemade on the premises. Our fish is freshly-caught and our beef is trimmed and chopped in-house.
Please note: We DO NOT accept reservations upstairs in the Haye Loft Lounge or Dessert Room. They are designed for our walk-in diners. People who dine with us downstairs will have guaranteed seating upstairs for dessert. We strongly suggest that if you have any special requests, such as sitting in our Tavern Room, that you call to make a reservation.

This was a wonderful meal. That said, I believe when you pay this much the meal must be extraordinary to warrant five stars. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful it just didn't quite get there to get a complete five stars. Still, I would highly recommend it.
Ambiance/view: 4 .... They do a great job of making a restaurant with no View feel cozy and elegant.

We have been visiting Longboat Key for nearly 15 years. We, my wife, I and the couple who own the timeshare where we stay, have a bunch of favorite restaurants on the island. So much so, we can't fit them all in during our week's stay.
So during this past visit we met up with another couple who now live permanently to the island. They wanted to go to their favorite restaurant, Euphemia Haye. Now this place is walking distance from the timeshare, but we've avoided it in the past due to its notoriously higher prices. But, when in Rome....
Well the prices were a bit higher, but not

The atmosphere was lovely, but the host was snippy and when we left (on Christmas Eve), he didn't say goodnight, thank you, or happy holidays. Not a word-like he was happy we were leaving. The food was just average and overpriced. The rest of the staff was fine, but your first and last impression is at the door.

Incredible food, lovely atmosphere and great service. Over the past few months, I've had dinner at Euphemia Haye three times and it's been nothing short of incredible every time. Although slightly pricier than neighboring restaurants, the portion sizes are generous and the quality of food is well worth the price.
Appetizers: I'd recommend the gnocchi or the fried green tomatoes. The Caesar salad is also delicious.
Entrées: the roasted duck is the best I've ever had, and prepared with a different sauce each night, all of which are delicious. The peppered steak is also not

Celebrated our anniversary with a fantastic dinner last Saturday. If I could give them 6 stars I would! Every member of the staff was friendly and focused on our having a great dinning experience. Well done, as you made us feel part of the family. What about the food? Can you say ridiculously awesome! We had the pepper steak, eggplant parm, creamed spinach and grouper. All were excellent, high quality, expertly seasoned and prepared. The recipes are solid. It's not often that everything ordered at any restaurant is great, but this was one of those times :) Oh and if you like wine, they have

We travel to vacation in Longboat Key every year, and not one has passed in the last decade where we did not end up having dessert night at Euphemia Haye. This year, we also had dinner downstairs in the dining room. The menu is varied and each of our dishes was fantastic. From steak to seafood to poultry, all six of our dinners were fantastic. The desserts are unsurpassed - photos show a sampling. Roughly a dozen different options prepared fresh everyday. Truly a treat, complimented by the freshly pressed coffee.

Of the three restaurants I ate dinner at here on Longboat Key, this was my favorite. It almost feels like you are in a house that has been converted to a restaurant. It has an older wood paneling atmosphere that suits the menu. There was a lovely view from our window of tropical plants illuminated by white Christmas lights. The steak that I got was about the best steak I have ever had. I would go back just for another steak. I want to say it was $55, but I have to say it was worth it. The mashed potatoes were promised the sensation of horseradish, but it was a bit weak for my tastes. No matter

This is an incredibly nice upscale restaurant that I'd recommend a reservation for. That being said, I intend to visit each and every time I am in Sarasota/LBK.
You absolutely cannot go wrong with any of their Pizzas, especially if you are a thin crust person. The Avocado bruschetta was wonderful too, but my biggest recommendation is the Prime Peppercorn Steak, which is a house cut NY Strip with peppercorn crust in an orange brandy sauce. Best steak in Sarasota area. Finish your meal with any dessert at the dessert bar, but definitely try the Apple Walnut Crumble. Overall, fantastic restaurant

Lovely decor I felt in a traditional restaurant in France. You are greeted by your own owners and when you sit down the chef welcomes you or he comes in the middle of the dinner to ask you have you feel and that is very typical of sophisticated restaurants.
About the food I don't have any complaints I only have good recommendations each plate was perfect too tasty. Same thing with the service kindly people, all recommendations were very very good.
The wine list is pretty good and they have a lot wine from Europe (Spain, France).
Dessert experience you have to pay the check and then go upstairs

Euphemia Haye- dinner- Monday-5/10/21-
We had a recommendation from our doctor to have dinner there. Made reservations. When we arrived, we were abruptly scolded by Ian, the host, to put our masks on. Told him we were all vaccinated, but he continued to give us attitude and was immediately rude. We had barely gotten through the front door before Ian was combative. Having been in hospitality management for decades with Ritz Carlton and JW Marriott, there are certainly many ways to kindly ask your guests but Ian had the charm of a stone! We were stunned and it took about 20 minutes after being

So, I guess I don't understand restaurants in the day and age of Covid, but this is the 2nd time in a month our party was asked to leave so someone else could have our table.
the food was good...but...again...
we arrived around 5:30 at the upstairs restaurant (first come first served area) so we could get a table for 4. Our friends live here and we were visiting From the Orlando area. Have not reunited with them in 10 years, so this was a special night. We ordered drinks, dinner, bottle of wine and dessert. We had a nice dinner, and about 15 minutes after dessert arrived we were asked

With the atmosphere mirroring a retirement dining room, save yourself hundreds of dollars and a 2-3 hour wait for mediocre food and very poor service and go to Shore LBK instead.
They sat us next to the toilet hallway and we got to experience dude after dude emptying their bowels and hear the steady stream of pee make it's way down the urinal. Not to mention, the smell as we sat at our tiny table while multiple booths were open for 3 hours. The duck tasted very gamey and chewy and tough. It took 90 minutes to bring its replacement and by then we both we sick to our stomach.

Visited this past December. A good choice. Very comfortable with an old world feel. The menu is "dated" in a good way. Many of the choices are restaurant standard but executed perfectly.
We had he roasted duck which had crackling skin and was still juicy. Save room and go upstairs for dessert. Excellent selection of cakes, pies and other sweets. Can't go wrong with the red velvet.
