Elle and her staff are the utmost professionals. They are very accommodating. Once you're their client they'll get your in whenever you need to come in for service. If you're just needing to have a one time treatment they also put your aunt easily. Their prices are reasonable your shop is very clean.

Absolutely love my haircut! The hair stylists working here are very kind and courteous and will always check in and see if you like how they're doing. I had Janelle and she did an amazing job on my hair really love it! I did a walk in and only waited for about 15-20 minutes but I suggest booking an appointment, especially on weekends! Thank you so much for the great haircut! Also love the student discount!

Moved to Berkeley a while ago and came in for Janelle the first week. Haven't gone any place else since. Every time I come in, she listens to exactly what I want, and I think she has even began to understand cutting my hair even better than I can explain to her!
Students get student deals, and she got lineups for the bros all day long!! Highly recommend trying Maxi's if you're in the Berkeley area. I got a tight and angled mid fade with a slight balancing of the layering on top. If you love nice and zeroed out fades, Janelle is zero the hero for you!

So pleased with the quality of service and end results of my time here! Ary took my hair and lightened it to a point I didn't think was possible! The salon was very clean and everyone was so accommodating, not to mention very reasonable prices especially if you're a Cal Berkeley student. 10/10 would recommend! I mean come on just look at the before and after!

All of the stylists in the salon were very nice and welcoming, and the space itself was really nice. Unfortunately, my hair does not look as nice. I booked with Janelle and asked for layers and got a mess of thick choppy layers. From the front, it looks like two different lengths because of how deep the top layer is. She definitely did not know how to layer hair at all so now I have three hair lengths instead of normal layers. I went to a different salon to try and fix it but there is only so much that can be done. I hate to leave a bad review because they were sweet and other people seemed to

This is a great place! I have been coming here for years, and I'm glad to see that she's back open and serving the public after the pandemic. Ellie is wonderful! She and everyone who works here, are very skilled, professional, and have a great attitude. Always worth the trip. A great service and benefit to the community. You won't be disappointed!

Ellie is one of the hidden gems of the East Bay. I would honestly pay twice as much for her amazing haircuts and brow shaping. She always listens intently to what I want and I end up with a haircut that is appropriate for my hair type and the styling effort I'm willing to put in. I've got long hair with bangs and cowlicks galore and she consistently leaves it looking amazing.

Thanks to a homie that shared this place with me when I was looking for a cut. It's now the only place I go to in the East Bay!!
I continued to get my hair cut here that I decided to bring my daughter when she wanted a shorter haircut.
At first, my kid was getting cut by another stylist (I can't remember the name) and the stylist realized they were not going to be able to achieve what my daughter was asking for. Instead of continuing and leaving my bb botched up, the stylist asked if Ellie could take over,
and I + + really really + + appreciated that!
And yes, Ellie did an amazing job

I made an appointment to get my hair done for about 300 dollars. I wanted pink highlights which I knew would be difficult to achieve because my hair was a virgin dark brown. I showed them pictures of my desired hair which was a darker shade of pink with minimal highlights. They agreed that they could achieve it, and for the first session I was there from 12-7. The stylist bleached and dyed my hair all in the same day to my surprise, as I thought lighter colors require several sessions. Once my hair was finished, it was a vibrant shade of red. I told the stylist that I thought the color was off

I sadly haven't been able to go to Maxi Cut in a bit because I have relocated due to COVID, but I continuously went to Maxi Cut during my time as a student at Berkeley. Staff are very attentive, and I quickly built a relationship with Ellie as she did my eyebrows. I am Persian, so generally stylists tend to take too much off or shape them incorrectly because there is so much to work with (and you get hide any missteps).
I am so grateful to have found Ellie. I highly recommend her (and have to all my Middle Eastern friends). She made sure your eyebrows look well groomed and fit MY face, going

My new go-to salon for all of my hair needs, whether it's a quick, cute buzz & cut, picking up my essential hair products, or going blonde...this is your one-stop shop for sure! I went in for full blonde highlights today.I showed them photo examples of what I wanted and they nailed it EXACTLY! And the color is truly beautiful! Take a look at my pics for yourself.
