For the past year, La Peluqueria has been having Jean-Pierre Sosa from LA as a guest stylist. Tucked away in the heart of Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto, La Peluqueria offers a cozy, welcoming space to liven up your look. I had my hair cut by Patricia a year ago and it was a fine experience and a great hair cut. Today was something else. Patricia was so rude to me. She thought I had not shampooed my hair thoroughly enough, and told me she couldn't even cut my hair because of this. I asked if she could shampoo it but she just threw up her hands and cut it anyway. She spent so little time, care and effort on my hair cut and didn't try to dry my hair, so at the end I couldn't even tell if it was a decent haircut. It sounds ridiculous, but she treated me like I didn't deserve her attention because my shampooing wasn

Honestly I didn't know what a good haircut for my medium-curly hair looked like until I met Patricia. She is very good at what she does. I have gone to 20+ hairdressers and none of them have ever made my natural hair look as perfect as Patricia has. I am so grateful to have found her. Price is average if not slightly below what other hairdressers will charge you, but it's worth every penny.

I saw Patricia Lewis, owner of La Peluqueria yesterday. One look at her upon fist glance, I KNEW that my hair would be in good hands.....she has a head full of curls also. Not only was I more than pleased with the results of her expertise, she spent time giving me tips on how to take care of my hair myself. I am so very grateful for having found her and will travel the 50 miles to see her again and again! Thank you Patricia!!

I couldn't believe my luck when I found a curly hair salon in Downtown Berkeley! I called only two days in advance and got an appointment with Patricia. She is incredibly knowledgeable about curly hair - 25 years experience as a stylist - and she helped me change my look dramatically. I love my new style and I'll definitely be returning to Patricia in the future!

I have FINALLY found someone who understands curly hair, how to cut it, and how to style it!!! I haven't let anyone cut my hair in a long time. Patricia Lewis is a real professional and knows exactly what she is doing, whether it comes to cutting or coloring hair. She will not cut curly hair too short, unless you want her to, of course. She is as adept at cutting and styling straight and wavy hair. My two daughters who have got straight go to her too. One of them has a cow-lick and Patricia gave her a perfect haircut with bangs, which no one else had been able to do as nicely. I would refer anyone

I went to Patricia yesterday for the first time after a friend recommended her to me. She gave me a great cut that people were commenting on for the rest of the day! She also discussed my hair care regimen with me and it turns out that a lot of the things I'd been taught were flat out wrong. I'm excited to try her tips and see what happens. Her prices are half of the Deva cuts I've gotten before, so that was a great plus as well!
