Our family dentist, Dr. Jeffrey Cohen has teamed up with implant specialist Dr. Rainier A. Urdaneta to deliver a wide spectrum of dental care to all our patients.
Dr. Cohen was raised in Lexington, MA and attended Lexington High School. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Chemistry and later graduated from Northwestern University Dental School Chicago. Dr. Cohen worked as a dental associate in Billerica before serving as a Dental officer United States Army Fort Lee, Virginia, and then served during Operation Desert Storm, with the rank of Major.
Oral hygiene checkups are recommended every six months for most patients, and are an effective way to detect early stages of any problems that may be developing. Our hygienists will remove plaque from your teeth with a professional cleaning, measure your gingival pockets, and perform a visual examination of your mouth and surrounding areas.
After the dental caries are removed by your dentist, the area is re-built, restored or reconstructed using a dental filling. Composite resins, * or tooth-colored fillings, are a mixture of glass or quartz filler that provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size fillings that need to withstand moderate pressure from chewing.
A connector - known as an abutment - is placed on top of the dental implant to hold and support your crowns. The crowns are custom-made to match your natural teeth and fit your mouth. Modern dental implants have been used successfully for over 30 years. They are the strongest devices available to support replacement teeth - and even better, they allow these new teeth to feel, look and function naturally.
