Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent to submit or give up. BJJ encourages free sparring against a live, resisting opponent (also know as "rolling").
Growing Gorillas - Straight Blast Gym's kids' martial arts curriculum - combines the discipline of martial arts training with personal development and monthly Life Skills teaching. Growing Gorillas is all about growing stronger, healthier, happier children. Kids of all ages and abilities at SBG become independent thinkers and compassionate leaders, while learning to navigate all of life's challenges.

Can’t say enough good things about this place! Great staff, clean facility and lots of classes! Coaches are very knowledgeable and explain techniques very clearly. There’s a class for everyone whether your looking to get in shape or train in a specific discipline. There’s also open gym where you can use the facility if you can’t make a class.

This place is a scewjob. The coaches are good, but they get you, and they get you GOOD with the contract. If you want to be taken seriously, you need to sign a 6 month contract. It's one thing to have an option of a contract, it's another to make it essential. Cancel your card and stop going? They send collectors. BEWARE!!!

Absolutely love SBG Idaho! They have a clean facility, top notch coaches, and an amazing curriculum. SBG is very transparent and love that I know what I'm getting into! Coaches are super supportive, knowledgable, and have continuous training. Their kids programs are so great as well! If you are every planning on training or wanting your kids to train this is the place to be!

I had the pleasure of attending a women's self-defense class hosted by SBG. It was very comprehensive. I feel better equipped then I anticipated I would be leaving the class. Offering this class for free is an amazing service for our community. I feel so fortunate to have this opportunity available. Thank you for making this accessible, and comfortable for all women.
Thank you to all the dedicated coaches who helped with all my questions though out the process.

My daughter has been going to SBG for 7 months and she loves it. The coaches are very professional and the program is perfect for younger kids. The coaches are on the mats rolling with the kids and showing them the right way to do things to better their skills.
The homework (Life skills) the kids get I believe make them a better person in and out of the gym. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for top notch Knowledge.

Great gym, coaches and members. Having a blast. As a white collar professional this gym has allowed me to go from meeting champion who sits all day to back in shape with restored energy for life. Last bit - as a person who specializes in contracts, the negative review complaining about stipulations is an idoit. The staff is very accomdating. In my experiences the staff will work with you around vacations and offer extensions (they don't have to do this. It is a big win). Read the terms and understand what you are signing up for. This gym is a class act. Could not recommend more.

Stopped in while traveling. Had a warm welcome from their front desk and coach. Accidentally took the wrong class. I had come in for advanced but ended up going with foundations. Wasn't a problem though because both coaches were super knowledgeable plus a great team vibe. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely stop in! Good workouts.

I am disappointed in the operations of Combat Fitness. I had planned to be able to come in and work off some stress and anger over the months. Then I had life take over and I ended up having to buy a new car to be able to make it to work. I called Combat Fitness to see if they would stop charging me... they weren't genuine what so ever. They are continuing to take money from my account and they have put me in a bad position to the point I cannot pay my own rent. I don't recommend this to anyone who is living real life and sometimes can't afford $200 a month at some points.

Been coming here for a couple weeks now and I got to say the People Are Awesome the gym is nice and overall a very welcoming experience it's real hard to not like this place I highly recommend that if you want to practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu my only complaint is that they have one big mat that everyone trains on other than that I really the free weights also I came from the gym where you had to hang your own boxing bag and of course they have a cage to practice in. I really do look forward to Growing with this gym

Awesome place! I drove to Boise from California and am a very competitive MMA fighter who's always looking to train around the world and this gym exceeded my expectations a very welcoming gym and encouraging as well I was very pleased with the training I got. I've been around the world training already in my career and will say that whether you're training competitively or just for fun this is a good stop

We brought our son to Combat Fitness so he could learn some striking and ju-jitsu. We were also hoping it will build his confidence in uncomfortable situations. Jesse and his crew have done a great job introducing my son to this great sport. I like forward to some amazing results
Thanks for your time and efforts.

I started taking Jiu Jitsu at Combat Fitness as a way to exercise and start a new hobby. I set up a meeting to take a tour with Jesse Brock and he was very informative as to what I could expect. You can take a range of different classes from Jiu Jitsu to boxing to Muy Thai. There is also a modest free weight area if you wanted to get a lift in before or after training. The vibe isn't one of dominance or arrogance either. Everyone is there to learn, train, and have a good time. Jesse and all of the trainers are super nice and accommodating to everyone skill levels. I really enjoy the time I
